For a very long period of time we have seen Pringle play word games and use deceptive means to convince people that his prophetic 2020 Vision from God is being fulfilled. The reason why we are tackling this issue now is because of recent footage we managed to find online.
In our first article we established that Pringle had received a ‘God-give’ vision to PLANT 1000 churches by the year 2020.

If you have not read our previous article, Prophet Pringle’s God-Given 2020 Vision Lie (Part 1), do so now.

In this article we will examine how Phil Pringle is purposely going out of his way to convince his members that his church is PLANTING churches daily to ‘fulfill’ the 2020 vision.

IS PHIL PRINGLE YOUR HABAKKUK?

In the past, we critiqued a giving sermon that had Pringle twist the definition of ‘church plant’. We were being overtly cautious at the time because we believed our critics would accuse us falsely of making up the transcript or find some minor fault with us if we accused Phil Pringle of being highly deceptive.

C3 Giving Sermon Transcript: Just Another Manic Sunday

“Let Me Just Talk To You Out Of A Scripture” – Pringle’s Use of John 3:16

In our “Let Me Just Talk To You Out Of A Scripture…” article, we think it is important to reiterate the following information:

In his message Phil Pringle does not seem to know basic arithmetic:

56 people + 36 wanting to plant a church + 16 churches rebranded + 2 church plants ≠ 120 Church Plants

We are almost forced to believe that Dr. Phil Pringle doesn’t have a basic knowledge of church missions and biblical terminology. Pringle is calling ‘church planting’ a “group of pastors” to be “thirty six churches” and “a guy in Bulgaria who has sixteen churches” who possibly “wants to hook” into the C3 movement…

Pringle continues to make dishonest and unsupported claims suggesting that his organisation is responsible for one church being planted every day in Jesus’ name. Pringle says, “I know you were doubting out there but it’s okay. I have my moments too. And so you and I believing together- we’ll start to see ten churches a day being planted and growing”…

Pringle begins to mix his phrases through his address so that it becomes difficult to know what Pringle actually means…

… previously in his message to garner funding he only talked about the number of churches that were being added to his movement, not how many people “will come to Christ all around the world today”. We can rightly conclude he is still talking about the 120 churches he was talking about previously because he confirmed that these churches were coming into the C3 Movement, “right now in Jesus’ name. That’s just in four weeks time”.

Pringle continues, “That’s just in the existing churches. Now once these new ones are coming in. And they come into Christ, they become disciples, they become empowered and they become ministries themselves”

It is important to ask whether more accurately these alleged thousands being saved from his aforementioned C3 church ‘plants’ are not rather those people in existing churches being rebranded into the C3 fold. This is flawed thinking to confuse such people who join the C3 banner with salvation into Christ. The conclusions we come too after such dialogue is not good.

If Pringle is saying churches who join C3 “come into Christ, …become disciples,” “become empowered” and “become ministries themselves”, that would make C3 a cult. That is, if Pringle believes their movement is the only true church with the right teachings and formulas for salvation then he himself has set his movement to be a cult…

The sermon that we critiqued was given on the 24th of October, 2010. We managed to get video footage of Phil Pringle later that week repeating the same false material to his staff and C3 college students.

First we want to show a video snippet that features Pringle at the start of his sermon portraying himself as a type of Habakkuk. In this snippet, Pringle stresses that leaders shouldn’t have a vision but a ‘God Vision’. As he is the leader, Pringle attempts to establish at the beginning of this sermon that he is a ‘leader’ leading by ‘example’ with his ‘God Vision’. Pringle is the Habbakuk of C3. He is the watchman and knows the future where the movement is heading. He has the vision to go forward. (Heaven forbid you question his infallible God-given direction.)

Here is the video. Below is the transcript.

“I just want to touch on a few things here today for all of us. As students and staff. Number one, is uh- vision: the importance of it. And how much we need that if we’re gonna change this world. We won’t achieve anything without a vision. But it needs to be a God vision. Okay?

Just having a vision is really not the answer. And so in all the business manuals and coaching, training, you’ll hear about how important vision is. But that’s just a vision people are dreaming up in their own mind. We need to have a God vision inside of us.” – Phil Pringle, 00:16, C3 Church Sydney and C3 College combined staff and students meeting 27 October 2010, http://vimeo.com/16260821, October 27, 2010 6:30 PM.

Later on, he recaps what he said earlier on Sunday (which is the transcript you read here). Transcript is below.

“Empowering saints is giving. Is delegation. It’s getting people to do things for God.  And- and uh, (hm-hm!), so we- we want to release people all the time to get stuff done. And I think it’s awesome! Every- I mean, every week, just about, we see a brand new musician up on the stage. And uh- to get people preaching in chapel. All these things.  But the ultimate goal is that we will get people to plant churches and grow churches all around the world.

In the last- uh- (I haven’t- I haven’t done a really detailed study on this though). Well let me- let me explain this. And I mentioned it on Sunday but for those who didn’t hear, I’ll say it again.

In Bali, (which was what? Four weeks ago? Four weeks ago? I think it was. One month? Yeah. [Crowd laughs] Thanks! Thanks Jake! It wasn’t four weeks. It was a month ago), and ah- In Bali, we had our South- East Asia conference, okay.

So a guy comes out. He says, “I’m joining the movement with my churches”. I said, “How many churches have you got?” He said, “Forty eight 48”. In a place called Myanmar [Burma]. So I said, “Okay”. And I really wanted to clear this up. I said, “It’s not just you joining? You’re actually- all these guys are coming?”

“Yep.”

Then another guy from Indonesia, (Philippines, sorry!), he was joining with eight churches. And then we were celebrating planting two churches at that time. All up that’s fifty eight churches. Right there, okay, four weeks ago. Then, another one of our overseers, has just come back from Indonesia. And he says, uh, he’s just having, he’s got thirty six churches just on their way in as well. That’s- ah- how many’s that? Ninety- ninety- four! Ninety four churches, okay?

Then, ah, in- in Africa, East Africa, the uh, the guys over there said they got about a hundred pastors and leaders. And there were thirty churches in Tanzania, Congo, bla-bla-bla, somewhere else. I thought, “I don’t know if they’re brand new or half new or whatever”. So I thought, “Oh! Just count half of them”. So that’s like a hundred and- that’s a hundred and ten. Hundred and nine actually.

Then Simon told me that he’s talking to a guy in Bulgaria. Ah- who is a really good guy. He’s got sixteen churches. And he is also hooking up. He’s got a big church, one of the biggest in Bulgaria. It’s about six hundred. That’s a big church in that part of the world. So that’s one hundred and twenty. One hundred and twenty churches in one month. That adds up to a growth rate of around about four churches a day. Okay? You know, like- I s- I- I know! I know! So, what are you doing here?

You’re getting ready to look after these churches. You’re getting ready to grow these churches.” – Phil Pringle, 24:16, C3 Church Sydney and C3 College combined staff and students meeting 27 October 2010, http://vimeo.com/16260821, Uploaded October 27, 2010 6:30 PM.

SO WHAT? WHAT ARE WE SEEING?

Let us believe Phil Pringle for a moment. Let us establish for a second that the 2020 Vision IS from God. Pringle has emphatically stated that this 2020 ‘God Vision’ or ‘God-given vision’ is to PLANT 1000 churches. But what are we seeing? We are seeing a man trying to convince his various audiences that the 2020 Vision is being fulfilled for the glory of God.

But were 120 churches PLANTED in his movement over one month? No.

If Pringle was following the ‘God Given’ 2020 vision, he would be planting churches and not rebranding, converting or assimilating churches into his movement. If he is not planting church, isn’t Pringle opposing the ‘God Given’ 2020 Vision?

What else are we seeing? Let’s say that those 120 church joined the C3 movement. What does this mean?

It means that a third of his churches were established in ONE MONTH. If any person examined his claim in ratio to the current number of churches in his movement a few months later, they’d know that Pringle was lying to them. Where are these church ‘plants’ today?

This actually raises more questions. Is the C3 Church Movement mainly made up of church plants or rebranded churches? If the C3 Church movement fills up with redbranded churches, does this mean that the movement itself is failing God and His 2020 Vision?

We are about to discover that the C3 movement is mainly filled with rebranded churches.

ARE CHURCHES REALLY BEING PLANTED OR REBRANDED?

Whenever a C3 Church plant is about to be undertaken in the C3 Church movement, the news is often huge. For example, leading up to it’s establishment, Phil Pringle and other leaders were monotonously advertising, Facebooking and twittering the C3 Hong Kong church plant. If churches were being planted everyday, Pringle and his leadership would be plastering the news everywhere. However, they don’t.

We would like to conclude that the majority of C3 churches are not church plants but takeovers. To say that churches are being rebranded is not accurate. A takeover is more appropriate since C3 specifically targets churches and assimilates them into it’s collective.

What should be evident in the above transcripts is how C3 uses their conferences to target and market to churches to join their movement. In the name of ‘relevancy’, a C3 conference can easily make local churches feel inadequate, boring and irrelevant. Who cares about the local church and cultural sensitivity when C3 is the answer to your church’s problem! (Who could resist the enticing relevant music, the flashy lights, and the manufactured presence of God?)

Consider again what Pringle said in the above transcripts.

“In Bali, we had our South- East Asia conference, okay.

So a guy comes out. He says, “I’m joining the movement with my churches”. I said, “How many churches have you got?” He said, “Forty eight 48”. In a place called Myanmar [Burma]…

Then another guy from Indonesia, (Philippines, sorry!), he was joining with eight churches. And then we were celebrating planting two churches at that time. All up that’s fifty eight churches…”

“And then Simon came back from the European conference and he met a guy in Bulgaria who has sixteen churches. And he wants to hook in as well.”

May we remind you again what Pringle said how he wanted people to see his Presence Conference:

“We really want  to become more cross-denominational, not parochial about just being C3… And it’s so important that we just, you know, spill the banks, go over, lower the wall, let the water run through the city and be a blessing. And not out there just to drag people into- you know- and to get people into and- many people will get involved in what we’re doing and that’s good. But I don’t want that to be the only motivation that we have. I think that if we have the motivation to be a blessing beyond us, that would be a really good- a really good idea.” – Phil Pringle, C3 Leaders Meeting With Phil Pringle – May 2011, Youtube, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgTdtB-ha0s, Uploaded by CCCOF on May 5, 2011.

