Think happy thoughts!
Thanks to Dr. Caroline Leaf, you too can live an “upgraded” life.
“Julie also realized she no longer had to drive around in her old 1998 Navy Blue Toyota Corolla Seca. She could upgrade to a new white Audi A1 – which she loves. Go Jules!”
If you think God wants you to “upgrade” your life like this, then you’re not following “…..the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints” Jude 1:3. You’re following the religion of WOF/Prosperity cults. C3’s EVERYWOMAN site reported this heretical promotional piece on Julie Maconachie and Dr. Caroline Leaf:
TIME TO UPGRADE – TALKING WITH JULIE MACONACHIE
Everyone who knows Julie Maconachie, loves Julie Maconachie. A relaxed, fun-loving, ‘together’ friend, skilled pastor, sought after primary school teacher, engaging communicator, frequent patron of good cafes on the Northern Beaches, surfer chick, and a lady who never stops learning (she is currently part way through a MA in Christian Studies, majoring in Leadership). Julie is a great lover of people and is greatly loved by people. However, like many of us, there are areas of her heart and mind, which have been clouded, and even damaged by some past circumstances she has faced and the false truths of the world which have crept in over time. Four months ago she found herself writing in her journal, “I don’t like myself. I’m not happy with where I’m at physically, emotionally or even spiritually. Something has to change”. And that’s when, through a divine set of events, Julie was introduced to Dr. Caroline Leaf’s “Switch On Your Brain 21 Day Detox Plan – The Key to Peak Happiness, Thinking and Health”. Dr Caroline Leaf is a communication pathologist and audiologist who has worked in the area of cognitive neuroscience since 1985. Joyce Meyer says of her work, “I am amazed at Dr Leaf’s ability to merge science and the Bible, and teach us the science and Scripture behind the amazing, God-given power we have within our minds”. So Julie started the 21-Day Detox Plan, which generally takes just 7-10 minutes per day. “It’s like having a life-coach to motivate you every morning”, says Julie. The Bible teaches us in Romans 12:2 NLT “but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” This is something that supernaturally happens over the course of time as we connect and journey with God. However, Dr Caroline Leaf has found a way to walk us through the process hand-in-hand and help us step in to the untapped potential and ability we have to successfully process our way through life with Him. When I asked Julie how God has changed her, she said: “The Lord gave me the scripture Psalm 139:14-18 which immediately upgraded the value I place on myself to reflect the high value God places on me. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts,[a] God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand—
when I awake, I am still with you.
As I progressed along the 21 days, issues of rejection, disappointment, fear and feelings of not being good enough surfaced. He spoke to me so powerfully through Ephesians 1:4-6: For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will – to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. God has rewired me to accept, understand and behave according to the value He places upon me. He’s brought me back to my first love, the beautiful fresh feeling of discovering Him all over again. But this time, it’s coupled with the history of our relationship and what we’ve walked through and overcome together, so there’s a greater depth. It’s fun discovering with the Holy Spirit, new truths, having a clear understanding of what’s important (and not important) in my day to day life and rediscovering the simplicity of my calling, to love Christ, be His companion and brings others into relationship with Him. I feel free.” Julie also realized she no longer had to drive around in her old 1998 Navy Blue Toyota Corolla Seca. She could upgrade to a new white Aldi A1 – which she loves. Go Jules! Julie now uses Dr. Caroline Leaf’s truths and findings as a key tool in her day-to-day pastoring and has seen incredible results in the lives of others. Dr. Caroline Leaf will be our Guest Speaker at Everywoman NOW I SEE Conference, 31 Oct – 1 Nov at C3 Oxford Falls – visit everywomangathering.com for more details. Ladies, let’s value ourselves enough to take 7-10 minutes aside each day to look after ourselves and prepare spiritually for this revolutionary teaching by getting a hold of the 21 Day Detox Plan. Check out21daybraindetox.com for more information. I’m in! Who’s with me? Love, Kirrily Kirrily Smeallie is wife to Dave, mother to beautiful Kayla and little Maybel, and is a key pastor at C3 Church City Campus. ‘”[Julie Maconachie] found herself writing in her journal, “I don’t like myself. I’m not happy with where I’m at physically, emotionally or even spiritually.”.’
