Steve Furtick, Pastor of Elevation Church, is speaking at the 2012 C3 Presence Conference. After examining Furtick’s countless sermons and observing behaviour and methods, Chris Rosebrough from ‘Fighting For the Faith’ says:
“Based on the performance I have that I’ve seen… I think it is safe to say that Steven Furtick is a cult leader. I know that might come as a shock to some of you but I mean, based on what his followers have been saying to me privately and pubicly on twitter as well as in email and other stuff like that- I mean this guy is a cult leader. He is the visionary. He’s the man of God. He’s the new Messiah. But he’s not.” – Chris Rosebrough, The Antidote to Antichrist’s Anti-Truth: 08:30, http://0352182.netsolhost.com/F4F012012.mp3, 20/01/2012.
This is a strong conclusion that Phil Pringle should heed. Pringle’s Presence Conference 2012 is broadcast all around the world online, with thousands of people attending. (Tickets $50 each.)
Why is Pringle endorsing a supposed cult leader to speak at his Presence Conference 2012? Does Pringle care more about popular celebrity Christians rather than caring about the spiritual health of the Australian churches Pringle is influencing?
You idiot!!!!! What in the heck are u doing?
Ur gonna burn for this
@ Kasey – John Macarthur, when asked to comment on Steven Furtick at the 2012 Shepherds” Conference, he had just one word to say – “unqualified”.
For a man of such statue in the Christian community, a man who has devoted his whole adult life to the preaching of God’s Word, to make such a statement, is very telling about the state of the church today.
When Steven could looking for spirituial guidance from men like Macarthur or even Matt Chandler, for that matter, he instead goes chasing after false teachers (T.D. Jakes) and spiritual narcissists (Perry Noble).
A few years ago, Chris Rosebrough critiqued a fine sermon by Steven but what happened since then? It’s called the slippery slope of eisegesis and not one I would want to be one.
God bless anyone who exposes apostasy these days. Steven Furtick is a dangerous false teacher who ‘leads’ people to Christ through strobe lights, rock music and declarations that ‘doctrine’ gets in the way of evangelism ! Really? Jesus said to AVOID those who reject sound doctrine! Romans 16;17 And Matthew 24 and 25 warns us about FALSE TEACHERS rising up in the last days! Furtick’s ‘gospel’ when compared to Jesus’ gospel is shocking, leading millions to a false redemption ! “And in the last days, men shall no longer endure sound doctrine, but embrace doctrines of demons.” I and II Timothy 4
and where are these accusations coming from? on Pastor Furtick and the other “false preachers” you named (T.D Jakes, Perry Noble)
The bible.
Cheers, Team ChurchWatch.
I don’t understand the criticism of Furtick or Jakes. Can someone please explain with reasonable evidence of how they are false teachers? I appreciate any time you have to share w me on this.
Luna – thanks for commenting. There’s a lot of well-informed theologians who have put together very good research material on both Jakes and Furtick. The attached is a good place to start:

Search the internet for: td jakes false teachings.
See what The Church at large has noticed.
The Internet and people who have missed the point of the gospel. Are the issue not Furtic or Jakes or whoever is being cannablized. It’s strange that churches that are bringing 1000s tens of 1000s to Jesus are the target. God have mercy on our blind guides who are missing God moving. Please stop this unfruitful war on your brothers and sisters.
“It’s strange that churches that are bringing 1000s tens of 1000s to Jesus are the target”
They are the target because they are leading the “1000s tens of 1000s” to themselves and eventually to hell – not Jesus. They are the enemies of God that Jesus and his apostles warned the church against. They are wide road, wide gate ministries that Jesus is warning his disciples against.
And you’ve fallen for their false authority. Listen to your own words, “They are right because look at how successful and big they are”. That is NOT the measure of a “right” pastor or leader. They are right if they prove to be faithful in handling God’s Word correctly – something that many avid defenders of heretics fail to grasp.
The late Ken Silva gave a lot of detailed information about those two. See right column “categories” section. http://apprising.org/
We’re all on the same side of the battle.
Why would you waste your platform trying to tear down something your God not only allowed but poured great favor and annointing to.
Don’t be that guy.
Even if you were right… God will deal him in his way. You’re not the Judge. Question your motives
We are not on the ‘same side of the battle’ The Church is turning on itself. Watered down doctrine, emotional hysteria, severe Biblical anemia and an unbiblical focus on ‘the Spirit’ has superseded Truth. The ‘Spirit’ people are not to be questioned, are supermen and they look to the spectacular for the path to God. “More fire, more water, more visions, more dreams, more healings’ has replaced the quiet sufficiency the Christian is enveloped with when the written Word is paramount in their life. Eat the Bread of Life and never hunger again. Drink the Water of Life and never thirst again. Accept the Promise of Life and never search again! RUN from these false teachers and saturate yourself in the LOGOS, the written Word. “And in the last days, men shall no longer endure sound doctrine, but rather, accept doctrines of demons.” I and II Timothy 4