So we can rule out the fact that this ‘vision’ is about ‘planting churches’. We’ve now established this to be false. While we can argue that C3 does rebrand churches, it doesn’t accurately describe the malicious scheming and marketing attempts they use to target vulnerable churches through their conferences around the world. If what is said in the transcripts is true, then one third of all C3 Churches are takeovers. However, C3 appears to inform us that they have taken over more churches than they have planted.

If people are still not convinced that the 2020 Vision is a lie, this next bit of information should convince you.

THW 20/20 VISION FAILING IN VISION

We wrote an article back in December of 2011. In it we had screen grabs and older information on the location of C3 Churches around the world .

C3 Reports It Has Roughly 243 Churches Globally

Now the date is the 27th of October 2013. All the screengrabs you see and read below are recorded on this date.

If people visit the c3churchglobal.com website, click ‘CHURCHES’ and you will come across to this page (http://c3churchglobal.com/church):

proof_c3churchgloblal-trueplants_21-10-2013

You will be taken to this map. You will notice links at the bottom of the right hand corner: “VIEW: ALL | PLANTS”. This wasn’t available two years ago. This is recently added. If you click ‘ALL’ you will see this map:

proof_c3churchgloblal-trueplants2_21-10-2013

So why does the C3 Church Global have a link to PLANTS? When you click the ‘PLANTS’ link, you will see the following map:

proof_c3churchgloblal-falseplants_21-10-2013

Going by the newer information what are we looking at? There are only seven church plants in America? Five church plants in Europe? Three church plants in Europe? Four church plants in Asia? Four in the South East Asia Pacific rim? Four in Australia? About nine in New Zealand and a few around Fiji?

With the information given, that is about fourty churches in total that C3 Church considers ‘Church Plants’. Yet the C3 movement brags of planting anywhere between 240 to 400 churches worldwide? And what are the churches in blue? Church takeovers?

If this information is true, than Phil Pringle has failed spectacularly to fulfill his 2020 Vision. If God did give Pringle the 2020 Vision, then we have the C3churchglobal website exposing Pringle for the false prophet that he is.

NOTE: We would like to ask for your help next article. If you can help us find churches that C3 has taken over, please email us links, screen grabs, testimonies or other forms of evidence. Our email is c3churchwatch@hotmail.com.

How Can Kong Hee Say “I Do Maintain My Integrity”? (Part 2)

Kong Hee gives the impression he is a Christian minister. He recently claimed “I do maintain my integrity”. In part 1 we examined both Phil Pringle and Kong Hee’s credentials. In spite of youtube videos calling Kong Hee ‘Dr Kong Hee’ and Kong Hee addressing Pringle as ‘Dr Phil Pringle’, they have no credibility with their unaccredited doctrines.

How Can Kong Hee Say “I Do Maintain My Integrity”? (Part 1)

Now we would like you to decide if Kong Hee carries integrity with the following video of Kong Hee teaching C3 College students at C3 Oxford Falls, Sydney in 2009. Does Hee preach the Christian gospel? Does he run a Christian ministry?

THE CHRISTIAN GOSPEL MESSAGE

Remember that the Christian message (good message), also known as the gospel, is this:

“Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.

For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me. For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me. Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.” – Apostle Paul, 1 Corinthians 15:1-11, ESV.

THE CHRISTIAN MINISTRY

This is the mission and ministry of the church:

“From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” – The Apostle Paul, 2 Corinthians 5:16-21, ESV.

Contrast the Christian message, mission and ministry with Kong Hee and Phil Pringle’s message, mission and ministry.

Not only did we just hear from Kong’s lips that they preach a gospel contrary to the ‘save me’ gospel, he also preached the false ‘dominion’ doctrine AND mocked Christians who hold to the gospel of salvation. Why does Kong Hee mock Christianity and call it ‘shallow Christianity’?

It’s worth observing how Paul mocked the Corinthian Church,

“… if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough.” – Apostle Paul, 2 Corinthians 11:4, ESV.

And Paul laid a curse on anyone that preached a gospel contrary to the one the early apostles preached:

“… even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.”  – Apostle Paul, Galatians 1:8-9, ESV.

Kong Hee claimed brazenly that Phil Pringle and himself want to change the Christian gospel to their own gospel. For them to change the cause of the church and to change the message of Christianity is an attack on Christianity. The Apostle Paul would see not see integrity in both Phil Pringle and Kong Hee.

The scriptures teach that men like Phil Pringle and Kong Hee are “impostors” and “evil men who are will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived” (2 Timothy 3:13). The scriptures also say that men such as Pringle and Kong Hee have a form of godliness but deny it’s power. Therefore we should avoid them and have nothing to do with them (2 Timothy 3:5).

The Apostle John takes this further and claims that those like Pringle and Kong Hee who do not remain in the teachings of God “does not have God” and do wicked works.

“Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him. Anyone who welcomes him shares in his wicked work.” – The Apostle John, 2John 1:9-11, NIV

As Christians who love God, do we dare obey His Word? Are we prepared to call Phil Pringle and Kong Hee “impostors” and call them to repent from their wickedness?

We will end with more bible verses to highlight how linked the gospel is to salvation rather then to Kong Hee and Phil Pringle’s narcissistic gospel (bold emphasis added).

“In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,” Ephesians 1:13

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes,” Romans 1:16

“He called you to salvation when we told you the Good News; now you can share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 2 Thessalonians 2:14

This is their website: http://www.tcalw.org/

You can see that this is the correct institute from google maps because they have photos of the construction site of their new buildings on both google maps and their website. But after browsing endlessly on their church and the TCA website, there is no mention of New Covenant University, New Covenant International University or Kevin Dyson.

But this site may offer some information:http://www.statemaster.com/encyclopedia/Name-It-and-Frame-It%3F

Name It and Frame It? is a 1993 book by Steve Levicoff about Christian schools. He explores the accreditation process, good and bad institutions of higher learning. This work has four different editions, which contain updated information and responses from various groups. In the preface of the third edition Levicoff wrote about the book, “administrators at legitimately accredited Christian schools loved it, but the operators of degree mills weren’t too pleased.”

There are some very impressive ministry college names in the list in his book. The one that caught my eye was, ‘New Covenant International Theological Seminary‘, which is supposedly located in Honolulu, Hawaii. Thank you Steve Levicoff!

HISTORY & BIBLICAL FOCUS

NCI was founded in Auckland, New Zealand in 1978 as a logical outgrowth of the recognition that all members of the local church body need appropriate forms and levels of training and equipping to be able to effectively do the work of serving those around them, as well as those in other nations.

In 1990 NCIU was incorporated in the United States as an independent, self-governing corporation where it remains to this day. NCI was established in relationship with the apostolic oversight of a local assembly of Christian believers at Lake Worth, Florida, as well as other ministry leaders from a broad spectrum. NCIU is a “user focused” institution that exists to serve the needs of the end-users, not simply to perpetuate knowledge for the sake of knowledge. Our chief end is to glorify God and Him alone in all that we do.

It is widely known that many fully engaged leaders and adults with careers, families and community involvement— with busy lives— often desire to further their education and be better equipped for their chosen task of Christian service, regardless of their vocational location.

To these people, NCI University & Theological Seminary offers an enriching learning experience that allows them to fit much needed education into their lives, rather than forcing them to fit their lives into education.

NCIU acknowledges that the local body of Christian believers and its community of members remain the primary place for planting and nurturing of biblical, foundational truth and meaningful spiritual experiences through what is termed “the Disciple-making Process”.

The “Disciple-making Process,” which is God’s prime weapon for extending His ever-increasing, unshakable kingdom throughout the nations and people groups of the entire earth, may take place within recognized structures or spontaneous, organic groups in the marketplace and beyond. The new life of faith needs to grow where it happens!

The necessity of this pivotal practice is under-scored by NCIU in the development and provision of appropriate foundation and disciple-making materials, such as are found in the Resources section of this website.

In the technology-driven twenty first century with the worldwide Internet providing adult learners with a more convenient global-focused education, this process is a basic task. The challenge, however, for NCI University & Theological Seminary is to make sure that this ‘convenience factor’ keeps technology as our servant and not our master. It also provides the global vehicle for us to be able to jointly engage in a genuine, educational, intellectually challenging and spiritually enriching experience.

It is because of the commitment to maintaining this academic standard and practical spiritual development that NCI University & Theological Seminary is able to provide culturally relevant and meaningful distance-learning, higher education programs, establishing it amongst the more innovative Christian institutions of higher learning.

NCI University & Theological Seminary also works alongside a number of campus-based Christian education providers on the five main continents and gives special recognition to their validated programs as equal components of the total learning requirements to receive specified, academic awards for religious, vocational purposes.

It’s the same place. No university. The university’s information is wrong when it says, “In 1990 NCIU was incorporated in the United States as an independent, self-governing corporation where it remains to this day”.

___________________________________________

I quickly went over to this site to check if NCI University & Theological Seminary should be indeed considered a diploma mill:http://www.elearners.com/guide/online-colleges-universities-and-schools/diploma-mills/.

How can I tell if a school is a diploma mill?

  • They often have names similar to well-known colleges or universities, but fail to mention an accrediting agency or name a fake accrediting agency.
  • The organization frequently changes addresses, sometimes moving from state to state.
  • Written materials typically include numerous spelling and grammatical errors, sometimes on the diploma itself.
  • Overemphasis on the speed and brevity with which someone can receive a degree (e.g. “Call now and have your degree shipped to you overnight!”).
  • Degrees can be earned in far less time than normal (e.g. 27 days) or the diploma is printed with a specific backdate.
  • There is no selectivity in admissions, or any questions about previous test scores or detailed academic history.
  • No interaction with professors or faculty (e.g. only two emails are received from a professor).
  • Degree requirements are vague or unspecified, lacking class descriptions and without any mention of how many credit hours are required to complete a program.
  • Tuition and fees are typically on a per-degree basis.
  • Grade point average (GPA) and academic honors (e.g. Summa Cum Laude) can be specified at the time of purchase.

____________________________________________

Finally, I found this comment made by Lionfish on Groupsects:

“Dr Phil (Pringle) “earned” his doctorate from New Covenant International University in Florida writing a book about Acts.

