Christian City Church International

C3i CONSTITUTION

Purposes, Goals and Objectives

1. To promote a network of relationships, to give support, encouragement and instruction to pastors and their churches.

2. To build, increase, expand and grow the Church of Jesus Christ through the evangelization and discipleship of all residents of the nations in which we are present – in harmony with Matt 16:18, and obedience to Matt 19;20.

3. To develop and deploy ministries.

4. To promote the Kingdom of God in its fullness and encourage its expansion through the birthing, planting and maintaining of churches structured after New Testament principles.

5. To provide fellowship and pastoral care for Christians in our churches.

6. To promot the Christian faith according to New Testament parameters throughout the world by the preaching of God’s Word through all means possible.

7. To provide order, discipline and requirements as such that keep our Christians from immorality, ungodliness, deceptions and any other practices threatening to bring dishonour to the Lord, His church or His ministers.

8. To obtain properties, equipment, machinery, and chattel to aid the fulfillment of all the above.

9. To solicit funds to aid the fulfillment of all the above.

10. To maintain a good reputation and continuing fellowship with the Body of Christ at large.

11. To understand and regularly re-evaluate our “particular” calling (prophetic voice) and to be faithful in conducting our ministries to include such. This will also embrace the unchanging principle of our churches speaking a coherent message to the world and the church and to execute New Testament principles in a culturally relevant manner suitable to the context of our calling. Thus, there is no particular “style” of Christian City Church except that of Godly principles and character. The style of our presentation will necessarily be different according to our local environment.

12. To conduct our lives and ministries so that we are fruitful.

13. To promote the glory of God and the exaltation of Jesus Christ.

Constitution

CCCI is a fellowship of ministers and churches in Jesus Christ.

Privileges of Membership

Membership in this fellowship and permission to use the name Christian City Church is dependent on the observance of the following requirements.

Pringle Says A C3 Pastor “Was Being Sued”?

Phil Pringle was being interviewed by the Word of Faith heretic Joyce Meyer on her show, ‘Enjoying Everyday Life’. Pringle said the following:

“And then one day this guy- um. You know I went to him and said, ‘Look! I’m not coping. You know, I’m- we had one missionary girl who’d been killed in the Phillipines. We had one pastor who was being sued. Umm… Our- the property that we’re trying to get past to be had been defeated three times over an eight year period at council. We are on national news, being hounded by current affair programs and cameras. And you know and- I had five things going on all at once and I felt like. . . and they’re calling us all kind of names in the press n’ whatever. We’re on the front page of newspapers n’ whatever…” – Phil Pringle, Enjoying Everyday Life, Joyce Meyer – The Process of Emotional Healing Part 1: 03:32, http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5254068187914757299, Uploaded 2009.

If anyone knows any information on the C3 missionary that was killed or the C3 pastor being sued, please contact us at c3churchwatch@hotmail.com.

As for Phil Pringle and the C3 Church, it is of our opinion that Phil Pringle exaggerated on Joyce Meyers program that Phil Pringle and his C3 Church movement were “on the front page of newspapers.” We have not seen this.

We would also like to point out that according to Pringle’s theology on faith, he lost his faith three times due to his three defeats with council. Why isn’t his teaching working?

We will be examining this Joyce Meyers video in a later article.

What Is Sun Ho’s Position At CHC?

[Edit 29/08/2015: Broken original images repaired.]

We have recorded Kong Hee stating that “Sun is not a pastor“. But we have recorded Sun Hee say ‘I know that I represent City Harvest Church‘, when expressing her gratitude of Phil Pringle’s involvement with their affairs. She said this at Phil Pringle’s C3 Presence Conference 2012. So is Sun Hee a pastor not? What is her position in all this?

Ian.OnTheRedDot shines a bit of light on Sun’s position in City Harvest Church,

Is She Pastor Ho Yeow Sun?

Is Ho Yeow Sun a pastor? If you are familiar with City Harvest Church, you probably would not have missed the controversy that surrounded her when she entered the secular music industry; a controversy based on arguments that it was inappropriate for a pastor to do so. I’ve read that the church leaders have in recent years sought to distance her from the tag ‘pastor’. Personally, I have encountered this possible policy a few years back when I noticed that the church bulletin started addressing her differently.

That to me was rather disappointing – disappointing because of an article published by the magazine Harvest Times.

Pastor Sun Ho CHC Mag1Pastor Sun Ho CHC Mag2Pastor Sun Ho CHC Mag3

I found this magazine when i was packing for the moving of my house. The last scan shows that when she first started her career, there was the deliberate positioning to associate her as a music/singing pastor.