So after all these years of attending C3, after all these years in “leadership” there, and after all these years hob-nobbing with the “anointed apostle” Phil Pringle and his high-flying mates, the end result was that Julie Maconachie ended up mired in self-loathing? Whatever happened to being “bright, relevant, and contemporary”? Whatever happened to being “the head and not the tail”? Whatever happened to being “Spirit-filled”? Obviously Phil Pringle is worse than useless as a discipler (perhaps we could double-check that fact by asking Kong Hee). Clearly Phil’s “teaching” is worthless, given that his precious C3 cult has a demonstrably deleterious effect on those who have been sucked into it, as so frankly admitted by Julie Maconachie. Apologists for Phil Pringle are apt to claim that his ministry “changes lives” – clearly he has changed Julie Maconachie’s life, but sadly for her, it hasn’t been for the better.
‘The Bible teaches us in Romans 12:2 NLT “but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” […] Dr Caroline Leaf has found a way to walk us through the process hand-in-hand and help us step in to the untapped potential and ability we have to successfully process our way through life with Him.’
So the Bible teaches us that we can be transformed, but we need “Dr” Caroline Leaf’s assistance to successfully effect such change? When you have someone being touted as the holder of a secret key to unlock the power of God in your life, then you are dealing with gnosticism. When you are asked to follow “steps” to unlock the power of God in your life, then you are dealing with self-effort; that is to say, you are dealing with works.
The truth of the matter is that the Holy Spirit is the one through whom the power of God is unlocked in our lives, and the basis on which He does so is by faith, and by faith alone – not by works. Caroline Leaf is revealed, therefore, as a complete and utter fraud who flatly contradicts the Word of God, and who, by so doing, makes God out to be a liar.
“Julie also realized [sic] she no longer had to drive around in her old 1998 Navy Blue Toyota Corolla Seca. She could upgrade to a new white Audi A1 […]”
So the fruit of the Spirit is an upgrade to an expensive European car, is that right Julie? It’s too bad that Jesus didn’t know “Dr” Leaf so that he could take advantage of her extensive learning and become acquainted with her secret knowledge, isn’t it? Then he could have made his triumphal entry into Jerusalem in style, rather than having to ride on the back of a borrowed donkey.
If ‘julie’ had all these problems..why didn’t C3 get andrew kubala on the scene?
Why didn’t he just wave it all away? Why didn’t phil pringle do anything?
Alas..as i read the c3 ‘propaganda’ that ignores the Bible and increasingly substitutes new-age fluff ..It sounds very much like: “Yes, yes, bible…yes, yes, spiritual….New Car? now THAT is what God [me] wants. Sign me up!”
Please c3, leaf, and other frauds…sign me OUT.
‘[Julie Maconachie] found herself writing in her journal, “I don’t like myself. I’m not happy with where I’m at physically, emotionally or even spiritually.”’
And there is a reason why: Julie has realised at some level – perhaps subconsciously – that Phil Pringle has been been lying to her for all these years, and that her faith in him has been misplaced. The prosperity gospel, with all its deceit – the twisting of Scripture and the misrepresentation of God Himself – has yielded its bitter fruit in Julie’s life. Julie’s attempts to suppress her gnawing doubts have led to stress in her life, and that stress has built up to a point where she is now beginning to suffer from depression. This is what eventually happens with cognitive dissonance, and, if Julie doesn’t deal with it in an appropriate manner, she will become emotionally ill, and eventually physically ill as well (even as she is now quite unwell spiritually from having uncritically accepted C3’s warped and perverse “theology” over an extended period of time).
“As I progressed along the 21 days, issues of rejection, disappointment, fear and feelings of not being good enough surfaced.”
And who is it who has made Julie feel so unworthy? Why Phil Pringle of course, with his works-based religion that denies the power of the cross and ties up heavy loads for the backs of his blinded followers – those who are left alienated from God and rendered altogether ignorant of His grace, which He freely bestows on those who simply believe.
So what has Julie done to address this issue? Well…
“Julie also realized she no longer had to drive around in her old 1998 Navy Blue Toyota Corolla Seca. She could upgrade to a new white Audi A1 […]”
Retail therapy. Julie bought herself a shiny new toy, something with which to assuage that mental discomfort, something to suppress the disconcerting and ever-present feeling that something just isn’t right. And it will work – but only after a fashion, and only for a very brief period of time, because it has only addressed the symptom, rather than dealing with the root cause of the problem. The correct solution, as so many others have experienced, is to leave the bondage of C3 and accept the freedom that comes in Christ, as it is written:
“Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”
Agree with you CW.