Note that even on his own site he does not quote the Institution from where he “earned”” this qualification: Source:http://www.philpringlegallery.com/bio.html

Here is the website for this institution: http://www.newcovenant.edu/(note the low number of visitors to the site and the ‘sprawling campus at this address: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=7255+South+Military+Trail+Lake+Worth,+33463-7899+USA&sll=37.509726,-95.712891&sspn=38.626676,93.164063&ie=UTF8&ll=26.569491,-80.111275&spn=0.042912,0.090981&z=14

There are a number of well researched sources that document that New Covenant International University is yet another diploma mill.

“This is a legal religious educational institution in the state of Florida in the USA. The Florida Statutes 1005.6 (f) states that, “A religious college may operate without governmental oversight”.

That means you can start up an university to teach black magic in Florida as long as the rules in Statutes 1005.6 is followed. You can give out Ph.D in Voodoo or Ph.D in Bomoh, if you like. Though being legally instituted by the state of Florida, that alone does not guarantee the recognition of the institution’s degrees in other states of the USA and other countries. Such recognition comes through ‘accreditation’. That means the master’s degrees and doctorates provided by institutions which are accredited and those which are not are qualitatively different.

The accreditation body that guarantees the quality of higher education in Florida is the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Theological seminaries and Christian universities like Asbury Theological Seminary and Baylor University are accredited by the body. And New Covenant International University & Theological Seminary is not in the accreditation list.

Simply said, those without accreditation is free to grant degrees without ensuring academic competency and so the certificates are not recognized. The implication is that those people who got their degrees and doctorates from unaccredited institutions cannot use the title “Dr.” in their referent, or even if they use it, it is a fake “Dr.”, like calling a woman without a child under her care as “mother”.

Now you may be wondering why am I highlighting the New Covenant International University & Theological Seminary. That is because the institution’s president Kevin Dyson was here earlier this year giving a series of talks on relationship at City Harvest Church. And lo and behold, our local charismatic Kong Hee’s Master of Divinity (M.Div) and Doctor of Theology (D.Th) are from Dyson’s institution. If he really wants a good quality theological education degree, he can get them from local seminaries and theological colleges. There are plenty which are accredited here. Don’t have to get from a dubious institution in Florida. But if he prefer overseas degrees, he should opt for places like Asbury or Baylor”. Source:http://szezeng.blogspot.com/2009/12/new-covenant-international-university.html

In summary:

1: Be wary of any Doctorate earned in the US – especially Florida. 2: Do your own research
3: Ask for a copy of Dr Phil’s transcript and ask any University in Australia whether they would recognize it
3: Be extremely wary of anything a megachurch Pastor tells you!

Kind regards,

RJM – Lionfish”

  • So Phil Pringle for the last few years has been asking his staff and students to call him Dr Phil.
  • Pringle has used his ‘Doctorate’ to promote and advertise his ministry and ministry colleges.
  • Phil Pringle is on a board of members where he seems to know the president of the NCI University & Theological Seminary, Kevin Dyson.
  • Kevin Dyson DID have an educational institution in Florida, which later moved off the property.
  • Kevin Dyson also gave Kong Hee a Master’s and Doctorate in theology.

Maybe it is worth to take Steve Levicoff’s advice from his book, ‘Name It and Frame It’. If the book was released in 1993, it already exposes the sad credentials of Kong Hee. With Pringle it is more questionable. There is no sign whatsoever that the Seminary is now endorsed as an accredited educational facility. Since Pringle gained his doctorate in 1999, the chances are incredibly high that it is not legitimate.

What adds further weight to it’s illegitimacy is the fact that Pringle only promoted his credentials only a few times. The second time I found he used his doctorate credentials, he was too vague to explain where he got them, what he got them for and who gave them to him. Even if he knows his doctorate is meaningless, why would he not promote people to call him ‘Doctor’ anyway?

If anyone has any more information regarding this, please comment and source your information.

C3 College Classes With Mark Kelsey: Invent Your Own Theology (Part 1)

Exec Pastor Mark Kelsey

C3 DOESN’T HAVE THEOLOGICAL/BIBLE COLLEGES

Solid theological churches with theologically trained ministers don’t generally need to have Bible Colleges with their churches. Qualified teachers should be able to educate the congregation to the best of their knowledge. Often a member can question ministers and ministers will be open for correction or will happily provide members with material to spiritually grow in. As a result, the congregation grows in the Wisdom of God.

Because C3 members generally can’t discuss in depth what is being taught on Sundays, the structures provide it’s members to discuss their teachings in their C3 bible study groups (aka Connect Groups).

Unfortunately, the content isn’t deep. C3 therefore encourages it’s members to go to their colleges to learn, if you have a passion to learn about God. However, it is important to establish that the C3 Colleges are NOT bible colleges or theological colleges. C3’s 1985 Ministry Training College Prospectus says on pg 2,

“We are not a “theological college” though we teach theology, nor even a “bible college” per se, but a ministry training college where students learn biblically how to be effective in the work force of Jesus.

You will learn how to pray, how to move in the anointing of the Holy Spirit, how to preach the word of God, how to set your faith loose, how to study the Bible and numerous other essential skills.”

View the pdf we have made here on the 1985 C3 MTC Prospectus:

Christian City Church Ministry Training College PROSPECTUS 1985

More articles will be written on this topic later.

THE EIGHTH DIMENSION

The above statement by C3 has proven to be true. Mark Kelsey is proof of this.

In the first term of 2007, I had to take a class called ‘Life In Ministry’.  School of Creative Art (SCA) students had to take this class with School of Ministry (SOM) students. Mark Kelsey, the Executive Pastor, was our lecturer. He demonstrated effectively that both Christian City Church Colleges were not theologically or biblically based colleges.

I disagreed with the course content since Mark Kelsey continually taught from this diagram for the majority of the lessons we had with him:

Where is this in the bible? The only thing I found biblical about this diagram was that in the world we need to get a revelation to get into the Kingdom of God.

While loosely applying very few verses in the bible, Mark Kelsey made this up. Each segment was called a ‘dimension’. The way you access the next ‘dimension’ was by crossing the ‘bridge’ to the next dimension, usually through works. It’s important to note that the way you progress up the pyramid to the visionary status of the head C3 Pastor Phil Pringle, is through works of commitment, submission, discipline, responsibility and authority.

Mark Kelsey also drew a snake under the diagram at one point to teach that offense can make us fall back a dimension or take us back to the beginning again. It looked as though he was teaching an Amway scheme of ‘Snakes and Ladders’.

I didn’t want to do the assessment that was in relation to this and tried to protest my way out of doing something so stupid. Some students actually discussed the peculiarity of this subject, discussing the theology and practicality of it. They were confused. Some SCA students inquired how this was biblical in class, (not the SOM students). Unfortunately, none of us found that we could approach C3 College staff to address this peculiar teaching. Since the majority of the students were under 25, none felt they could actually object the class content and the assessment we had to complete in relation to the diagram

I found the entire approach Mark Kelsey was teaching about ministry was unbiblical, religious and pointless. As a result, I purposely went out of my way to mock the assessment. I was shocked to receive an ‘A’ for my efforts.

C3 College Class Assessment

I purposely went out of my way to be proud and not humble. I exalted myself of being prophetic, counselor-like, leadership material.

To get an ‘A’ for an assessment I treated as a joke reveals Mark Kelsey’s lack of competency and understanding as a minister, pastor or teacher of God’s Word and His Church. A thorough examination and training in the letters to Timothy of the bible would have been much more beneficial to students. Instead – Mark Kelsey made up his own theology and had us submit to his teachings.

THE EIGHT CORRECTIONS

The issues with the Amway-like diagram results in people and God favouring those who are in the upper class dimensions. Scriptures teach us that we are all on the same level playing field. While God does delegate certain people for certain roles, gifts and offices, God uses all of us and has no favourites (As C3 members say, ‘God is no respecter of persons’). All Christians:

1. … still sin. (1 John 1:8)

2. … are part of Christs church, therefore included as part of the Kingdom of God. (Matthew 16:19 – Read Gills Commentary on this.) (Mark Kelsey taught we are not of the church until we chose to commit ourselves to the church).

3. … are to be humble servants like Christ and be “with humility of mind” regarding others “as more important than” ourselves (Philippians 2:3-8).

4. … are to submit to one another. (Ephesians 5:21)

5. … are to minister to God’s people and those in the world. (2 Corinthians 5:18, Galatians 6:2, Ephesians 4:29, Romans 12:10)

6. … are called to be responsible. (1 Corinthians 7, Hebrews 4:13, Colossians 3:23, )

7. … are committed to the cause and vision of Christ. (Colossians 2:8, 2 Corinthians 5:18, Hebrews 3:12, 1John 5:20, 1 John 1:2, 1 John 5:5, 1 John 5:13, 2Peter 3:9, Romans 16:27)

8. … are under the authority and pledge loyal integrity to Christ. (Ephesians 5:24, Ephesians 1:22, Ephesians 5:21, 1Peter 1:7-9, 1Peter 3:14-17, Romans 16:27, Jude 1:25, Colossians 3:13, 1 John 3:16)

Hebrews 4 addresses that all people in the church are to grow together in fulness, maturity and unity in Christ. The gifts of God are there to help bring the church to the standard of Christ.

It is disturbing that Mark Kelsey calls students up on their loyalty to gain positions and titles within a church-like structure. Cults will often call people to pledge their loyalty to their leaders and movements. Integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles and moral uprightness. Integrity is greater then loyalty.

Mark Kelsey seems to disagree with the scriptures by forcing students to submit to his made up diagrams that supposedly look biblical. Then again. He is fulfilling the C3 College mandate that they are neither a “theological college” or “bible college”. We will see another sample of C3 College inventing their own theology in another article similar to this.

Phil Pringle’s Invisible School

Edit: One member in C3 Leadership have confirmed that the ‘school’ existed. It was stated,

“.. International School of the Church was run at C3 Church for Church planters, I actually lectured in it – it is still advertised in some of Ps Phil’s books if they were published when it was in operation.”

“… we definitely had an ISOC- just how long it ran I am not sure of.”

We speculate that it may not exist now. Many other C3 leaders do not know it ever existed.

