Four years ago, Kong Hee wrote an article titled “Wholesome Shallowness?“. In this article Kong Hee verbally bashed pastors who took issue with Sun Ho’s Music video, “China Wine”. He justified their behaviour by claiming that Sun Ho was not a pastor nor did she work for any religious organisation.
“In 2007, my wife Sun released a music video of the hit single, “China Wine,” . . . the video also raised quite a few eyebrows within the religious fraternity who felt it was inappropriate for a Christian to be featured in a dance video.
Although Sun is married to me, she herself was never formally ordained as a minister. She never felt gifted with a pulpit ministry. . . Yet, in spite of all her secular and creative achievements, many conservative pastors find it hard to accept Sun in any role outside of church ministry. But the reality is that she is no longer a church staff or a gospel singer. She doesn’t work for any religious organization.
As a professional artist, Sun has to take on many dramatic stage personas. This is what entertainers do. In the “China Wine” video, she happens to be acting in one such role. . . I think the struggle many pastors have is the difficulty to separate her association with me (as a pastor’ wife) and her career as a singer. I agree that if she is a “pastor” or “preacher,” perhaps the video would have been inappropriate. But Sun is not a pastor. She is an entertainer. All her music videos were not produced by the church but by her secular music label, the company that she is working for.”
We can now safely say this was not true. Kong Hee once again has let everyone know that Sun Ho is indeed a “Pastor”. We could have uploaded the footage we have of Phil Pringle praying over “Pastor” Sun Ho at Presence Conference 2013. Instead, we decided to record Kong Hee’s upload of Phil Pringle praying over “Pastor Sun Ho”.
The censorship and the deceit of Phil Pringle was staggering at Presence Conference. Phil Pringle simply presented that Kong Hee and CHC are being persecuted by the Singaporean authorities. To mislead thousands of Christians and pastors around the world without reporting the facts of Kong Hee’s charges and court case should cause a concern to Christians everywhere. The two-faced nature of this entire scandal is mindblowing.
If Christians at Presence Conference 2013 knew that Pastor Sun Ho performed her raunchy video China Wine, would they honestly be united in prayer over this issue? If they knew that Kong Hee was being charged for mishandling millions of dollars to finance her wife’s music career would they be opening up their hearts, minds and spirits to a very dodgy ministry?
Even local Singaporean news found it necessary to point out the fact that Sun Ho is no longer separating her lifestyle from her music activities. The Straits Time reported Sun Ho saying,
“I am very thankful to Jesus that I can resume my executive duties at such a crucial time for City Harvest Church”.
Executive duties? So… Is ‘da dutty China Wine’ now an executive pastor at City Harvest Church?
Do Christians and pastors honestly want to pray and support a worldly pastor that ‘evangelises’ the world as a chinese geisha (prostitute)? Do Christians want to support Kong Hee who belittles pastors and Christians who are upset with his wife? Do Christians want to honestly be in agreement with double-speaking Phil Pringle and Kong Hee?

Sun Ho is a bad role model. She makes women look cheap. This is called compromise. It’s not Christianity.
Jesus didn’t have to stoop that low in the name of evangelism He just did miracles and walked in the power of God. I suppose Sun doesn’t haver he power of God on her life and is certainly not walking in the spirit which is what we are instructed to do. Maybe she forgot to real the bible.

I’m utterly confused – there are statements all over the place about this

On their own FB walls the CHC congregations are noticing this and speaking up!
As she is now back in an executive position at CHC, does this mean if Kong Hee is found guilty and goes to jail, all bases are covered? Just wondering……
Even if she says she is not a pastor but an artist – that’s no excuse for portraying sin and promoting satans kingdom. God gave us a brain to use not to put in neutral. Her songs, image, dress or lack of it and soft porn dance moves are so blatantly promoting wickedness. What’s happened to the body of Christ if we say this is ok in the name of art. That’s an outright lie from Satan.
You cant have a foot in both kingdoms. You can’t love the things of the world and love God. If you say you can you are a liar there is no truth in you. That’s the nature of satan.
Also it’s a well known fact that the work an artist produces comes from what’s in their spirit and soul. So on that criteria Sun’s spirit and soul are full of wickedness. You can’t argue against truth – just put it out there to cut through the lies. It’s impossible for an artist to create a piece of work from any other source than from what’s in their spirit and soul.
So has God answered any of Pringle’s prayers yet?