What i find horrific and absolutely fake, are statements from c3 such as: “Julie now uses Dr. Caroline Leaf’s truths and findings as a key tool in her day-to-day pastoring.”
A KEY tool in pastoring? So i guess it must be important, maybe even MORE important than the Holy Bible? Did the Holy Apostles know about this?
OF COURSE NOT. THIS IS FAKE !
I have had enough of houston/pringle and co inserting this money-making nonsense as some kind of ‘anointed’ instruction to line their pockets.
In my opinion, websites like this have called their bluff and exposed their woeful lack of Biblical knowledge and money-hungry, degraded character.
Upgrading interpretation of abundant life to abundant lifestyle.
‘Joyce Meyer says of her work, “I am amazed at Dr Leaf’s ability to merge science and the Bible […]”.’
I am amazed at the bare-faced effrontery of Joyce Meyer, who knows even less about science than she does about the Bible, and is manifestly unqualified to express an opinion on either of those things.
(As an aside, anyone who is interested should have a look at the “About” page on Joyce’s web site. There is a stunningly cringe-worthy photo of Joyce and her husband, with both her husband’s positioning in the shot and his exaggeratedly submissive posture showing that he very much recognises and defers to his wife’s headship in the marriage. Obviously Joyce doesn’t think that God has a problem with her wearing the pants, since she’s the bread-winner – it’s all very Scriptural, I’m sure).
Those smiles look ominous, [maybe it’s the botox..but..] If i was a sheep..i would be a little scared that my hind leg could be taken for a sunday dinner.
Keep warning Christians against Dr Leaf teachings. I just realise how dangerous she is, after seeing so many likes and positive sharing about her on facebook. Renewing the mind through some scientific understanding of the mind and through the practice of some mind exercise and gymnastics is a big advancement since the days of gurus like Clement Stone and Napoleons Hill. But this totally different to what the bible teaches about renewing of the mind. Biblically renewal of the mind is not pyschological or brain washing through the power of positive thinking or positive confession or repetitive praying in ‘tongues’. It is the divine work of the Holy Spirit though our intake of God’s word into our hearts, and whereby the Holy Spirit convicts us of the truth of God’s word and gradually changed our hearts and mind to that of Christ. Through the work of the Holy Spirit our hearts, our minds are renewed. This is not psychological but divine work that change our mindset and worldview to be in line with the word of God. That how lives are transformed, sanctified and minds transformed to the mind of Christ and not conformed to the world. Matt 15 reminds us to abide with the true vine so that we bear much fruit. How some Christians can easily accept this Dr leaf teachings are signs of endtimes.
Re the car:
a) agree CW – retail therapy which gradually wears out – like the new car smell.
b) I remember Vicky Simpson once preaching about how she was praying for a new car and ended up getting this absolute clanker.
c) Jules better keep tithing otherwise she’ll have a crash because she’s cursed and have a high excess (hmm maybe just like how those councillors opposed Phil and died, remember?)
d) a girl I dated had a late 90’s Corolla – and there was some special about it which has never been replicated in the numerous cars I’ve had since. Something unspeakable.
” I remember Vicky Simpson once preaching about how she was praying for a new car and ended up getting this absolute clanker.”
Ah, Vicki Simpson – that garrulous and ignorant individual who has a voice that is very much in search of a coach.
Where on earth do C3 find these “pastors” of theirs, anyway? And if these sad and wholly untalented try-hards represent the cream of the C3 crop, what should we assume regarding the quality of all those aspiring individuals from the unwashed masses who can’t make the cut?
“Can’t remember [Vicki Simpson] singing really.”
It’s actually her talking to which I was referring; she has a voice that is both ugly and annoying (she should probably be looking to break into the media, where they seem to view such attributes as big positives, along with the now-obligatory functional illiteracy).
“apparently, he [phil pringle] doesn’t have enough faith for that, and he appears destined to remain a little-known second-stringer among the ranks of the mega-church “leaders”

PP may be trying to work his way up the ladder..

Mind if i ask…where’s Kong and chinawine? Phil? You were ‘brothers’ once!
But i do love those ‘testimonials’ on their resume:
“broadcasts in more than 200 countries.”
“which is seen in over 170 nations.”