Phil Pringle released a new book last year called ‘Hope’ in 2011. At the book is a segment about the author. Philip Andrew Pringle writes (emphasis mine),

“He [Pringle] has overseen the planting of new churches in major cities throughout the world. Today, there are more than 300 C3 Churches around the globe, which collectively make up C3 Church Global, with a combined membership of more than 75,000. In addition to its renowned teaching ministry, C3 has an internationally acclaimed, accredited education program that includes kindergarten through high school, and offers baccalaureate degrees in disciplines that include:

  • The School of Ministry, which trains ministers and develops powerful ministries.
  • The School of Creative Arts, focusing in all disciplines of the arts.
  • The Pastoral Care and Counseling College.
  • The International School of the Church, which trains pastors and teams to plant churches and take the Word of God to new levels of growth.” – Phil Pringle, Hope, About The Author, 2011.

We’ve already discussed Pringle’s false information regarding that his colleges provide “baccalaureate degrees”:

About Phil Pringle: Well The Author Is Confusing & Misleading About His Colleges

Pringle says that “baccalaureate degrees” are offered to students in his ‘International School of the Church’ (ISC). But this is a problem.

The ‘International School of the Church’ does not seem to exist. The ‘International School of the Church’ is mentioned in his book online, “Top 10 Qualities Of A Great Leader” (emphasis mine).

“Ministries of Christian City Church include: School of Creative Arts, Pastoral Care and Counseling College, the International School of the Church, Jesus Television, and Seam of Gold Recording.” – Top 10 Qualities Of A Great Leader, http://books.google.com.au/books/about/Top_10_Qualities_of_a_Great_Leader.html?id=rJDrhB-05twC&redir_esc=y, (Accessed 07/02/2012).

And in the book itself (emphasis mine),

“Christian City Church Oxford Falls has a School of Ministry, developing powerful ministries for the future; a School of Creative Arts, developing ministries in the Arts; Pastoral Care and Counselling College; the International School of the Church, which trains pastors and teams to plant churches and take the churches to new levels of growth; a business course…” – Top 10 Qualities Of A Great Leader, 2007.

It is also mentioned online here (emphasis mine),

“Ministries of Christian City Church include: School of Creative Arts, Pastoral Care and Counseling College, the International School of the Church, Jesus Television, and Seam of Gold Recording.” – Top 10 Qualities of a Great Leader, Books Express, Biographical Note, http://www.books-express.ro/book/9781577949398/Top-10-Qualities-of-a-Great-Leader.html. (Accessed 08/02/2012)

And on this website as well (emphasis mine),

“Ministries of Christian City Church include: School of Creative Arts, Pastoral Care and Counseling College, the International School of the Church, Jesus Television, and Seam of Gold Recording.” – Top 10 Qualities of a Great Leader, eCampus, Author Biography, http://www.ecampus.com/top-10-qualities-great-leader-pringle-phil/bk/9781577949398. (Accessed 08/02/2012)

It is also mentioned in this online Harrison House Spring 09 catalogue (emphasis mine),

“DR. PHIL PRINGLE is an author, songwriter, artist, and Senior Minister of one of Australia’s fastest growing churches, Christian City Church in Oxford Falls, Australia, with over 4,000 members. Dr Pringle also oversees approximately 200 churches worldwide that make up Christian City Church International. Ministries of Christian City Church include: School of Creative Arts, Pastoral Care and Counseling College, the International School of the Church, Jesus Television, and Seam of Gold Recording. Pastor Pringle has spent over 30 years as a pastor, trainer, and leader, sending out hundreds of ministers to plant churches in major cities of the world.” – Harrison House Spring09 Catalogue, 2009. (Emphasis mine)

All we came across in our 11 hour search was Pringle promoting his ‘International School of the Church’. Above is all the information we could find. We don’t know where Phil Pringle’s school exists.

THE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL IS NOT PROMOTED AT C3 COLLEGES

I personally attended the C3 College for three years from 2007 to 2009. Not once was the ISC ever promoted. Not once did I ever hear about it, (which is unusual for C3 not to market to international students in their colleges). This ISC does not exist at C3 or on the internet.

We encourage people to search for “International School of the Church” on the web. It can’t be found.

We can only come to 2 conclusions.

1. Phil Pringle promotes himself with this made up school. Or

2. The ISC has been renamed something else.

If the second option was true, then their would be some notification through the web or at the C3 College that there was a name change. We have found no information to say this has happened. I personally asked a C3 leader in the movement if they have heard of the ISC. They haven’t.

Even a C3 College lecturer is not aware of Pringle’s ‘International School of the Church’. Therefore, we are led to believe that the “International School of the Church” does not exist.

About Phil Pringle: Well The Author Is Confusing & Misleading About His Colleges

We at C3 Church Watch have already questioned if the typo in Phil Pringle’s book Top 10 Qualities of a Great Leader, was a typo or not.

“Today, Dr. Phil Pringle oversees the approximately 1,200 churches that make up Christian City Church International throughout the world, a significant proportion planted directly from Christian City Church Oxford Falls.” – About the Author DR. PHIL PRINGLE, Top 10 Qualities of a Great Leader, 2007, pg. 227.

We discussed how flippant Phil Pringle is with his church statistics in this article:

Does Phil Pringle Distort Church Statistics For Personal Gain?

We have counted that he has 243 churches. Pringle updated his profile on his website last year, stating he ‘oversees the approximately 258 churches’, while in his services promotes he has ‘nearly five hundred’ churches in his movement. A commenter on C3 Church Watch has stated, ‘He [Phil Pringle] nearly always says it’s around 500’ (see comment section in the above link).

Phil Pringle released a new book last year called ‘Hope’ in 2011. Pringle writes (emphasis mine),

“He [Pringle] has overseen the planting of new churches in major cities throughout the world. Today, there are more than 300 C3 Churches around the globe, which collectively make up C3 Church Global, with a combined membership of more than 75,000. • The Pastoral Care and Counseling College.
  • The International School of the Church, which trains pastors and teams to plant churches and take the Word of God to new levels of growth.” – Phil Pringle, Hope, About The Author, 2011.

This information is not true. Previous articles have revealed that C3 does NOT have over 300 churches. What is also untrue is that NONE of his colleges offer courses that supply “baccalaureate degrees”. The last degree students finished at the end of 2009 and graduated in summer school, February 2010. The graduation ceremony was in April and May. C3 Colleges no longer were running any more degree classes onsite in 2010. Why?

PERSONAL TESTIMONY

When I was involved at C3 Creative Arts College, C3 tried to establish an arts degree program. I was guaranteed that this was obtainable if I signed up for the arts degree program. They failed to get their program recognised.

However, they resulted in supplying creative arts students a theology degree program. However, when the Sydney College of Divinity investigated C3 College’s conduct on their theology degree program, they found many problems.

C3 were not to continue their theology degree program any more. I was with the last batch of students to obtain a degree from the C3 College.

PROOF C3 COLLEGES DO NOT PROVIDE DEGREE PROGRAMS

If none believe what I say, below is what the colleges offer.  Check out their college website here: http://www.c3college.com/main/. You will find that none offer “baccalaureate degrees”.

“COURSES OFFERED: ADVANCED DIPLOMA, DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATE IV OF CREATIVE ARTS IN CHRISTIAN MINISTRY, SPECIALISING IN ACTING AND THEATRECRAFT” – C3 College, http://www.c3college.com/main/creative/acting-and-theatrecraft, (Accessed 07/02/2012).

“COURSES OFFERED: ADVANCED DIPLOMA, DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATE IV OF CREATIVE ARTS IN CHRISTIAN MINISTRY, SPECIALISING IN CONTEMPORARY MUSIC / VOCALS AND WORSHIP LEADING” – C3 College, http://www.c3college.com/main/creative/contemporary-music-vocals-and-worship-leading, (Accessed 07/02/2012).

“COURSES OFFERED: ADVANCED DIPLOMA, DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATE IV OF CREATIVE ARTS IN CHRISTIAN MINISTRY, SPECIALISING IN CONTEMPORARY SONGWRITING” – C3 College, http://www.c3college.com/main/creative/contemporary-song-writing, (Accessed 07/02/2012).

“COURSES OFFERED: ADVANCED DIPLOMA, DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATE IV OF CREATIVE ARTS IN CHRISTIAN MINISTRY, SPECIALISING IN CONTEMPORARY VISUAL ARTS” – C3 College, http://www.c3college.com/main/creative/contemporary-visual-arts, (Accessed 07/02/2012).

“COURSES OFFERED: ADVANCED DIPLOMA, DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATE IV OF CREATIVE ARTS IN CHRISTIAN MINISTRY, SPECIALISING IN CONTEMPORARY DANCE” – C3 College, http://www.c3college.com/main/creative/contemporary-dance, (Accessed 07/02/2012).

“COURSES OFFERED: ADVANCED DIPLOMA, DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATE IV OF CREATIVE ARTS IN CHRISTIAN MINISTRY, SPECIALISING IN SCREEN PRODUCTION” – C3 College, http://www.c3college.com/main/creative/screen-production, (Accessed 07/02/2012).

C3’s Creative College reveals their Creative Arts Core Program does not offer “baccalaureate degrees”.

“Core Studies are on Tuesday and Thursdays in Certificate IV and Diploma and on Tuesdays in the Advanced Diploma, leaving the other days free for training in your chosen area of skill.”

Instead they offer,

“Core areas of study for all students over the one year full-time equivalent programme include:

Certificate IV

  • Theology and Film” – C3 College, http://www.c3college.com/main/creative/creative-arts-core-program, (Accessed 07/02/2012).

The C3 College Creative Stream (aka SCA) does not offer “baccalaureate degrees”.  The Leadership and Ministry Stream are no different. In Year 1, students get a Certificate IV in Leadership and Ministry courses.

In Year 2, students get a Diploma:

In Year 3, students get an Advanced Diploma. ‘Youth and Young Adults’ and ‘Pastoral Care’ is an elective within the Leadership and Ministry Stream. They do not offer “baccalaureate degrees”.

His online college and night schools also offer no “baccalaureate degrees”. No information can be found here at Night School (http://www.c3college.com/main/home/night-school) or C3 College Online (http://c3collegeonline.com/).

Therefore, we can conclude that Phil Pringle is misleading his readers into believing he offers quality education.