(From: Is She Pastor Ho Yeow Sun?, Ian On The Red Dot, http://ian.onthereddot.com/2008/10/19/is-she-pastor-ho-yeow-sun/, 19/10/2008. (Accessed: 03/07/2012.))

While a reader commented, “Although yeah her husband is the pastor and she did help out in church, I think the label Pastor Sun was totally media created,” (Spankalot, 20-Oct-08 at 9:23 am), the writer of the article stated:

“the magazine was published by the church. So the pastor tag was definitely not media created… the magazine is an old one… long before the controversy started…  I’m disappointed because I used to support her and what she was doing based on the premise that it was a pastor who was entering the secular music industry to make a difference there and not be part of it. Now that the pastor tag has been dropped, it seems the original reason has been lost.” – iantimothy, 12:31, 21/10/2008.

Looks like the Sun came out!

Ps Prasch: “Pringle Gets Involved In Things Like Amway & Pyramiding Schemes

[EDIT 08/07/2012: C3ChurchWatch wishes to report Jacobs Prasch’s opinion. We don’t necessarily agree with his views or this article. We met with Jacob Prasch last night – he recommended this article. We simply wish to report what other church leaders are saying about C3Church.]

Pastor and Teacher Jacob Prasch from Moriel Ministries wrote an article on Thessalonians 1 titled ‘The Mixture’.

In his piece, Prasch condemned many of Pringles fellow associates (including Yonggi Cho, Benny Hinn, Morris Cerullo and the Elim church movement) and those who influence him (including John Avanzini, Rick Joyner, Rodney Howard Brown, Paul Crouch, John Wimber and Peter Wagner).

Pastor Jacob Prasch writes (emphasis in bold),

“… Yet because of pop psychology, these biblical truths are distorted, ignored, or have even been heretically rejected. People are just told to ‘confess victory’, or ‘bind the enemy’ not meaning what God’s Word means by those terms, but actually meaning what positive thinking and motivational psychology means.

If one were to go to a secular motivational sales seminar for sales executives, a slick looking motivational speaker with a glossy charisma would prance around on a platform with a microphone saying things like

“There Are Three Steps”. “Step One – realize your vision”. “Step Two- forget the indicators or adverse circumstances, give no place to any negative thoughts – just focus on your goals and on your vision”.

“Step Three – Once you realize your vision and maximize the positive and forget the negative, you will be in a position to get others to invest in your vision”.

Thus , this secular psychology gets into the church masquerading as biblical theology. A hype artist preacher will stand up on Sunday and share “his vision”, and when questioned he will “Reject that negativity in The Name of Jesus”, and tell you “God wants it to be your vision too and you should sow to the vision”.

I have seen more churches get into financial trouble and loose people over this kind of psuedo-spiritual idiocy than I can count. One Kingdom Now/ Toronto maniac in the North West of England who came under the influence of anti Israel Restorationist preacher Rick Godwin literally got his church into massive debt on a massive building program not ordained of God, lost most of his flock , then began selling insurance part time to make ends meet and finally left the country. Another Pentecostal Church of the same denomination a short distance away got into a financial scandal over a scheme involving Christian retirement villas.

When of course the building program or whatever other scheme he cooked up turns out not to be God’s vision, but purely his own and things do not work out then it becomes a matter of “standing in faith resisting Satan”.

When people get fed up with being financially exploited and begin to leave the church, the heavy shepherding takes over and these people are told “they have a spirit of rebellion”.

All of this mess comes from the ‘Mixture’ of secular psychology and the vain philosophies of the world with biblical psychology and Christian doctrine. This same mixture is why we see so many Christians in churches like . . .  Preacher Phil Pringle’s City Church in Sydney get involved in things like Amway and in pyramiding schemes. Psychologised Christians are prone to such things because such schemes are based on psycho babel disguising itself as biblical principles. While there are ex-alcoholics who dried out through Alcoholics Anonymous groups and then were saved, we see so many people in 12 Step Programs on their way to hell not believing they need Christ because the mixture of biblical principles and pop psychology in such organizations misleading them into a subjective, universalist ‘God as I understand Him’ view of The Almighty instead of to The Cross of Jesus.