The Simpsons TV cartoon series covers more nations than all of them combined..and is probably more truthful.
“Mind if i ask…where’s Kong and chinawine?”
Kong Hee is such an embarrassment to Phil Pringle, isn’t he?
Hey Phil, if Kong was your good friend with whom you felt such a close bond, how is it that he has turned out to be nothing but a common criminal? How about the fact that he is a pathological liar, and yet you, as a “prophet”, had no idea that he was conning everyone? And why was Kong Hee “tithing” to himself, Phil? Perhaps you yourself taught him that nifty little trick, because he has stated “Phil Pringle taught me everything I know about running a church”.
Are you going to visit Kong when he’s in gaol, Phil? You could drop in at CHC to “preach” there, and I’m sure you’d be happy enough to travel to Singapore for the money, if not out of loyalty to your erstwhile soul mate. (Talking of money, how much do CHC pay you each time you visit, Phil?)
thetruth, i know what youre saying..
and i agree, i would actually trust a prophecy from homer simpson before i would even consider one from witchdoctor cindy jacobs.
i dont know if everyones seen it but a couple yrs ago, witchdoctor cindy gave some bizarre prediction about the philippines that terrified them. of course it never came true, but this only adds to her credibility.
cindy jacobs is a liar.
remember guys, THE FOLLOWING NUTJOB is what individuals are choosing to put their faith & trust in, over the time-tested, proven, trusted & faithful Word of God.
nfg
She really is out of this world..and out of her mind.
Perhaps she can help Phil sorting out that warragamba dam ‘prophecy’.
The video refers to her as “Dr” Cindy Jacobs, which piqued my interest. Since we know how many false prophets tout dodgy credentials (or worse), I decided to check out her website bio, which states, inter alia:
“[Cindy] holds honorary doctorates from Asian Theological Association for her work with unreached people groups, and from Christian International in Santa Rosa Beach, FL.”
So Cindy Jacobs holds *honorary* doctorates, rather than the normal variety. There is nothing wrong with that per se – honorary doctorates can be most helpful for academic also-rans who suffer from low self-esteem (which group encompasses, of course, many mega-church “pastors” and “leaders”). Even for those who are moderately capable and fairly well-adjusted, honorary doctorates can be the source of a warm and fuzzy inner glow.
What you *can’t* do with an honorary doctorate, though, is use it as an excuse to take up the honorific “Doctor”, because that is deceitful. It amounts to intellectual dishonesty that would be unbecoming of anyone, but which is particularly deplorable among those who claim to be Christians.
(At least Cindy Jacobs is honest enough to be forthcoming with information regarding the nature of her doctorates, which is more than can be said for Phil Pringle. In fact, few references to Phil’s fake doctorate ever seem to be made, particularly in more recent times. It seems that Phil is acutely embarrassed at having been found out, as well he should be).
also.. CJ says “within 2 years”.. (of early 2009).
date typhoon haiyan: november 8, 2013.
someone’s spoof on those linking her prophecy to that typhoon 4+ yrs later:

Thanks nfg for putting up the links. Just took a look at the 2nd one [ Jerusalem 2015 leadership]. Old Gordon Moore is there..long way from Bridgeman Downs, QLD buddy!
Might have to take myles monroe off the list.
Good old USA ‘super apostle’ bill johnson is there..I wonder if he has the nerve to teach Gordon, or brian houston, or margaret court his ‘grave-sucking’ technique?
I kid you not…google it…these people are sick. [google hint:victory ministries, John Lakes’ grave].
‘grave-sucking’
Sounds a bit like the interment of a Hoover salesman.
youre welcome, thetruth.
i am not familiar with gordon moore.
but i am familiar with ‘grave sucking’, & i agree with you its weird. ive seen a couple videos where nar ppl film themselves at gravesites (like you said at someone like “general” john g lake’s grave) acting like they get annointed there.
i would add word-faith’er benny hinn in with the nar grave-suckers. reading a couple paragraphs starting at this..
“Hinn has publicly stated that Kuhlman’s grave carries a supernatural “anointing.” He alleges the same effect from the body and grave of Aimee Semple McPherson.”