PRINGLE PURPOSELY CONFUSING READERS

It is not right for Phil Pringle to lump the educational quality of Oxford Falls Grammar School (OFGS) with his lack of quality education in his colleges:

“accredited education program that includes kindergarten through high school, and offers baccalaureate degrees in disciplines that include…”

OFGS may have students attend C3 Colleges after graduation and obtain scholarships. However, the educational quality is very different. Pringle’s 1985 Prospectus for his Ministry Training College says,

“We are not a “theological college” though we teach theology, nor even a “bible college” per se, but a ministry training college where students learn biblically how to be effective in the work force of Jesus.” – Ministry Training College Prospectus, 1985, pg 2.

An example of poor education for both colleges are as follows (more articles will be provided later):

C3 College & Dave Sumrall Teaching ‘All Sorts Of Evil’

C3 College: Misrepresenting The Gospel?

C3 has a track record of inviting some of the worst Christian teachers to speak at their colleges which they consider to be “most gifted and experienced ministers“.

CONCLUSION

If anyone has any information about the ISC, please email us at c3churchwatch@hotmail.com. We would like to look into this further if possible.

In relation to this, Pringle has misled his readers to believe…

1. That his church colleges offer “baccalaureate degrees” in:

     a) School of Ministry.

     b) School of Creative Arts “focusing in all disciplines of the arts”.

     c) The Pastoral Care and Counseling College.

     d) The International School of the Church.

2. That he oversees 300 C3 Churches when facts reveal this not to be the case.

It’s been more than a year for Pringle to know that his colleges do not run degree programs. We have constantly demonstrated that Pringle is flippant with the truth about the number of churches in his movement for his own convenience. If this is not intentional, then Pringle needs to stop failing the high standard he sets in his C3 Movement.

Pringle needs to explain why he misinforms readers about himself in his books.

If you feel lead to pray for Phil Pringle and the C3 Movement, please do. Please pray for Phil Pringle to be an accountable and responsible leader.

“If anyone advocates a different doctrine and does not agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness, he is conceited and understands nothing; but he has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words, out of which arise envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions, and constant friction between men of depraved mind and deprived of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment. For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either. If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content. But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. ” 1Timothy 6:3-10

Tanya Levin wrote the following about Phil Pringle (emphasis mine),

“Pastor Phil Pringle had been impressed by American Howard Cargill’s fundraising presentation to his congregation at Christian City Church and recommended that Brian meet with Cargill. `You don’t make money out of offerings, Brian,’ Phil is reported to have said, `you make it from bible colleges.’ Educational institutions, any buildings that are deemed for education, are the ones that get the biggest tax breaks.” – Tanya Levin, People in Glass Houses – An Insiders Story of a Life In & Out of Hillsong, Money Changes Everything, 2007, pg 99.

Pringle has found another way to capitalise from his bible colleges. He advertises his college as follows (emphasis mine),

“Leadership andMinistry C3 College is not for the faint hearted ‚Äö√Ñ√¨ it is for those who want to enter more deeply into the adventure of a lifetime ‚Äö√Ñ√¨ the radical life that is following Jesus. The Leadership & Ministry stream is designed to equip you for local church ministry, as well as ministry in the market place and you will be trained by world recognised practitioners in the body of Christ. At C3 College you will have inspiring leadership training, informative and practical Bible teaching and receive skills for living your best life!” – C3 College, http://www.c3college.com/main/, (Accessed 07/02/2011).

Principal Pat Antcliff that oversees the C3 Colleges misinforms the public saying in 2009 (emphasis mine),

“Lives that make a difference can’t be lived like everyone else. People who want to be fruitful in the service of God, need to be prepared. At C3 College that is what we’re passionate about, that is what we do!

We teach students the knowledge and skill they need to serve God with excellence. Our trainers are current, fruitful practitioners in leadership, creative ministry, youth ministry, children’s ministry, pastoral care and other key areas of local church.

Our specialist ministry and leadership skills are built on a firm foundation of biblical and theological understanding and Spirit empowerment – but our training doesn’t stop here. Lives that make a difference have strong character and well formed Kingdom motivations, attitudes and convictions.

The mentoring and discipleship that happen at C3 College build these areas of a person’s life. Thousands of our graduates around the world are living extraordinary lives serving God. Anything worthwhile has a price tag – However, the rewards for paying the price to prepare yourself to serve God are eternal.” – Pat Antcliff, About C3 College, http://web.archive.org/web/20110128141514/http://www.myc3church.net/node/46, 25/11/2010. In June 2010, guest speaker David Sumrall (a world recognised practitioner) taught C3 College students about money. It is clear that Sumrall’s motive was to groom the students to sacrificially finance Phil Pringle’s Vision Builders event. Pat Antcliff, the principal of the School of Ministry, was present in this meeting and did not speak against David Sumrall teaching (37:06).

Read how Sumrall unashamedly twists scripture and uses behavioural methods to convince students to give sacrificially to Pringle’s church.

“How many students were here yesterday? Are you still saved? Of all  the meetings that are gonna take place about the Vision Builders this week this is probably  this probably the most important meeting.

You’re the leaders of the church. You’re the staff . You’re the students. You set the tone. What happens here is going to determine the hearts of the people later on this week. I cannot possibly emphasise to you enough that what happens here this morning is going to completely determine the outcome what happens the rest of this week.

As the leaders go so the people go. Look to the person next to you and say ‘I’m a leader’. Bible school students I taught you yesterday that if pastors want to develop a prosperous church what are the things that has to happen is that the pastor has to be generous. This is where it begins with you as a student. As a student you say ‘I don’t have much money so why should I give’. Because this is where you begin to learn generosity. This is where you begin to practice generosity. This is where you begin to understand spiritual laws of reproduction that everything reproduces after its own kind. This is where the tone is set.

I like to dig and study in the bible and sometimes I get going after little rabbit trails that take me months to play with in my own devotions. One time I just started going after generational offerings.

And I got a little time today so I can relax – is that alright?

I started going after generational offerings. I told you a little about one yesterday in Romans chapter fifteen. That as Paul closed out an entire section of ministry  of his life , he was saying ‘Alright I am done with this entire section of the world. When I’m finished with this offering,  I’m headed to Spain’.  He spent the last several years of his life just raising an offering from all of the Gentile churches to go to the poor Christians in the church of Jerusalem – to bring healing between the Jew and the Gentile churches  – a generational offering.

And he went out to the church of Corinth. And I talked to you yesterday – that the church he had most trouble with was the church in Corinth because the church in Corinth never supported him. Their hearts had never followed their money to his leadership.  And so when he is raising this generational offering, of all the other churches, he had to take the most time trying to teach the church in Corinth about giving – because they were the worst givers. Because he had never allowed them to support him and – probably a right decision. But he said you know, ‘Was this so wrong that I did that I sin when I did not allow you to support me’. But he said, ‘I’m still not going to let you’. And then you read on a little bit farther, (as I showed you in the scriptures yesterday in second Corinthians) , the reason! He said ‘Even now when I send to you Timothy you think ‘clever fellow that he is, he sent Timothy to exploit us’.

You know there are people who have such terrible attitudes. And the reason they have these attitudes is the pastor has never led them in giving… Are we still here?”

So he looks at the church in Corinth and he makes a very interesting statement.  It’s one of those verses you honestly wish was not in the bible. I’m very serious. Second Corinthians chapter eight. Begin with verse eight.  He said ‘I am not commanding you’ – and I am not commanding you today to give an offering. It should not be given under compulsion.

‘I am not commanding you but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others – for or because you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. That though he was rich, for your sakes he became poor – so that you through his poverty might become rich’. He said ‘Hey! Look at the love of Jesus! Look at the sincerity of His love. He gave up everything to bring blessing to your life. He says “So now I’m looking at you church of Corinth. We’re trying to raise this last offering. I’m never going to be with you  again. I’m never going to influence you again.

I’m leaving this entire section of the world and I’m going to go Spain. This is my last hurrah. And I’m trying to make peace with your future so that the Judeazers will no longer come and torment you. I’m trying to let you see that your heart needs to follow your money to the people that gave spiritual birth to you.  And I’m trying to let them receive this offering. And ‘A gift given in secret soothe in anger and healing ’. So this is the last ‘hurrah’. Please. I am not commanding you. But let me test the sincerity of your love.”

I would look at you as leaders of the church. Of all people, you know the depth of this vision. You know the sincerity of this vision. Of all people in this church you live with it every day. But sometimes, sometimes staff begin to take things for granted. Sometimes with staff you allow a few little problems. Maybe your supervisor got upset with you because you were late for work two weeks ago and they got after you. You allow little human things to interfere with the sincerity of your love.

I looked at a deacon one time and we just finished pledges to take the church completely out of debt.  And I started with my board.  I asked each of them to write down an amount and pass it up to the head of the board table.  I said ‘It starts with us’. One man says ‘I’m not going to do it’.  And I said ‘I know where your heart is. Thank you’.  I said ‘I’m not commanding you. I just tested the sincerity of your love’. See if you look at peoples giving, you can see their future. Their money goes long before their body goes. Are we still here?

This is why Paul says ‘I am testing the sincerity of your love’. Now again, we don’t like this verse. We don’t even like this concept because it makes us very uncomfortable. But it is a true test. Our giving is the true test of the sincerity of our love. Not just for God, not just for our leaders, but for the entire work of God. Are we still here?

Another ‘generational seed’ – and then I’m gonna get into a special kind of a seed. Another generational seed was David at the very end of his life. And I talked with you a little about that the other day – this man of stewardship. At the end of his life, David and his generation was – I-I kind’a liked David’s generation . I always look at myself more like a David than a Solomon. David was the generation that broke the territory. The first man since Joshua to take new territory. The only man that ever pushed Israel back to the borders of the full promises. These weren’t the politest groups of people. Ok? These were the warriors. These were the men that shed blood. These were the men that sacrificed. These were the men that paid the price so that the next generation could enjoy blessing. At the end of their life, they showed again the sincerity of their love.

At the end of their life, at the end of their term as they turned it over to the next generation… David and the men that built the nation with him sowed what I would call a ‘generational seed’.  People talk about how Solomon built Israel and made it such a wealthy place.  Nah! I would not take any credit away from him but I would also say ‘Maybe don’t take any credit away from a ‘generational seed’. Because David and his men at the end of their lives, gave the largest offering in the history of Israel – broke the back of poverty off of that nation for a next generation – tested the sincerity of their love.