The theological root of this mixture is of course gnosticism, where a subjective mystical perspective of scripture ignoring the context is substituted for an objective exegetical perspective. Gnostics always use biblical terms but have different definitions for them. The gnosticism of Roman Catholicism is called sensus pleniore. The Roman Church will be quick to point out that they like classical Protestants believe salvation is by grace. By grace however, they do not mean the Hebrew word chesed meaning ‘God’s covenant mercy’, or the Greek term Charism meaning ‘gift’, nor the English definition meaning ‘undeserved favor’. The actual and sanctifying grace of Rome is not a gift of mercy or unmerited, but an ethereal substance earned by the paganistic sacraments of their spiritually corrupt false religious system. Yet etymologically, they believe in “grace”.

New Agers are Gnostics who also believe in “seeing the light” by which they mean realizing the cosmic illumination of the inner self. Many, copying Hinduism, they also believe in being “born again”, meaning reincarnation. Sufi Islam, Chassidic Judaism, and Mormonism are all false belief systems who use biblical terms with a different meaning. This is all part of the Gnostic maze, and whenever witnessing to such people we not assume that they mean what we do by the same words, but terms need to be carefully and biblically defined…”

An Article CHC And C3 Should Consider Reading….

02 Monday Jul 2012

Posted by Nailed Truth in Other

Tags

ccc, CHC, crossover project

Phil Pringle endorses the Crossover Project as a mission to reach the world. Pringle might want to rethink his statement. This is an article that both CHC and C3 pastors can learn from.

Why the Crossover Project should cost $0…

I am not a Christian.

I am the target audience of the Crossover Project.

The Crossover Project is at the heart of the ongoing saga of City Harvest Church (CHC) Charity in Singapore. The case goes that Pastor Kong Hee and friends had misused funds from CHC to fund his wife Ho Yeow Sun’s music career. And the amount used was a shocking $23 million.

I am not going to ponder on whether or not Pastor Kong Hee and friends are innocent or not – that is all going to be proven in due course.

The problem I have with the whole issue is that I have trouble understanding why there would actually be Christians supporting the hefty bill of $23 million of the Crossover Project. Why do some Christians feel that there is a need to buy over non-Christians with money or anything is a concept I cannot accept.

I can’t understand why some Christians would believe that faith can be bought over through the usage of music and weird music videos. If such faith, if any, was bought over, would such faith be actually true faith?

My first brush with Christianity happened when I was still in Primary One. One of my classmates nonchalantly asked me a question, “Are you a Christian?”

“No.”
“Then you will go to Hell. Since I am a Christian, I get to go to Heaven.”

Till today, I still have no idea what were her intentions behind such a statement. Was it to cower me into submission? All I felt was unfairness.

Both of us were then 7-year-old girls. We led similar lives. Why I should be condemned to an afterlife of eternal damnation was a concept I couldn’t wrap my head around. My mum was aghast when she found out that someone told her precious little girl she was going to Hell.

She didn’t have to worry. I didn’t believe in that comment. Not for a second.

So why didn’t I believe in that comment? I probably didn’t even know myself at that time but as I grew up, I came to the realization that I am an Agnostic. I don’t deny the existence of God, Heaven and Hell but I don’t know for certain whether or not they exist. And I believe that it is impossible to know for real, at least not in my lifetime.

So, like every non-Christian living in Singapore, I had my usual run-ins with the nice and the not-so-nice Christians trying really hard to convert me.

Fear had no effect on me. So what is the next method then? Well, the highest success rate of converting non-Christians would be through using relationships.

As a secondary school student, I was invited to go for a BBQ outing by a friend. It was only until I reached the destination did I realize that it was a CHC cell group outing. I didn’t think too much of it, after all, there was good food and everyone seemed nice.

It was only after the outing did I realize that I have fallen into a trap. It started innocently enough. One of them would call me out for a church outing. After I politely declined, another would call me. It took months of rejections before it finally stopped.

Later on, as I talked to my Christian friends about the reason behind why they chose Christianity, I realized that many of them had the same experiences as me. They were initiated in by a friend. The only difference was that they had continued contact with the group. They had at that period of time been going through the awkward stages of their teenage lives and welcomed the camaraderie and friendship. They felt like they had found a community that they belonged to.

I am grateful that they had received help by the churches’ communities in their times of need. I am thankful that because of the bonding, they became wonderful people I would end up being friends with. I wouldn’t deny that Christianity has helped a lot of people. I often wonder about their faith though – were they a Christian because they had a relationship with God or were they a Christian because they had relationships with other Christians? It seemed as though it was more of a social club than anything else.

If you have been a relationship with a Christian as a non-Christian, the odds are you might have heard something or felt the pressure along the lines of, “If you love me, you would become a Christian.”

