If you are still questioning if Kong Hee is a Word of Faith heretic, here is Kong at Presence Conference encouraging thousands of Christians to cast a “power of confession” on Steven Furtick to speak at City Harvest Church, Singapore.
We would like to remind our readers that this is not a Christian practice and must NOT be practiced.
Kong isn’t laughing. If you watch the clip, Kong is very determined to get Steven Furtick to speak at his church. The force is strong with the Kong.
We may be looking at doing an article on this if there are any questions as to why this is not a Christian practice.
Confusedmatic WOF ‘churches’ are certainly very popular with the confused young and old alike. Like the CYG mind control. these brainwashed confusedmatics will speak , confess, visualize to control the 4th dimension. Like sending out some vibrations as in the new age religion.
Power of confession is biblical that’s why we will have to give account for every word we speak. I know that I will get hammered for saying this on this site doesn’t worry me.
Kong Hee and the congregation are just saying to Steve Furtick that they want him to come and preach at his church and they are all praying together. What’s wrong with that all Steve has to do is clear a space in his diary, book at ticket and accommodation and go. Not rocket science.
“Power of confession is biblical that’s why we will have to give account for every word we speak. I know that I will get hammered for saying this on this site doesn’t worry me.”
What scriptures do you use to back up your claim that this practice is biblical? Have you examined the scriptures in context?
You might want to look up this specific doctrine in ‘Word of Faith’ cults to understand what this doctrine actually entails.
Annette,
Why do you say it is biblical? Can you quote the relevant verses and give me your significant personal real life example. I once heard an ‘evangelist’ preached this false teaching that really made me very angry. This preacher ,who must have read CYG’s book , rebuked the single ladies in the church for not doing enough positive confession and visualising for their God intended husbands to come into being. And so because of this lack of positive faith confession, they remained singles. And this is Biblical? More like sickening.
huh?
Y’al are so jaded in way you interpret things. It seems to me he wanted Pastor Steven to come speak at his church. What am awful existence you lead in tearing so many down. I’d suggest you put on a shirt (with a collar) use some hair product and go out an get a job.
Having been taught K Haggin’s teachings and come out of it, I am well versed with the teachings of positive confession ( and visualisation) as a key faith element to bring things into being. I remember a friend who was confessing he will have a new Mercedes car and was everyday confessing and imagining the car was parked in his car porch and everyday he was seen cleaning his imaginary car. Of course the car never came but maybe if he was some celebrity pastor some rich member might take pity on him and buy him one. In another case my wife happened to notice a friend who eyes were getting red and suggested she might be having some eye ailment and suggested she visit a doctor but instead got rebuked in Jesus’ name for making the negative confession. My long time experiences with these hyper ‘positive’ people made me relook into these WOF teachings. Now I remain a continuationist but never a WOF charismatic.
Coming back to the video, if Kong wanted S Furtick to come and preach in CHC, he could just ask him. What’s all this harnessing the whole congregation’s WOF power of positive confession and in trivialising the use of Jesus’ name ?
This is not tearing down people . This is tearing down false doctrines and contending for the faith built on the gospel the apostle preached(Gal 8-9). Many people including me have been rescued from the false health and wealth gospel because we have brethren who bother to stand up and contend for the faith and biblical truth. Of course there will be some who will not bother to examine scripture but prefer to remain brain washed by sermons based on WOF teachings, and so this website or blog is not for them.
Whats a continuationist?
There is Cessationism and a Continuationism.
Cessationism believes that the supernatural activity of the Holy Spirit ceased once the early church was established through it’s Apostles, healers and prophets, etc.
A Continuationist believes that the supernatural activity of the Holy Spirit continues to work to this day in similar fashion through the offices of Apostles, healers and prophets, etc.
Extreme sides of these doctrine can be very damaging.
That would be a very funny thing to see – somebody cleaning their imaginary car.
We are the body of Christ, Jesus said its better if I go (back to God) because when I leave God will give you the Holy Spirit. So yes the Holy Spirit works in us – exept even in a greater way as Jeaus said greater things will you do than I do.
What’s CYG? I don’t believe in name it and claim it, that’s taking things to the extreme and shows a wrong heart and motive. I’m just about to look up the scriptures to try and explain what I mean. I don’t believe in Kenneth Copelands teaching either and of course it’s stupid to believe for a Mercedes. I know that when you pray for something it has to be according to Gods which a person will pray in line with if your heart and motive is right. I’m really studying Gods word now so no-one can manipulate and lie to me. I’ll find the scriptures and try to explain what I mean. I don’t agree with Phil Pringle one bad thing I remembered from my time at c3 is when Phil used to say give an offering for the salvation of your loved ones I fell for those lies but now realise that there is nothing in the bible to back this up so I was manipulated and conned. my experience at c3 turned me off church and I certainly won’t let myself get conned, bullied and manipulated again ( by the grace of God)
I meant that when you pray for something it has to be according to Gods will not our own ideas and plans.