Another seed that’s fascinating to study is what I teach my people especially my people that are living hand to mouth – I call the ‘seed of daily provision’.  When our people just get born again and they are coming out of poverty, they’re selling vegetables at the side of the street or they’re selling little hamburgers off the little shop in front… We have one lady who started selling little hamburgers. She has never graduated from college. She has nothing. Just started selling little hamburgers . Two for one. Twenty five pesos – two for one. She is now selling three thousand hamburgers a day. Now she is becoming a wealthy woman. But she got hold of a little principle. – the ‘seed of daily provision’. This is based on the widow of Zaraphat. Every day she gave her first to God. Everybody say ‘Give first’. [Audience: Give first]

Some of you that are working and you doing daily wages, I would just sow a seed everyday first. And watch what God does for you. But the seed I want to talk to you today about – and it’s a wonderful seed. I call it the seed of wealth. Now people but stumble at the word but hold steady. Genesis chapter twenty six. Lets begin with verse one.

Now there was a famine in the land–besides the earlier famine of Abraham’s time–and Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines in Gerar. The LORD appeared to Isaac and said, “Do not go down to Egypt; live in the land where I tell you to live. Stay in this land for a while, and I will be with you and will bless you. For to you and your descendants I will give all these lands and will confirm the oath I swore to your father Abraham. I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and will give them all these lands, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because Abraham obeyed me and kept my requirements, my commands, my decrees and my laws.” So Isaac stayed in Gerar.

When the men of that place asked him about his wife, he said, “She is my sister,” because he was afraid to say, “She is my wife.” He thought, “The men of this place might kill me on account of Rebekah, because she is beautiful.” … When Isaac had been there a long time, Abimelech king of the Philistines looked down from a window and saw Isaac caressing his wife Rebekah. So Abimelech summoned Isaac and said, “She is really your wife! Why did you say, ‘She is my sister’?” Isaac answered him, “Because I thought I might lose my life on account of her.”

Then Abimelech said, “What is this you have done to us? One of the men might well have slept with your wife, and you would have brought guilt on us.” So Abimelech gave orders to all the people: “Anyone who molests this man or his wife shall surely be put to death.” Isaac planted crops in that land – and now this is interesting! This only happens now! He made the promise up here in verses one to three. Verse eight, he’s been there a loooong time. He’s been there what? He’s been there a long time during a famine. Now maybe you’ll begin to understand why later on we’ll read  ‘He became rich’. All of the wealth of Abraham was lost in this long time.

Isaac planted crops in that land and in that same year – now there’s no more ‘long time; – and in that same year reaped a hundredfold, because the LORD blessed him. The man became rich, and his wealth continued to grow until he became very wealthy. He had so many flocks and herds and servants that the Philistines envied him (welcome to life). So all the wells that his father’s servants had dug in the time of his father Abraham, the Philistines stopped up, filling them with earth.

Isn’t it amazing when people envy you they try to destroy your wealth. We’ll get into that in a little bit.  “Abimelech said to Isaac, “Move away from us; you have become too powerful for us.” So Isaac moved away from there and encamped in the Valley of Gerar and settled there. Isaac reopened the wells that had been dug in the time of his father Abraham, which the Philistines had stopped up after Abraham died, and he gave them the same names his father had given them. Isaac’s servants dug in the valley and discovered a well of fresh water there. But the herdsmen of Gerar quarreled with Isaac’s herdsmen and said, “The water is ours!” So he named the well Esek, because they disputed with him. Then they dug another well, but they quarreled over that one also; so he named it Sitnah. He moved on from there and dug another well, and no one quarreled over it. He named it Rehoboth, saying, “Now the LORD has given us room and we will flourish – we will flourish in the land.”

Let me walk you through very quickly ‘the seed of wealth’. In just a little while you’re going to be asked to show the sincerity of your love. You’re going to be asked to commit to sow a seed. But I also want you to understand that this is not just a test of the sincerity of your love. This is a determination of your future as I talked to you yesterday. When you sow a seed you are not throwing money away – you are sowing a seed. That’s why in my church I don’t even like to use the word ‘offering’ because in people’s religious minds it’s just throwing money away. And the unbeliever relative’s say ‘Why are you giving all that money to the church? You’re throwing money down a rat-hole.’

I tried to stop using the concept and the word ‘offering’ in my vocabulary and keep referring to it as  a seed so the people can understand that everything they are doing is working on their future. Who’s future? Now I want to talk to you about a seed of wealth for your future. In verses seven to ten we find a seed of wealth being sown. But the seed of wealth was only sowed – well lets go back up to verse three – a seed of wealth was only sown from a life of obedience. It was sown from a what? We already showed you earlier that Abraham obeyed. Look at verse three. God said

“Stay in this land for a while, and I will be with you and will bless you. For to you and your descendants I will give all these lands and will confirm the oath I swore to your father Abraham.”

Verse six “So Isaac stayed in Gerar”. You are not going to sow a seed and get blessing if you are not going to live an obedient life. Now there are Christians that want to come along and teach you that the law of the seed violates almost every other scriptural law – but it doesn’t work that way. The law of the seed, the law of sowing and reaping works in conjunction with all the other biblical principles.

Isaiah 1:19 If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land.

If you’re willing and what? [audience: obedient]. There has to be a principle of obedience in your life. Now when you look at Isaac, forgive me. He got as close as he could to disobeying and still obeyed. He was in the land of Gerar. In today’s world you’ call it the Gaza Strip. He was as close to Egypt as he could get and still be in the promised land. He was (forgive me), as close to disobedience as you could get – and still be in the Promised Land. But he was still in obedience!

Now I’ll show you later that that bought some more troubles for him. And you’ll find that when you get as close to disobedience as you can get and still not disobey, there’s always going to be people that will help try to push you over. So I’ve tried to live my life as far away from the edge as possible so that when people push I don’t fall over. We read you earlier how these guys were trying to push you out of the land. It always happens when you get as close as you can and still obey. So please, I am not recommending that you live in the land of Gaza – that you live in the land of Gerar. I’d recommend that you get as far – get up in Telaviv. Get as far as you can away from Egypt.

But here he was – and he understood a principle: “My father was blessed because He obeyed. I’m going to stay in this land. I’m going to obey. I may be a close to the edge as possible but I am going to obey.” Everybody say obey. [Audience: obey!]

So the first thing – if you’re going to sow a seed of wealth, take a good look at your life and make sure that there is no rebellion and there’s no disobedience in your life – that you are living where God wants you to live. [Puts hands to ears to hear audience’s response]

I can’t hear you. [Audience: Amen!]

Secondly – it is a seed that is sown from a family at peace. It is a seed that is sown from a family at peace. The bible teaches us that where you find strife you find every evil thing. Where you find strife you don’t blessing. Where you find strife you find every evil thing. Now I want you to notice he was not a family at peace. Now he did not have peace in his family for two reasons.

Number one – he had not peace in his family because he was living with a temporary attitude. And a temporary attitude messes up your relationships. “What do you mean ‘a temporary atiitude’?”

Nobody who has a permanent attitude of “This is where I stay”, walks around and lies about his relationship with his wife. Nobody said “This is my sister”, when it’s really your wife – if you think you’re going to have any long term relationship here. People only lie and exaggerate in temporary situations. How many people know what I am talking about?

I think that Isaac got focused on a few words: “Stay in this land for awhile”. I think he stayed in Gaza, as close to Egypt as possible because God – he focused on the second half of the sentence rather than the first half of the sentence. He focused on “for a while” and not “stay in the land”. And then he was afraid of these people. And because he was afraid of these people AND he had a temporary attitude, he lied about his wife. Now how many ladies are here? Will you raise your hands? How many married ladies in here – will you raise your hands?

How will you feel, in a strange country, in a strange place, and your husband said “Listen, I am not going to act like I married you”? In other words ladies, you’re on your own. “I’m not going to protect you. I am not going to act like a husband to you. Sweetheart, you’re on your own. You’re going to fend off all those advances on your own. I put no protection. I do not put my name on you.

Now let me ask you a question. What kind of relationship you think he had with her for a while?

I can just imagine coming home at night. “Hey sweetheart give me a kiss.” “Yeah! You want to own me now huh? When you’re out there in the market you don’t know me! When you come home, oh yeah!”

Do you think there was any peace in their house? Mm-mm! (Suggests no.)

No peace – I promise you. Single guys – you do not understand this yet. But as a married man, if you act like “She’s not mine”, that rips a woman’s insides apart. Makes her completely insecure. Makes her feekl completely afraid. So here he is. His temporary attitude – his fear of the people of the land and it has done nothing. These attitudes have done nothing but bring strife into his own family. Now you begin to understand verse eight – when Isaac had been there a long time.

I personally believe that in that long time, living in a famine, Abraham – all of Abraham’s wealth – that had been passed by inheritance to Isaac, was lost. Because in a few moments, I will show you in this way he became rich. He what? [Audience: became rich]

That means wealth started. That means something had been lost. That family strife delayed blessing in his life. God said “You stay in the land and I will bless you”. It was a long time before any blessing happened. Why? Strife! The temporary attitude! The fear that brought strife within his family. Only when that thing got fixed; only when the king exposed it – and I believe that was the grace of God that made it very uncomfortable for Isaac. But it was the grace of God that he got caught cos of his life. Finally the king said “That’s not your sister, that’s your wife!”

“Yeah it really is.”

“Why did you lie to us?”

“I was afraid.”

“NO BODY TOUCH HIM ANY MORE!”

And now, he’s very confident and secure. “Come hear sweetie, I’ll hold you in my arm.” Now it probably took him a few weeks probably even a few months to get her feeling good again. [Laughter] I don’t imagine that happened instantly. At least it wouldn’t with my wife. I would have some penalties to pay for awhile on that one. And every guy hear who is married understands exactly what I mean. I mean you don’t just don’t walk back up and “- Hi sweetie! Come here! You’re mine now!” “Rmm – when’s the next time you’re gonna walk away from me? Hmm?”

But when that peace was finally there, when the fear was no longer there, when he finally got over his fear of the people and his temporary attitude, then he planted the seed.