Shouldn’t one become a Christian because they love God and have a relationship with God? Why should one become a Christian just because they have a relationship with other Christians?

It seemed as though some Christians have gotten their priorities all wrong. Christians shouldn’t use fear to convert people. Christians shouldn’t use relationships to convert people. Christians shouldn’t use music to convert people. Christians shouldn’t use money to convert people.

Please don’t say that you would need to be a believer to have a relationship with God. That is a paradoxical argument. In fact, the truth is Mother Teresa, one of the biggest icon of Christianity, did not feel God’s presence despite her unwavering faith and belief in him.

So what can Christians do to convert non-Christians then? I believe Christians should use God to convert people. Hm… I guess they can go around giving out the Bible and spreading the word of God.

Now, being an Agnostic made me open to the idea of both religion and Atheism. And like any bookworm, I was curious about the all-time bestseller book in the world – the Bible. I have read the Bible.

Ironically, the main problem I have with Christianity lies with the Bible. As a good Literature student, I believe in different interpretations of text.  To me, the Bible is just a book. And like any other book, there are countless of ways to interpret what was written in the Bible. It probably didn’t help that the Bible was written in such a confusing manner. I had so many questions that nobody could answer. Am I supposed to take a pastor’s words as the words of God? Ironically, every pastor was preaching different things – everyone had their own interpretations.

Who could possibly answer all of my queries? I doubt any pastor or anyone would be able to give me the right answers. So yes, I look forward to meeting the very man itself – God (if he did exist).

I have tons of questions to ask him. From serious questions like, “Do you actually have the power to help all people who are suffering or in need, at no cost or effort to yourself? If yes, why haven’t you done it yet?” to cheeky questions like, “Why do I need to fulfil certain conditions to get unconditional love?”

I am definitely not going to let him get away with the commonly used vague answer such as “God works in mysterious ways.” Not when it is so hard to book an appointment with him.

And once I have a meaningful heart to heart conversation with God – I would definitely wholeheartedly, without doubt, believe in him and his teachings.

The only way Christians can help me meet God?

Well, could you help me get hold of his personal secretary to let me make an appointment with him?

If not, please pray hard that one day God would grace me with his presence.

And like most good things in life – praying is absolutely free.

Phil Pringle is growing in apostate popularity among online Christian websites. Credit should be given to Pringle’s infamous advice how to manipulate people into ‘revival’.

Pringle Teaches How To Control & Fleece People

First he starred in Chris Rosebrough’s Museum of Idolatry:

Phil Pringle At Presence Conference 2012 In The Museum of Idolatry

Now ApostasyWatch stars on their site. ApostasyWatch (http://www.apostasywatch.com) has a section on their website titled ‘Wolves’. Pringle gets an honourary mention in their Wolves, ‘Expose; Videos’ section.

[Headsup: No admin from C3 Church Watch edited the Wiki article.]

Wikipedia has this to say about Phil Pringle and the C3 Movement,

“Members are taught that they are obliged to give a tithe to the church of 10% of their pre-tax (gross) income, with Phil Pringle himself having claimed that those who fail to do so are “robbing God” and that they are “cursed”.[7]” – C3 Church Global, Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C3_Church_Global, last modified on 01/06/2012 at 17:25. (Accessed 02/06/2012.)

The reference reads,

“^ Pringle, Phil. Keys to Financial Excellence (page 67).” – C3 Church Global, Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C3_Church_Global, last modified on 01/06/2012 at 17:25. (Accessed 02/06/2012.)

In ‘Keys To Financial Excellence’ on page 67, Pringle writes,

“The tithe has never belonged to us. The first tenth of our income is always God’s. As mature Christians, it should be unthinkable to hold our hand out for a blessing from God, when we have His property in our other hand.

The message of Jericho is clear: When we fail to obey God with regard to the tithe, we invite a curse into our lives-a curse that could bring with it the loss of many good things. If money that belongs to God is sitting in your bank account, the curse on that money will travel into that entire account, and it could very well dwindle away. If money that belongs to God has instead gone back into your business, then your business is in jeopardy.” – Phil Pringle, Keys To Financial Excellence, Key Twelve, The Message of Jericho, 2003, pg. 67.

Well done Wikipedia!

Guess what the address is to this place?

7255, Military Tr, Lake Worth, FLORIDA. Went to Google maps. There’s no ‘New Covenant International University’. Instead you stumble across an academy: Trinity Christian Academy. (Drag image to URL, to see bigger image.)