“I remember back then, Pastor Kong scolded a Korean guest preacher, who mistakenly called Sun “Pastor Sun” in his prayer. He seemed very serious in his warnings, even somewhat threatening.
But now, I found in recent video of Pastor Phil mentioned “Pastor Sun” in his blessings, and everything just went on. What is this? The return of Reverend Ho Yeow Sun? You can view it at Kong Hee’s page.

Teddy Twinkle: Maybe Sun is being ordained as Pastor? So, was she a pastor during the crossover? According to the news and CHC, she was not. But hey…. what if I have a ordinary membership appointment form that was signed by Sun by in 1998 where the form states that she was Reverend Sun. If that was an informal appointment because we addressed Sun as Pastor Sun ‘out of respect’….. then, why not I address my friend as Pastor also, since her husband is a Pastor in a church.

Teddy Twinkle: The form is in my hands now and I am looking at it as I type… yes, I kept the form for 15 years… because CHC had always been in my heart… that’s why it hurt me the most when I see CHC and Kong turn against his own words.
Building funds never used for Sun’s crossover? It’s not the money that angers me. It’s the attitude and cover-up that made me think about his sermons. If he can generate such a big cover up, and yet claim he stands firm in his integrity, then does that mean his sermons back then cannot be trusted at all? I had wasted my time, money and youth? Omg….
Teddy Twinkle: I have friends who attended bible school at CHC, and some of them gave money until they have nothing to save. They are in their 30s. No money, no education (they studied in CHC), no working experience (studied in CHC and were at ministry, etc).
One of them need to borrow a lot of money to get married recently, and had left CHC 2 years back. I guess he was disillusioned. But he wouldn’t have any of his money and youth back. He could only start his life, like what, 32 years old? No career experience, no CPF, no education (only O levels), how on earth is he going to support his family? Any family planning? Not sure but it’s going to be very tough to have kids at his stage.
Another couple I know just got married. Flat was expensive. I know they wanted to get married like 5-8 years ago, but kept giving to the church. No money to get married and prayed and hope financial blessings will go to them since they planted their seed money. Nope, they wanted to give 4 room flat, but couldn’t due to price. They waited and prayed. 4 room flat prices went up, and they have to wait for 3 room flat. They waited because 3 room flat was still expensive and could not get a BTO flat due to queue number (back in the days of Mah Bow Tan). Finally, 2 years back, they got their queue number. But lacking of money, they are now in debts as well. Both diploma holders but having a very poor quality of life.
Now, if Kong’s preaching is that Christians have to be successful and rich in order to win people over for Christ, then my friends as stated in the above example are doing it very badly. They are being ‘pitied’ and in fact, not achievers in the sight of CHC and common society. But what can they do? Does it mean that only Sun can live in glam places and wear nice clothes since she is a singer? Then only Sun can reach the masses through her songs? How about the rest of the people such as my friends – who did not have enough. You mean to say they cannot spread Christianity?

Ai Suan Suzanne: Yes, I’ve watched it too. I was also puzzled why she was addressed as pastor. Just now watched CHC service to check it out… still addressed as Sun throughout service. Don’t tell me Pastor Phil slipped his tongue and called her the way we used to before the Crossover.

Goes to show how much insincerity there is within certain religious circles.
That people would prefer to take a pastors word for it,rather than listen to the truth from the spirit God himself,is making out that the teachings
of Christ are futile.
The scripture says,”seek first the kingdom of heaven…”,not,”seek first the pastor and his manipulative self righteousness”.
Feeling the need to justify yourself in such a glib tongued fashion as Kong,shows his lack need for Gods forgiveness.
Kong Hee and Sun Ho are outright liars they have no integrity doesn’t surprise me that Phil Pringle is associated with this evil mess. The whole lot of them should be thrown in jail with the keys thrown away. They disgust me.

i feel he has used christianity for his own greed, donations are to expand the church ammenities and upkeep for the finance for the church for the comfort of their members and also used to organise programs for the youth and kids and adults too…And most of all is to help the needy members of the church..I havent heard of them giving out food rations to the poor nor hear of any donations for the poor..whereas some small time churches are constantly giving food donations and rations out to the poorer estate near my plc..I mean if a church is small and can have such a big heart in giving, what happen to the MEGA size church with so much funds???
a lesson learned for Ptr. Kong Hee, it only shows that even a preacher could lack wisdom in a certain point of his life. like king David and Solomon but they can still receive forgiveness from God, because God is gracious and full of mercy. sun ho is not the issue here, it is the GOSPEL of CHRIST and Ptr. Kong Hee that is subject on mocking. kong hee presents the gospel to the world and he must watchful like what apostle paul said. we love them, we have to pray for them.