So when you ask “Why was there the delay?” – he had to get the strife out of his family. So if you’re going to sow a seed of wealth, you have to sow it from a life of obedience and you have to sow it from a family at peace. From a family at what? [Audience: Peace]

Thirdly, the seed that is sown is a reallocated asset. Verse twelve: “Isaac planted crops in that land”. Now again, Isaac had been raised his entire life to be a herdsmen. He was not a farmer. To plant crops, ties him to the land. He’s no longer thinking “God, how quick can I leave? You said “I only had to stay here for a while. God, how quick can I leave? You said “I only had to stay here for a while”. Now he’s finally putting down roots, literally. He’s planting a crop. He’s saying “My contemporary attitude is over”.

Now some of you: you can’t prosper because you won’t STICK some place. “When’s God gonna lead me out? When’s God gonna lead me out? When’s God gonna lead me out?”

I looked at one of my assistant pastors one time and he said “Pastor, why doesn’t God prosper me? All the other pastors on staff are prospering”. I said “Because you’re a TUMBLEWEED! You’re always talking about going someplace else!”. … … Are we still here?

I said “Why don’t you just understand God told you to be HERE? Settle in HERE!”. Are we still here? That one was free.

But in addition to getting over the temporary attitude, putting down roots so-to-speak, he had to do something he had never done before. The grain he would have had, he would have used to feed his family and to feed his flocks and herds. He had not been a farmer. It had never been in their family history, to be a farmer. They were herdsman. They constantly moved around. He had to do something he had never done before, (and that’s a whole ‘nother study), and he had to be willing to reallocate an asset that he had set aside for something else, literally for consumption. And instead of consuming an asset, sow an asset. Everybody say “instead of consuming… [Audience: Instead of consuming] … sow” [Audience: Sow].

Now forgive me but some of you here as you lead the way today, you’re going to  some seeds that are going to be a re-allocation of assets.

You’ve saved money to buy an I-Pad. Some of you students, you’ve been saving your money to buy an I-Pad. There’s none for sale anyway, I tried all day yesterday to buy one. I’ve been to 3 Apple stores. Don’t worry about it.

Some of you saved money to buy an I-Pad. You’re gonna sow it. Notice how quiet it just got in here? Some of you, you’ve been saving money for a new car. You’re gonna re-allocate that asset and sow it. Some of you families, you’ve been saving money to buy a house. You’re gonna take that money and sow it.

And it’s gonna take a step of faith for you because it’s something you’ve never done before. But a seed of wealth is not a seed that is just …. “Ahhh… doesn’t mean anything to me”. It’s a seed that is a re-allocation of a consumption.

Fourth thing. A seed of wealth is a seed that is going to bring a harvest of wealth and of envy. Verses twelve and thirteen: “Isaac planted crops in that year and in that same year reaped a hundredfold, because the Lord blessed him. The man became rich, and his wealth continued to grow until he became – very wealthy”. We’ve talked about that. Verse fourteen: “He had so many flocks and herds and servants that the Philistines – envied him. Now envy is a funny word.

Envy is a bad attitude that seeks to destroy what you have. How many of you would like God to bless you – and make you rich? [Sumrall puts up his hand with audience.] Wave your hand at me. Are you sure? [Long pause]

Are you sure? You know what I noticed in my life? When my wife and I were poor and struggling and we had nothing, nobody bothered us. Nobody bothered me! I laughed at my wife and said to her, “Sweetheart. When we drove ten year old cars and we wore old clothes and we had nothing and you know – we were struggling for everything? Nobody bothered us! Now that there’s a harvest season in our life, it is AMAZING!” And you want to look at people and go “You know, you sure didn’t think about me for twenty years when I had nothing. Now that we have a nice car and are buying a house…”, you know, went out and bought my wife a gold watch for our twenty-fifth anniversary, (I figured any woman who could put up with me for twenty five years ought a have a gold watch!).

So I saved my money and bought her a solid gold – gold bracelet, everything – ahhmm… what was it – Franck Muller Conquistador in rose gold, cos red’s her favourite colour. She wore that watch the first day! – Board member walked up – “Pastor SUMRALL! Is your wife wearing a gold watch?” I said “Yeah! I brought it for her twenty-fifth anniversary. Isn’t it beautiful?”

“Well I just don’t think it’s appropriate.”

I said, “Well she’s not your wife, so don’t worry about it”. [audience laughs and applauses]

Now you’re going to have to understand. You sit here now and go “Yeah! I’m going to sow a seed of wealth!” But you’re going to have to understand, with that harvest of riches that God will bless you with, there comes envy. And envy will not be a quiet thing. They will work to destroy what you have. Now for sake of time I won’t go through it all, but how many times have they plugged up the wells? Now when you plug up the wells, and a guy owns flocks and herds – what happens to the flocks and herds when there is no water? They DIE!

So they weren’t just trying to take something away from him, they were trying to destroy everything he had. Now you’re going to have to understand that some Christisn’s out there… [gets theatrically frustrated and places bible frustratingly on forehead – audience laughs] … that when they see you blessed…

[Sumrall preaches really loud] Now they don’t know the price you pay. They don’t know the obedience. They don’t know the work of having a family at peace. They don’t know the sacrifice of sowing and a reallocated asset. They don’t care about any of that because they are not willing to do any of that. But when you do it and God brings you your harvest, and it’s not just a harvest that comes one time, you CONTINUE to grow richer. See, a seed of wealth is a seed that keeps growing. It keeps what? [Audience: Growing!]

It’s not like a ‘one time harvest’, it’s like… you… you get a harvest of something that continues to expand and – (my goodness! That’s a whole ‘nother study that I don’t dare get into today!)… it’s an expanding harvest. It’s like getting a-a little thing of bread and you stick a bunch of yeast to it and it just keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger! That’s the kind-a harvest you get when you sow this ‘seed of wealth’.

But there’s always somebody trying to pop your bread. There’s always somebody trying to destroy what you’ve got and you have to be willing to face that. Now the thing that they will do, is they will try to push you into the place of disobedience. They kept stopping up the wells, trying to make him move away from the land. Where is water when you are in Gaza? Where is the closest water? Egypt.

This is why you don’t want to get too close to [long pause] disobedience. Because when the time of envy happens, the pressure that will come against your life is a pressure that will destroy your prosperity and now you don’t want to move because of fear – now you want to move because of frustration.

“How do I continue to take care of everything God’s given me when these people are trying to destroy everything? I’m just gonna get out of here!”

And they try to push you in to the place of disobedience. And once you get into the place of disobedience, what happens to the blessings? They stop.

So I want to encourage you today – as you the seed, move to the place of obedience and move as fr into the place of obedience as possible. As far in as possible. Because when the envy comes – and it will come, I promise you – and I wish I can take that away from you and say “Oh no! No! No! It’ll never!” – it will  come! They will do everything they can to drive you away from the place God told you to be and bring blessing. They will drive you to the place of obed- uh, disobedience.

Obedience… family peace… sow the seed and understand verses twelve and thirteen – that his wealth continued to grow. It is going to be a seed – and I don’t know how to explain how it happens cos it happens in every person’s life differently. I can show you people in my church – people your pasters met: George (and Marie M?). They started with us years and years ago, long then we all walked and remembered. They never graduated college. And in the Philippines, if you haven’t graduated from college you’re basically going to be a [undecipherable] driver or a bus driver for the rest of your life, or a janitor. You have not future. They never graduated college.

They started a little export business making (I don’t know what you call them – knick-knacks – something that I don’t particularly have an affection for. [Audience: Laughs] Ok… It just takes up space and you have to hire a maid to dust them you know.) But they make knick-knacks and they make Christmas tree decorations – that kind of stuff. They just started making this little stuff that didn’t look like anything. And now today they supply Target, Maisees, Saxfifth Avenue, Bombay, (I think it’s called Combombay(?) or something like that). But the biggest companies in the United States – Walmart – they’re supplying them!

Companies come to them and say “Listen! We want to have it manufactured in China. But we want you to make the samples. So we’ll pay you ten times the normal price and you make an entire container of samples for us that we’ll use for quality control. I said “George, you need to go start a factory in China”. [Sumrall pulls a mopey face in response to own advice]

He’s brought a mountain now. He opened a restaurant for his son who is a professional chef and now they’re franchising it. Everything they touched just – it’s wealth that continues to grow. But I’ve watched that family.  I’ve watched the life of obedience they’ve lived. I’ve watched the family peace that they’ve had. And I’ve watched every time we stood up and said: “We’ve got a vision to fulfill”.

I’ve watched them give the biggest seed they’ve ever sown in their lives and said “Pastor, what a privilege to be able to give into God’s vision. I’ve watched other people that have forgotten how they got where they are today. Owch! They got where they are because that’s how they started. But after sowing into the vision for seven years or ten years… it becomes so… ho-humm! [Sumrall pulls droopy-mocking face. Long pause.] Are we still here?

And they say “Why doesn’t God bless me like he used to bless me?”. Because you’re not acting like you did when He blessed you. It starts with us. Would you stand with me please.

[Music set up on stage starts.] Did you learn something? [Pause.] Would you join your hands together? In just a moment, you’re going to have an opportunity to make a commitment. You’ve heard all the cliché words: “Let it be the biggest commitment that you’ve ever made in your life – yadi-yadi-yadi-ya.”

But you know what? They’re all true because they are all about your future. (Pause.) Look at the person next to you and say “They’re all true…” [Audience: They’re all true…] … Because they’re all about my future [Audience: Because they’re all about my future.] You know, just because you heard something a thousand times doesn’t make it untrue. Truth is truth! [Piano music starts in background. Ryan Smith is still setting up guitar and mic.]

I got up this morning. First thing I did was text my wife, “Kiss me baby”. Now don’t you tell anybody I said that [laughter] because my wife would be embarrassed, OK? But it’s ‘our little thing’. As many times as I text her “Kiss me baby!” it’ll make her smile, and I just think about kissing her. Just because I’ve said it ten thousand times doesn’t make it not true. Just because a truth has been said to you a hundred times doesn’t make it not true. Never get ho-hum with truth because that’s when you start going into a different direction. I want you to follow me in a simple prayer: –  I almost started talking in Tagalog. Look I’m sorry, I had to catch myself. Say this with me:

Father. [audience repeats]. In Jesus name [audience repeats] I recognize my place [audience repeats] as a leader [audience repeats] in this house [audience repeats]. I recognize the spiritual principles [audience repeats] and the laws that work [audience repeats]. I ask you today: [audience repeats] let the sincerity of my heart [audience repeats] be shown to you [audience repeats] that I am committed to your vision [audience repeats]. I am committed [audience repeats] to changing lives [audience repeats], that what we talk about here today, [audience repeats] is not just money [audience repeats] it’s something that’s going to change a life [audience repeats]. It’ s something that’s going to bring people to heaven [audience repeats], people I’ll never see until that day [audience repeats]. Let the sincerity of my heart [audience repeats] be proven today Lord [audience repeats] as I sow this seed [audience repeats] in Jesus name… [audience repeats] …” – David Sumrall, Combined Students & Staff Meeting Of C3 Colleges, http://www.c3churchglobal.com/video/dave-sumrall-teaching-at, C3 Oxford Falls, 16/6/2010.