The address given of this place can be found here:http://epayroll.nasa.gov/documents/fppsTables/Colleges_Universities.txt?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true

This is their website: http://www.tcalw.org/

You can see that this is the correct institute from google maps because they have photos of the construction site of their new buildings on both google maps and their website. But after browsing endlessly on their church and the TCA website, there is no mention of New Covenant University, New Covenant International University or Kevin Dyson.

But this site may offer some information:http://www.statemaster.com/encyclopedia/Name-It-and-Frame-It%3F

Name It and Frame It? is a 1993 book by Steve Levicoff about Christian schools. He explores the accreditation process, good and bad institutions of higher learning. This work has four different editions, which contain updated information and responses from various groups. In the preface of the third edition Levicoff wrote about the book, “administrators at legitimately accredited Christian schools loved it, but the operators of degree mills weren’t too pleased.”

There are some very impressive ministry college names in the list in his book. The one that caught my eye was, ‘New Covenant International Theological Seminary‘, which is supposedly located in Honolulu, Hawaii. Thank you Steve Levicoff!

___________________________________________

Just to be sure this was the institute, I checked out the New Covenant International Theological Seminary:http://www.newcovenant.edu/index.php?page=home.

Read the ‘About Us’ here (Emphasis mine):http://www.newcovenant.edu/index.php?page=about-us2&PHPSESSID=e001e896d3b1d9ca604838def87de407.

HISTORY & BIBLICAL FOCUS

NCI was founded in Auckland, New Zealand in 1978 as a logical outgrowth of the recognition that all members of the local church body need appropriate forms and levels of training and equipping to be able to effectively do the work of serving those around them, as well as those in other nations.

In 1990 NCIU was incorporated in the United States as an independent, self-governing corporation where it remains to this day. NCI was established in relationship with the apostolic oversight of a local assembly of Christian believers at Lake Worth, Florida, as well as other ministry leaders from a broad spectrum. NCIU is a “user focused” institution that exists to serve the needs of the end-users, not simply to perpetuate knowledge for the sake of knowledge. Our chief end is to glorify God and Him alone in all that we do.

It is widely known that many fully engaged leaders and adults with careers, families and community involvement— with busy lives— often desire to further their education and be better equipped for their chosen task of Christian service, regardless of their vocational location.

To these people, NCI University & Theological Seminary offers an enriching learning experience that allows them to fit much needed education into their lives, rather than forcing them to fit their lives into education.

NCIU acknowledges that the local body of Christian believers and its community of members remain the primary place for planting and nurturing of biblical, foundational truth and meaningful spiritual experiences through what is termed “the Disciple-making Process”.

The “Disciple-making Process,” which is God’s prime weapon for extending His ever-increasing, unshakable kingdom throughout the nations and people groups of the entire earth, may take place within recognized structures or spontaneous, organic groups in the marketplace and beyond. The new life of faith needs to grow where it happens!

The necessity of this pivotal practice is under-scored by NCIU in the development and provision of appropriate foundation and disciple-making materials, such as are found in the Resources section of this website.

In the technology-driven twenty first century with the worldwide Internet providing adult learners with a more convenient global-focused education, this process is a basic task. The challenge, however, for NCI University & Theological Seminary is to make sure that this ‘convenience factor’ keeps technology as our servant and not our master. It also provides the global vehicle for us to be able to jointly engage in a genuine, educational, intellectually challenging and spiritually enriching experience.

It is because of the commitment to maintaining this academic standard and practical spiritual development that NCI University & Theological Seminary is able to provide culturally relevant and meaningful distance-learning, higher education programs, establishing it amongst the more innovative Christian institutions of higher learning.

NCI University & Theological Seminary also works alongside a number of campus-based Christian education providers on the five main continents and gives special recognition to their validated programs as equal components of the total learning requirements to receive specified, academic awards for religious, vocational purposes.

Go to this websites contact page:http://www.newcovenant.edu/index.php?page=contact

You will find an address and map (address sound familiar?). Click the image below to see the screen grab of where the map says this ‘University’ is. (Drag image to URL, to see bigger image.)

Enter this address into Google maps and you will find  this familiar location. (Drag image to URL, to see bigger image.)

It’s the same place. No university. The university’s information is wrong when it says, “In 1990 NCIU was incorporated in the United States as an independent, self-governing corporation where it remains to this day”.

___________________________________________

I quickly went over to this site to check if NCI University & Theological Seminary should be indeed considered a diploma mill:http://www.elearners.com/guide/online-colleges-universities-and-schools/diploma-mills/.

