Chris Rosebrough from “Fighting for the Faith” recently reviewed Phil Pringle’s sermon, “Parable of the Dog.”
Phil Pringle bases this message not on Scripture, but rather, on his own life experiences. This means the title is misleading since Phil Pringle isn’t teaching a parable (it’s an anoalogy).
Furthermore, Pringle pushes a works based righteousness whereby you’re saved by your good works rather than trusting in the assurance of the Gospel that Christ died for your sins and all who trust in Him are forgiven.
Rosebrough used this sermon to expose the problems with the false “Lordship” doctrine. This doctrine is designed by cult leaders to control people using reward and fear-like tactics. Considering the work of Ivan Pavlov’s “Respondent conditioning” (aka Pavlov’s Response) using dogs, it is interesting that Pringle parallels the behaviour of the “dog” with the behaviour of the Christian. This school of psychological thought is called Behaviorism and was very popular last century.
One could argue that Lorship doctrine is a spiritualized version of “respondent conditioning.” And when you hear the review, you will be hearing Pringle pit God’s salvation against God’s Lordship, which is blasphemous. This is why he was insinuating towards the end one can lose their salvation if they do not tithe.
Here is the sermon review:

We listed to the DOG parable over the weekend, we had to turn it off after Phil started barking and barking like a dog – this barking went on for some time. It was honestly very disturbing. He is just getting worse and worse and of course as always his 4th point was to give him and his family business more money via tithing.
Dizzy- as hard as it is to listen to the “barking”, it’s worth pushing through so you actually hear Chris Rosebrough biblically refute Pringle’s false doctrine. This then “arms” you, as a former C3 member, with the ability to point out Pringle’s error to others.
Dont worry this little powder monkey went back and listened to the end… I listen every night to Chris and have learned much about the Bible
I shared a comment from this site last week on my Facebook. The comments that came back from the Phil and Brian protectors were incredible in the end I had to de-friend them. I have never had to do this before on FB. Their blind faith in these “Hard working men of God” was shocking. The fact that all the Building Fund money can be traced leaving the C3 accounts ever year should wake them up. But it doesn’t they have blind faith and keep on giving and going without.
That’s fantastic Dizzy, “Fighting For The Faith” and Chris Rosebrough’s ministry has had a huge impact on many around the world.
What a load of rubbish.i attended this church every sunday 4 a couple of years.it does hv sum gr8 ppl and they do sum good work in the community but they hav 2 make it look legit.but the more i look back, its just a market place for giving and buying, my understanding is u r not allowed to make a living off the word of God.they play the right music and sing the right songs.all car salesman.u hv phil pringle asking big $$$$ 4 his rubbish paintings hanging on the walls of church and the pastors wife flogging her childrens books on the table. If u dnt give u r made 2 feel guilty. Does God really care 4 =$$$? And kong hees famous words at a convention i attended “10pc is not giving, thats Gods” and “empty your wallets”.
You foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you ,before whose eyes Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified?
This is the the only thing I want to hear from you: did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law or by hearing with faith?(Gal 3v.1-2)
Paul doesn’t muck around – he calls this type of legalistic teaching witchcraft. A very heavy accusation- a very spiritually dangerous matter. And it’s so widespread.
Funny thing is, often later on preachers like that will do a big seminar on Grace and their doctrinal statement will be “salvation by faith alone” but it’s just lip service.
I wonder if they really realise what they’re doing to the gospel or if they’re deceived themselves ‘ blind guides leading the blind’?