FALSE TEACHERS TEACHING C3 COLLEGE STUDENTS

Whether a student is studying Cert II, Cert IV, Diploma or Degree, ALL C3 students had to listen to certain speakers. My personal experience when studying at C3 College included Kong Hee and Dave Sumrall speak to classes in both the Creative Stream and the Leadership Stream (formerly known as School of Creative Arts (SCA) and School of Ministry (SOM)).

C3 College & Dave Sumrall Teaching ‘All Sorts Of Evil’

When reading Dave Sumrall’s motivation behind his sermon, it is pretty clear he is purely groom C3 College students for Pringle’s Vision Builders Giving Event and abusing scripture. Many students either rely on their parents financially, Centrelink or on the very little money they get.

Kong Hee Sermon At C3 College (Snippets)

Oddly enough, both Sumrall and Hee’s teachings to C3 students are about money. These are just a few examples of what to expect in C3 Colleges.

BENNY HINN AT C3 OXFORD FALLS

College Students do a course called ‘Ministry Placement’. This course requires students to work hours in ministry. It could be in their own church or in the C3 movement. Benny Hinn came to C3 Church in 2006. To get some of my hours up, I served at a Benny Hinn conference at C3 Church Oxford Falls for a few days in 2007. The deputy principle advised C3 College students to serve at Hinn’s Conference to make the most of it and learn from him for free (all people attending had to pay to go see him teach and perform).

He talked on anointing, power and money. Here are some of my notes in Benny Hinn’s Conference at C3 Church Oxford Falls.

“How to increase the anointing: Hunger, unity – oneness in the Spirit (Acts 1:12), Worship (2Kings 3:15), Prayer (Acts 4:29-34), Association … (Acts 4:13, Num 27:18).

You can experience a decent so worship, unite again & stir up hunger. Luke 20:3-32 -> heart life. Acts 19:12 Paul releases his power on hanky. Mark 6:56. 100% of anointing will effect objects. Demons are from Pre-Adamic race. Not fallen angels. 5 Division of Angels – Seraphim (Declare), Cherabim (Protect), Living Ones – Thousands of Eyes (Judgment), Arc Angels, Common Angel (no wings). Under Satan’s domain he had demons.

1 – Sheol Abode of the dead (Hades/Hell). 2 – Paradise Abode of the saints (Abrahams Bosom). 3 – Tartarus Abode of the wicked angels (Prison). 4 – Pit/Abyss Abode of Demons. 5 – Gehenna/Lake of fire – all wicked go. Lev 14 – The oil is found in the blood. God’s blood was shed seven times. Ear lobe, thumb and toe… “Give to God, not to man, not to ministries. You wont feel offended when they use it.”

Anointing/Gods power multiplies. Presence = BE. Power = DO. We don’t need gifts in heaven, we only need them now. Presence is always maintained. It doesn’t grow. His power does. “Take more of me” = flesh cancelled. “Come closer” = x flesh fed. God’s power is multiplied & it can be imparted. You can’t impart Jesus/presence, only God’s power. Presence protects you from God’s power. People seek God’s power which is destructive. Seek life: Jesus (Presence). Ecc 9:8

God’s presence is fully in you. Job 29:6 -> Deuteronomy 32:13. Anointing is hard to receive and hard to keep… Matt 17:17 Effects of the anointing: feel full. Feel light as though you are flying. It was so powerful you should – you feel power not His presence. If anointing is dripping through, one person can take it out of you. Feel fire all over you. “Fire can hit your mouth”. Dan 10:10 Shaking or trembling. ‘Joy’ bubbling. Psalm 45:1

Moses, like Jesus, came down the mount in glory… the lighter I get, the stronger the power is… Distraction breaks the anointing. Focus on how real Jesus is and don’t be distracted! If you can reach that level, don’t lose it. Otherwise build from scratch. Distraction is Satan’s weapon to bring you down. Possible to start engines again in midflight. Don’t start them up when you’re about to land. You’ll crash! Impart the anointing when not your feet, or knees or neck are wet, but when you are full under it, swimming. Feel it grow from your feet to the top of your head.”

In this service Benny Hinn talked for many hours on money. He asked people in the congregation who was in debt. I was at the very back of the room looking down at the entire congregation. More than 90% of the people who were in the room put up their hands (including pastors). It was truly a sad sight. It was then that I realised I had the horrifying job as an usher to exploit these poor people financially. Hinn told people to write their hearts desire on the back of an envelope and to put their money in it. He then prayed his prayer to God over people’s sacrificial giving.

First off, I made jokes that were to prevent people give their money to Benny Hinn (“No time to waste! If you want that hot wife, give us your cash!”). People enjoyed the jokes but insisted in giving their cash much to my utter shame. I was representing my home church, C3 and Jesus. I was torn. I was completely paralyzed and shut down. I refused to do it – but was given the giving buckets in my hand by an older usher.

Against my own will – I collected people’s money for Benny Hinn. People were buying their miracle. I was crying inside. I was wondering how I could forgive myself, or even God forgiving me after participating in this fleece-a-thon. I was upset all week. This was my personal experience as a C3 College student.

Many other students received his teachings. A friend of mine on the second night was ‘slain in the Spirit’ by Benny Hinn. We were in a worship course on Wednesday where my friend was a complete mess. When I later talked to him – my friend talked about Benny Hinn ‘slaying him in the spirit’. He was an emotional wreck. I knew then and there that Hinn could not be operating under the power of the Holy Spirit if my friend had not emotionally recovered from being ‘slain’ by the spirit.

Someone else at this event went to the front to Benny Hinn. While Hinn was moving under his so-called ‘anointing’, this person took a photo of Hinn at the front. As the flash went off, Benny Hinn stopped what he was doing and yelled angrily at the person saying that the anointing he was operating under had stopped. According to my notes – Benny Hinn’s plane just crashed. My latter theological lecturers from real universities and alternative theological colleges revealed how absurd the teachings of Benny Hinn, Dave Sumrall, Kong Hee and Phil Pringle actually were.

C3 CHURCH & C3 COLLEGES REBEL AGAINST GODS WORD

C3 invites many of these ‘Generals’ and ignores the scriptures. Jude demonstrates that people like Sumrall and Hee are perverters of God’s grace. C3 College is allowing such deceptive teachers to deceive students with their erroneous teachings.

“For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.” – Jude 1:4. (NASB)

“Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them.

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for it is light that makes everything visible.” – Apostle Paul, Eph 5:1-4. (NASB)

As the bible says, C3 Church and C3 College partake in fruitless deeds with darkness and don’t expose these false teachers they invite. Not only do students struggle to pay for their course, they are taught false things at their own expense. Students struggle to be blessed by God financially when they are told to submit to the practices and teachings of such teachers. As a student, I had to attend many of these destructive classes. It disturbed me greatly that I could not question their teachings, even after challenging the SCA principal on such matters.

WHAT ARE GODS GENERALS?

Gods Generals is a charismatic/pentecostal title that often is given to an outstanding, controversial Christian figure that brings some form of change to the church. Such people include William Branham, John Wesley, Charles Spurgeon, Alexander Dowie or Charles Finnie, etc.

Unfortunately, the title itself does not necessarily encompass the theological or damaging implications of certain Generals. Some of the so-called ‘Gods Generals’ became cult-leaders, heretics, immoral or blasphemers. Some of these figures have been treated in a similar way to the dead saints in the Roman Catholic Church faith including  John G. Lake, Kathryn Kuhlman. For example, it is well-known such ministers like Benny Hinn, Bill Johnson, John Crowder and Todd Bentley visit grave sites of John G Lake, Kathryn Kuhlman or Alexander Dowie. Some pray at their graves or go further to receive their ministries, anointings, impartations or angels.

Ministers don’t need to die to be considered a General. Today a general can be defined as someone who is ‘radically impacting the world for Christ’. Theology and the message of salvation no longer define a General. The title has become more an outcomes title, based on how big or radical their church movement is.

FALSE TEACHERS IN THE ABOVE LIST OF GODS GENERALS

Some of the worlds worst or dangerous teachers that are mentioned in the above list include David Yonngi Cho, Bill Hybels, Joyce Meyer (Gnostic/Prosperity Teacher) , Kong Hee (Gnostic/Prosperity Teacher) , Jesse Duplantis (Prosperity Teacher), Michael Pitts (Prosperity Teacher) and TD Jakes (Oneness Pentecostal Cult teacher and TBN Prosperity Teacher).

We encourage readers to further research these people for themselves to provide C3 Church Watch with additional information.

Nancy Alcorn is president of the Mercy Ministries. Unfortunately, while helping many women with problems, a number of scandals have rocked through Mercy Ministries in Australia. Their counseling methods and treatment of women have been scrutinized by local media and the general public. C3 clearly invited her in the past, not wary of these scandals to come.

Joseph Garlington seems involved in some ecumenical movement in the US. In the past he was involved in the problematic Shepherding Movement and is still involved with the occult-like, pseudo-Christian cult, New Apostollic Reformation (NAR), movement. He often speaks in Prosperity Movement Conferences (Promise Keepers).  He also endorses the false teachings of Bill Johnson (he did a foreword to Bill Johnson’s book, Face to Face with God: The Quest to Experience His Presence).

Dick Bernall is also associated with the NAR and endorses false prophets on Elijah List. He is also known to preach the prosperity gospel as well.

Cathy Lechner has also been labeled as a soothsayer and false prophet. Her associations with some very questionable ministries demonstrate her inability to discern truth from error.

Kate Miner is a musician and is not to be associated with those above.

NOTE: ALL SCREEN GRABS WERE TAKEN BEFORE THE 29/01/2012.