How can I tell if a school is a diploma mill?

  • They often have names similar to well-known colleges or universities, but fail to mention an accrediting agency or name a fake accrediting agency.
  • The organization frequently changes addresses, sometimes moving from state to state.
  • Written materials typically include numerous spelling and grammatical errors, sometimes on the diploma itself.
  • Overemphasis on the speed and brevity with which someone can receive a degree (e.g. “Call now and have your degree shipped to you overnight!”).
  • Degrees can be earned in far less time than normal (e.g. 27 days) or the diploma is printed with a specific backdate.
  • There is no selectivity in admissions, or any questions about previous test scores or detailed academic history.
  • No interaction with professors or faculty (e.g. only two emails are received from a professor).
  • Degree requirements are vague or unspecified, lacking class descriptions and without any mention of how many credit hours are required to complete a program.
  • Tuition and fees are typically on a per-degree basis.
  • Grade point average (GPA) and academic honors (e.g. Summa Cum Laude) can be specified at the time of purchase.

____________________________________________

Finally, I found this comment made by Lionfish on Groupsects:

“Dr Phil (Pringle) “earned” his doctorate from New Covenant International University in Florida writing a book about Acts.

Note that even on his own site he does not quote the Institution from where he “earned”” this qualification: Source:http://www.philpringlegallery.com/bio.html

Here is the website for this institution: http://www.newcovenant.edu/(note the low number of visitors to the site and the ‘sprawling campus at this address: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=7255+South+Military+Trail+Lake+Worth,+33463-7899+USA&sll=37.509726,-95.712891&sspn=38.626676,93.164063&ie=UTF8&ll=26.569491,-80.111275&spn=0.042912,0.090981&z=14

There are a number of well researched sources that document that New Covenant International University is yet another diploma mill.

“This is a legal religious educational institution in the state of Florida in the USA. The Florida Statutes 1005.6 (f) states that, “A religious college may operate without governmental oversight”.

That means you can start up an university to teach black magic in Florida as long as the rules in Statutes 1005.6 is followed. You can give out Ph.D in Voodoo or Ph.D in Bomoh, if you like. Though being legally instituted by the state of Florida, that alone does not guarantee the recognition of the institution’s degrees in other states of the USA and other countries. Such recognition comes through ‘accreditation’. That means the master’s degrees and doctorates provided by institutions which are accredited and those which are not are qualitatively different.

The accreditation body that guarantees the quality of higher education in Florida is the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Theological seminaries and Christian universities like Asbury Theological Seminary and Baylor University are accredited by the body. And New Covenant International University & Theological Seminary is not in the accreditation list.

Simply said, those without accreditation is free to grant degrees without ensuring academic competency and so the certificates are not recognized. The implication is that those people who got their degrees and doctorates from unaccredited institutions cannot use the title “Dr.” in their referent, or even if they use it, it is a fake “Dr.”, like calling a woman without a child under her care as “mother”.

Now you may be wondering why am I highlighting the New Covenant International University & Theological Seminary. That is because the institution’s president Kevin Dyson was here earlier this year giving a series of talks on relationship at City Harvest Church. And lo and behold, our local charismatic Kong Hee’s Master of Divinity (M.Div) and Doctor of Theology (D.Th) are from Dyson’s institution. If he really wants a good quality theological education degree, he can get them from local seminaries and theological colleges. There are plenty which are accredited here. Don’t have to get from a dubious institution in Florida. But if he prefer overseas degrees, he should opt for places like Asbury or Baylor”. Source:http://szezeng.blogspot.com/2009/12/new-covenant-international-university.html

In summary:

1: Be wary of any Doctorate earned in the US – especially Florida. 2: Do your own research
3: Ask for a copy of Dr Phil’s transcript and ask any University in Australia whether they would recognize it
3: Be extremely wary of anything a megachurch Pastor tells you!

Kind regards,

RJM – Lionfish”

  • So Phil Pringle for the last few years has been asking his staff and students to call him Dr Phil.
  • Pringle has used his ‘Doctorate’ to promote and advertise his ministry and ministry colleges.
  • Phil Pringle is on a board of members where he seems to know the president of the NCI University & Theological Seminary, Kevin Dyson.
  • Kevin Dyson DID have an educational institution in Florida, which later moved off the property.
  • Kevin Dyson also gave Kong Hee a Master’s and Doctorate in theology.

