Phil Pringle made the statement,
“And the deal – some people accuse that – just what I said then, saying, ‘Oah! That’s prosperity gospel’ or whetever. I’ve never preached a gospel other than about Jesus my whole life. That’s the gospel: Jesus Christ. Beginning and end. You know I got no other message then that one.” – Phil Pringle, Steven Furtick ‘Stay Behind The Guide’, http://www2.myc3church.net/videos/steven-furtick-%E2%80%98stay-behind-guide, C3 Church Oxford Falls, 15/04/2012.
It’s odd that Pringle says that he preaches “the gospel: Jesus Christ. Beginning and end. You know I got no other message then that one.”
Below is the context of the above clip. While watching the video, ask yourself these questions:
Did he preach just “no other message” but “the gospel: Jesus Christ”?
Is he preaching prosperity gospel nonsense?
Is he contradicting himself?
You decide: Is Pringle preaching Jesus or prosperity nonsense?
“the gospel: Jesus Christ. Beginning and end. You know I got no other message then that one.”
If your preaching is pure, Phil, then why are so defensive about it? Why are you so snarky towards those who point out that you preach law and works? Why does it bother you when people label you a heretic, and point out that you both associate with and admire others who twist God’s word for their own selfish ends?
You are surprisingly insecure for one who has been called an “archbishop” and a “pope”. If your identity is in Christ and what He’s done for you, and if your life is hidden in Him, why on earth would you be ultra-sensitive in the face of criticism?
why don’t you preach yourself whatever you think is right…since you are the one who sit 20 hours in Gods presence to have your sprit built and working your times every single minute for trying to keep the church grow …
Phil said: “Most people are better brought than told to go”.
Is this the *same* Phil Pringle who said [paraphrasing] “We tell people where to sit, and if they don’t like it they can go and build their own church”?
Really? Which one is it, Phil?
You preach the prosperity Gospel, and then claim you *don’t* preach the prosperity Gospel.
You arrogantly claim the right to be able to dictate to people where they should sit in church, no less, and then you state that “people are better brought than told to go”.
You seem to be a very mixed up individual – you can hardly open your mouth without contradicting yourself. It’s not at all what one would expect of a man with a reputation as a great preacher and a gifted and dynamic communicator. The sad truth is that you actually present as a man who is troubled by spirits of confusion.
