More jaw-dropping news has emerged…
$192 m Sun Project
OVER the course of two years, Kong Hee and American entertainment executive Jason Herz discussed possible plans to launch Ho Yeow Sun into the American music market. These included:
- Stars like Timbaland, Missy Elliot and Will:i:am to produce music for Ms Ho;
- A summer tour with Wyclef Jean, Akon and Rihanna;
- Engaging a Jamaican coach to help Ms Ho “grow in the Jamaican side that Wyclef wants to develop”;
- Gongfu training, dance training and possible speech and media training;
- For Ms Ho to be seen at important red carpet events.
The entire “Sun Project” in the US was going to cost more than US$150 million (S$192.4 million) over seven years and Ms Ho and Xtron’s net profit was projected at about US$27 million. But the first album, targeted for release in June 2010, never materialised. By then, investigation had begun into suspected irregularities in the church.

I’m sure a lot more could be done in the name of evangelism with $150million than a few failed albums.
I seriously don’t have words for this. THe more I think about it, the more I think the Crossover Project was just a disguise to get her a music career. And it failed.
So they figured they could take a talentless woman of average looks who was already on the wrong side of 40 and make her a star just by spending enough money? Unbelievable. They might as well have flushed the money down the nearest toilet.
And where in the plan as enumerated was the supposed “Cross Over” component? There’s nothing at all about God or evangelism, it seems. The only spiritual thing that appears there is Gongfu – an Eastern martial art whose roots are occultic and whose practitioners can draw on demonic power.
It appears that Kong Hee and Sun Ho have little wisdom, no business sense, and even less spiritual discernment.
You’re right, the more it goes on the less I think it was about evangelism.

Nothing wrong scrutinizing the situation and putting forth an opposing view but attacking someone’s looks, age and talent as an anonymous internet blogger is pretty gutless and not very Christian.
It undermines any credibility you might have for serious dialogue.

Hi Dean; I think you’ll find harsher critiquing of “artists” in Rolling Stone mag. Or if you’re on Twitter, there’s several good Oz music news feeds who make Rolling Stone look like saints. It’s called the music industry. Please don’t get a job there if you think this is harsh.

Not attacking anyone, just pointing out the obvious facts.
If you think I’m being overly harsh, you should check out the sort of press Sun is getting in Singapore, and the exact terms being bandied about with reference to her. So much for the church “being the head and not the tail” and “making an impact in the market place” according to the “cultural mandate”, eh?
And if I’m wrong, would you care to postulate an alternative theory as to why all her best efforts led to nothing but abject failure, notwithstanding the fact that Kong lavished on her the millions that he had misappropriated from the CHC building fund?
For bonus points, could you please advise us if the prophet Amos “undermined any credibility he might have had for serious dialogue” when he referred to the women of Samaria as “cows of Bashan”?

Dean …… if you openly support the china wine and Mr Bill tripe from Sun Ho and the millions wasted on this project …… then, I am sorry …… but you are the one who has lost credibility, along with Phil Pringle, John Bevere, Yonggi Cho, Paul Scanlon etc etc who have openly voiced their support to this couple. …… These are all leaders I once honoured and respected very much.
Correct me if I am wrong, but your bias as a C3 leader with close ties to CHC and KH is distorting your perception of what is actually going on …… the world can clearly see the hypocrisy of what is going on here ……. it is time for the church to take off their blinkers and wake up!!
I once gave money in an offering to Kong Hee and Sun Ho at c3 presence 2011 to help cover some of their legal expenses ….. in good faith ….. but phil did not share details of the charges brought against them …… I gave as a blind sheep following the blind …… well, I am glad that details have now been made public …… and am not very impressed that PP did not reveal this to his congregation when all these offerings were going on (and are still going on as of Presence 2013). How can that be ok?
another thing ……. why is KH allowed to preach, travel business class, stay in 5-star accommodation and take up offerings at C3 conferences when this case is still hanging over their heads?
at the end of the day, may the truth be brought to light and may God’s will be done.
one more thing …… for my family’s protection who are still involved in c3 ….. I am glad I can remain anonymous …… and still have a voice .,….. yet without the fear of harmful consequences from c3 leadership.

We can see why you say that. However, it’s a hard to make it big when the world expects to see high performance, artistic, talent and well… attractive people. Zorro was pretty blunt but it is a valid observation.
What person starts their music career so late? The odds were always against her in regards to skill, performace, looks and original talent. Just throwing big money and big names at Sun Ho doesn’t make her more attractive or skillful.
It surprises us Dean that you don’t think that C3 doesn’t think the way Zorro does when they select worship leaders for their conferences. They’ll choose the young fake-tan, golden girl with a tiara who can’t sing any day. They can’t risk having an ugly huge woman who can sing perfectly. C3 can’t be seen promoting old fat people. Phil Pringle would tell you something similar to that in his books ‘Faith’ and ‘Moving In The Spirit’.
What on earth was the Crossover Project all about? Even $1M dollars promoting existing Christian artists would have done so much more. Why in the US, they have plenty of established Christian artists there. Why a Hollywood lifestyle, pure madness and a pure scam. Surely if they are really trying to reach out to the lost then it would be in Singapore/East Asia.
Clearly their Advisory Pastor is accountable for much of this – explains a lot.
This is indefensible. Truly. The only cure is repentance and God’s mercy. May he have mercy on their souls, and on those who would defend these deceivers. The Scriptures are clear about what true believers should do in reponse to the actions of those who would call themselves brothers and sisters in Christ. They are to be warned, and if they refuse to repent, they are to be kept out of fellowship until they repent. How could anyone with a regenerate heart and mind think God would bless this outrageous, ungodly, self-exalting misadventure.
There clearly is no fear of the Lord in Kong Hee, his wife, or in anyone who continues to associate with them. Fear of the Lord compels believers to deal swiftly and biblically with sin within the Body of Christ. Where is the church discipline here? It is as absent as their fear of the wrath of the Almighty God. This is not opinion, this is the very Word of our dear Lord and Saviour through his servant Paul. Other pastors and leaders within C3 should know their Bibles well enough to know this, and be acting accordingly.
If you are reading this, and truly believe that there is anything defensible in this situation, please, please read your Bible and pray to the Lord for open eyes and ears. Don’t seek a ‘word of knowledge’ or a vision, just READ and PRAY. May the Lord bless you in your search for his truth!

Christian pop stardom appears charming,
But this exemplary of the ‘Christian walk’ gives Christians a lack of enthusiasm to serve.
Serving Christ does not come with worldly vanity. Usually serving means being willing to do the hard or the mundane, and without any recognition.
The nursery worker isn’t ‘greatly’ praised for the way he changes diapers. The janitor doesn’t get ‘greatly’ thanked for stocking urinal cakes. Serving without recognition is good for us. It reminds us that we are not in it only for the self, but because we are interested in bringing glory and honor to Jesus.
Rock Star Christianity ultimately focuses on us.
Receiving salvation from Christ…GOOD!.
If we as Christians don’t fight against the evils of our day, then who will? So many pastors are AFRAID to raise any commotion in their congregations or “rock the boat” for fear of losing financial support. I thank God that I do not have to kiss up to anyone to say what needs to be said on this website. I give you the truth!

This is crazy…. The music industry does not normally operate this way and this all would have come out and she would never ever have had any kind of credibility…. Wyclef has seen a cash cow and jumped on it…. One of the safest things in this situation is that he has sold out worse than I’ve ever seen anyone sell out…. I wonder what Lyraun Hill would have to say about this as she is a strong believer in god and hates consumerism and no doubt talentless artists.