Maybe it is worth to take Steve Levicoff’s advice from his book, ‘Name It and Frame It’. If the book was released in 1993, it already exposes the sad credentials of Kong Hee. With Pringle it is more questionable. There is no sign whatsoever that the Seminary is now endorsed as an accredited educational facility. Since Pringle gained his doctorate in 1999, the chances are incredibly high that it is not legitimate.

What adds further weight to it’s illegitimacy is the fact that Pringle only promoted his credentials only a few times. The second time I found he used his doctorate credentials, he was too vague to explain where he got them, what he got them for and who gave them to him. Even if he knows his doctorate is meaningless, why would he not promote people to call him ‘Doctor’ anyway?

If anyone has any more information regarding this, please comment and source your information.

Phil Pringle Endorsing Problematic Steve Furtick for Presence Conference 2012

Once again, Pringle chooses a preacher based on popularity rather than accountability. Pastor Steve Furtick is a controversial pastor that is highly abusive and very controlling. Below is the latest news on Steve Furtick and his Code Orange Revival incident. Phil Pringle is clearly oblivious to the teachers, what they taught at this meeting and the Furtick fiasco behind the scenes,

“Watchng #CodeOrangeRevival http://bit.ly/zHRTZp WOW! So look 4ward 2 Steve Furtick wit us #Presence2012 10th-13th Aprl http://bit.ly/yylQEb” – Phil Pringle, https://twitter.com/#!/philpringle/status/159429028732874752, 18/01/2012.

HAS PHIL PRINGLE LOOKED AT STEVE FURTICK’S TRACK RECORD?

Steve Furtick has continually proven to demonstrate strong intolerance towards his critics and expresses his disgust to them. His video ‘Hey Haters’ reveals his hypocrisy and immaturity. The video he made reveals how little tolerance he has towards his critics:

He has demonstrated hostility to his own congregation for being disciples and those wanting to know more about Jesus.

In the above sermon, he is noted for also saying,

“If you know Jesus, I am sorry to break it to you, this church is not for you.” – Steve Furtick, Confessions of a Pastor

Quick reminder, he is speaking at C3 Presence Conference. He also says,

“We don’t teach from Books of the Bible because it gets in the way of evangelism. We don’t offer different kinds of Bible studies because it gets in the way of evangelism. We don’t teach doctrine because it gets in the way of evangelism.

If you want to be fed God’s word or have the Bible explained to you then you are a fat lazy Christian and you need to shut up and get to work or you need to leave this church because we ONLY do evangelism.” – Steven Furtick

In saying this, Furtick is rebelling against God’s Word and is going against the great commission that Jesus himself says (emphasis mine),

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

While loving each other and evangelising the world are good things, we need to be careful to tightly hold onto the truth at all costs otherwise the church will be thrown by every wind and wave of doctrine (Ephesians 4). Furtick’s extreme focus on evangelism and emergent Christianity has him breach the following scriptures: John 21:15-17, Luke 10:38-42, Matthew 28:19-2, John 8:31-32, Acts 2:42, Titus 1:7-10, Titus 2:1-10, 2 Timothy 4:1-4, 1 Corinthians 1:18-25.

We have seen the toll of Furtick not remaining theologically faithful. He has endorsed some abusive leaders and heretics for his code Orange Revival 2012. We will see in his Code Orange Revival why it was labelled the Heresy Olympics.

WHAT HAPPENED AT FURTICK’S CODE ORANGE REVIVAL?

While Phil Pringle was wowed by Steve Furticks Code Orange Revival (COR), Chris Rosebrough from ‘Fighting For The Faith’ was appalled by the heresy that was present there. Rosebrough has addressed some problematic key speakers  in the past. These included speakers TD Jakes, Perry Noble, Ed Young Jr and James MacDonald just to name a few. Listen to his commentaries on the COR here amidst the Matt Chandler sensorship issue:

Chris Rosebrough observed the reaction of Steve Furticks body language to Matt Chandlers sermon. Rosebrough got straight to the point and addressed Steven Furtick’s bad behaviour stating,

“He’ll [Steven Furtick] tolerate any gospel except for the biblical gospel. Yeah, if that isn’t the case then why did he hack that out? Why did he hack it out? That was his first impulse and that’s exactly what he did. He was NOT happy – and you can see it in his body language, you can see it in what subsequently happened with him hacking it out. And the final thing was, well, he was caught red handed. And so he had to make the decision to put the sermon back in through the rebroadcasts at 10:12 and 12:12.” – Chris Rosebrough, Code Orange Revival Weekend 1 Recap: 17:58, http://0352182.netsolhost.com/F4F011612.mp3, 16/01/2012.