I can see what this site is saying – the power of confession – believing and speaking, as kong her says in the video. First scripture I’ve just read is James 4:13-17
Now listen to me, you say that today or tomorrow we will travel to a certain city where we will stay a year and go into business and make a lot of money. You dont even know what your life tomorrow will be! You are like a puff of smoke, which appears for a moment and then disappears. What you should say is this: “If the Lord is willing we will live and do this or that” But now you are proud and you boast; all such boasting is wrong. So then, the person who does not do the good he knows he should do is guilty of sin.
So what they did is wrong, according to this scripture.
” I’m really studying Gods word now so no-one can manipulate and lie to me.”
We are incredibly excited for you Annette. We hope you grow into a deeper understanding of God and develop a mature level of discernment as you do so.
We were wondering if we should respond to you or do an article that exposes the ‘power of confession’ heresy. We are excited you actually stumbled across James 4:13-17. That was a key scripture we were going to us to show the error of the ‘power of confession’ heresy. Well done!
Thanks for your encouragement. I must say that there is spiritual power in the words we speak, our confessions. Eg if you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, died for our sins, you will be saved. Another scripture life and death are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat the fruit of it. (not exact words I don’t think). Confession is a big part of the christian walk.
In continuing my bible study in response to your wanting scriptures I have come across the principle of speaking to the mountains in our lives – Mark 11:22-26
And Jesus answering the disciples ( regarding the fig tree that Jesus cursed which subsequently died) said unto them “Have faith in God. I assure you that whoever shall say to the mountain, be removed and cast into the sea and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, he shall have whatsoever he says. Therefore I say unto you what things you desire when you pray, believe that you receive them and you shall have them. And when you stand and pray, forgive anything you may have against anyone so that your Father in heaven will forgive the wrongs you have done”.
The mountain is the problem in your life. The mountain is anything that is contrary to the Word of God in your life. A mountain is anything that is a barrier to you completing Gods will. It is our responsibility to speak to the mountain in our life.
Phew, that’s a lot of bible study for me, so much to learn.
Annette,
CYG is my short abbreviation for Cho Yonggi. My comments on positive confession is based on WOF teachings ( Kenneth Haggin is the father of the WOF charismatic teachings) in charismatic churches and Kong’s prayer is just that. I don’t know what you have in mind when you say that the power of confession is biblical. You say it is our responsibility to speak to the mountains in our lives. Can you give examples of the kind of mountains you mean. Can you explain exactly how you apply Mark 11 to your mountains and how do you exactly confess and speak to the mountains and let us see how different it is from the WOF or is it just the same ‘difference’.
I’ve just quoted scripture so how can you say it’s wrong. It’s what Jesus said. I’m not really sure how to apply it but there’s no way anyone can disagree with the instructions from Jesus.
I think what Jesus is talking about is the same as Paul is talking about in Ephesians regarding the armour of God. For we are not fighting against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world, the rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of this dark age. So put on Gods armour now! The word of God is the sword which the spirit gives us. Do this all in prayer, asking for Gods help. Pray on every occasion, as the Spirit leads. For this reason keep alert and never give up.
“So go in Jesus name”
Kong Hee is using the Lords name in vain in the above video. And not only that,Hee has roped everyone in the audience to do the same.Pointing the finger in a manipulative fashion, and then using the Lords name to ‘guilt trip’ Furtick into preaching at CHC,is not the recommended usage of Jesus name.
Dictionary.com defines vain as, “conceited, futile,” and to do something “in vain” is to attempt to do it “without effect.” Thesaurus.com defines vain as, “egotistical; useless” and “failing to achieve a goal.” Even more revealing is the word “vain” as used in Exodus 20:7, which in the Hebrew is the word “saw,” meaning, “Deceit, lie, or falsehood.”
Furtick has the audacity to preach deception,so it fitting for the Deceptor-Kong,to entice Furtick with the same tactics.
Thats exactly what phil pringle used to say ( and probably still does) to try and belittle and control anyone who dares to disagree with him.
This comment is a reply to Jeff Ekhert (obviously from Steve Furticks church).