————————————————
on cindy jacobs, i was surprised when i noticed how high she is in nar.
i consider this cindy jacobs’ opinions to carry more weight in nar than bill johnson’s.
i noticed she founded “Generals International”. what does that imply we might ask? to me it implies “WE ARE THE GENERALS. WE SPEAK TO YOU, WE SPEAK FOR YOU, YOU LISTEN TO US.”
more mediators between God and we toilet-cleaner types in the Body of Christ.
and how about this.. she is the co-leader of the APOSTOLIC COUNCIL OF PROPHETIC ELDERS with peter wagner himself. yet bill johnson is “only” a council member on acpe.
————————————————-
lately i have found several other influential nar false teachers that are almost entirely under the radar of discernment sites. and nar followers are taking them very seriously.
nfg
one other thing i was going to add, was on that leaders page you also find charles blake of COGIC..
http://www.jerusalem2015.com/leadership/
COGIC is a big word-faith denomination, and they push ‘prophets’ a lot.
that david e taylor guy i posted a couple weeks ago, he was basically discovered in COGIC..
http://www.joshuamediaministries.org/facetoface/prophet
‘prophet’ manasseh jordan is also a big favorite with COGIC. i read jordan makes big money ministering even one night at a COGIC event..

C3Churchwatcher/ Hillsongwatcher – you rightfully earned your place on the late Ken Silva’s blog. http://apprising.org/
Regular contributors – He set the standard for Christian discernment bloggers. He exposed false teachers/ preachers by clearly proving how they had strayed from Christian *doctrine*.
False teachers get away with their scams (e.g. tithes/ donations = automatic blessing from God) because their followers believe their lies. Attack their lies with the truth and their power over their followers can be broken.
An older relative once told me “in a debate, the first person who attacks the other person has lost the debate”. Please don’t let yourself get drawn into that trap via the likes of Q and Steve.
There has recently been a fair bit of argy-bargy on this thread. but the posts relating to that particular discussion have now been removed.
I think that this is fair enough, given that our position had been well-stated and that various points pertaining to that position had been discussed at length. It is important that we should remember that the primary goal of this site remains to hold false teachers accountable, and we should therefore avoid the temptation to descend into acrimony (in particular if our actions may tend to drive traffic to web sites that we would be just as happy to see existing in splendid isolation).
Cheers, Team ChurchWatch
“It’s only a matter of time until they stop using the Holy Bible altogether for not being modern enough, and substitute their own wild fantasies.”
thetruth, interesting point you brought up. check this out.. wolf bill johnson messing with his followers’ heads. notice the title one of his followers put on this clip.
minute #1: bill spending the very 1st minute knocking the Bible
minutes #2-9: bill spending the following EIGHT mins elevating miracles
this is wicked, casting any doubt on the importance of the Bible.. to maintain control.
nfg
Thanks nfg..haven’t seen it until now.
Bill johnson will use the Holy Word of God to deny the Holy Word of God. The ultimate rebellion.
The rebellion against the Bible as the Word of God continues from the garden of eden until now with these false teachers.
Bill johnson: 2min54: “It’s prostituting a relationship”
Yes bill, and guess who the prostitute and harlot is, who seeks to rebel against the Word of God, to destroy it and substitute their own doctrine for gain? It’s you.
They are shameless. Where is Jesus Christ in this? Nowhere.
Where is the Biblical knowledge “to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.” Isaiah61:1 …Nowhere.
Obviously Bill needs to read James 5 first.
“The Bible teaches us in Romans 12:2 NLT “but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” This is something that supernaturally happens over the course of time as we connect and journey with God. However, Dr Caroline Leaf has found a way to walk us through the process hand-in-hand and help us step in to the untapped potential and ability we have to successfully process our way through life with Him.”
As per usual, the exegesis here is non-existent. When I went to bible college, I was taught that context was extremely important and they have ironically, (and quite commonly as it turns out for dodgy cult leader types) left out the very part of the verse which accuses them. We are told not to conform to the world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds (how is that achieved – reading the word and ‘hearing’ the gospel), not, ‘changing the way you think’ which is very New Age and not of God at all. Romans 12:1 tells us to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God which is our reasonable service (sorry not exact quote). Therefore, Romans 2 is about dying to our own fleshly indulgences not about setting oneself up as a life coach.
These charlatans wouldn’t get a look in if church leaders were more concerned with rightly dividing the word of God. If more of them understood the power of the Gospel to change and empower our lives, they would be far more likely to defend it than allow doctrines of demons to overwhelm the flock.