The behaviour, decisions and actions of Steve Furtick do highlight his personal issues with proper theological preaching and highlights his immaturity as a pastor.

The Sola Sisters from http://solasisters.blogspot.com.au, also looked to see what happened at the event regarding Chandler and Furtick. Below is their article.

Matt Chandler Goes To Code Orange Where He Exalts Christ, Confronts Narcissistic Man-Centered Preaching, and *poof* He’s Gone

Posted by Christine Pack

For those unaware of the latest brouhaha in Evangelicalism, let me first lay out the facts. Steven Furtick, megachurch pastor at Elevation Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, is currently hosting a revival which is running from January 11-22 and is promoted as “a 12 night worship experience to set the stage for 2012.” The event is entitled “Code Orange” to indicate, according to Elevation Church’s website, “a heightened sense of urgency….something significant is about to happen.” The line-up of speakers for Code Orange includes Craig Groeschel, Jentezen Franklin, Matt Chandler, Christine Caine, Ed Young, Israel Houghton, Perry Noble, James MacDonald, T.D. Jakes, etc.

So Matt Chandler, pastor of The Village Church in Highland, Texas, and one of the invited speakers at Code Orange, stood up at Elevation Church and delivered what turned out to be a barn burner of a sermon. In his distinctive delivery style (that is to say, humble, loving, direct and at times laugh-out-loud funny), Chandler took aim at the kind of preaching that has been so aptly termed “Narcissistic Eisegeis,” and at which Steven Furtick, and so many others in the seeker sensitive movement, excel.

“For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.” 2 Timothy 4:3-4

Narcissistic Eisegesis (“Narcigesis”) = Forcing the Bible to mean something you already want it to mean by superimposing yourself into the meaning of the passage, rather than interpreting Scripture for what it means about God, and letting the Scripture simply speak for itself. Conversely, seeking to understand Scripture for what it reveals about God is known as Exegesis, and is also sometimes referred to as the “Literal” or “Grammatical-Historical” approach to interpreting Scripture. Example: The Narcissitic Eisegesis version of David and Goliath would be about you fighting your personal “giants” (i.e., problems, difficulties, setbacks, etc.). The Exegetical approach to interpreting David and Goliath would reveal, instead, an historical account of David’s faith and God supernaturally intervening in an impossible situation for his own glory.

Matt Chandler,
Pastor of The Village Church

Now, back to Elevation Church, Code Orange, and Matt Chandler’s sermon. First of all, before the letters start, I am aware that Matt Chandler is affiliated with Acts 29, has contemplative authors on his site and has claimed audible words from God. I’m not putting a stamp of approval on any of that by posting Chandler’s sermon. The church is in a big muddle today, and I truly do think that we’re in the end times deception, such that even the elect might be deceived. But here’s a thought: maybe part of that playing itself out is that some will appear to be slipping, but when push comes to shove, will stand up and preach Jesus Christ and him crucified. The desire, of course, is for the ones who appear to be slipping to demonstrate that their feet are firmly planted on the Rock of our Salvation – Christ – and it appears to me that Matt Chandler is demonstrating just that. Because really, for Chandler to go to Elevation Church and preach as he did? To stand up before thousands and thousands of people, knowing that his message would not be well received? That could not have been easy, and it demonstrates a fear of God, rather than a fear of man. So the sermon rocked, Christ was exalted, and man was humbled. I can only speak for myself, but I personally need sermons that pierce me and break me and make me lie down on the floor, repenting and crying, and also remind me of the only hope that I have, which is not that I can be great and conquer problems but that God is great and has made a way for wretched sinners (like me) to be reconciled to himself.

But now for the controversial part. Chandler’s sermon was immediately pulled from the Code Orange rebroadcasts. This was pointed out by several Christian writers, including Chris Rosebrough of Fighting for Faith and Ken Silva of Apprising Ministries. Then, the sermon reappeared in subsequent rebroadcasts with a cryptic message from Elevation’s graphic designer about a decision being made to “reformat the content” for the purpose of focusing “the broadcast on Jesus.”

So we’ll let you be the judge. Matt Chandler’s sermon is posted above, where you can listen to it in its entirety. Was this a sermon that should have been pulled because it did not focus on Jesus?
Do you honestly think Pringle knows enough about Steve Furtick to have him speak at Presence Conference 2011? Do we really need this man to influence thousands of Christians in Sydney?
