PHIL PRINGLE: CORRUPT TEACHING & MANIPULATIVE GIVING.

Below is a transcript of Pringle in his sermon ‘Fighting The Good Fight P1’, preached on Sunday the 19th of January, 2014 (video being obtained).

Let’s analyse and review it:

“Everything you hear us preach up here isn’t by accident. We have thoroughly researched the opposition to it and the positive to it and it’s on a firm conviction and foundation of our faith of what we believe, in Jesus name, amen!”

Phil Pringle has been unashamedly promoting the false teaching about tithing for years. Below, Pringle declares what he and other preachers preach behind the C3 pulpit, “isn’t by accident“. If Pringle is openly admitting that what he teaches is not an accident, then how does he explain this ‘accident’?

A Good Example Of Pringle Teaching Dishonestly

Is he prepared to admit that he lied to his congregation about God saying to Joshua that ‘Someone took the tithe’? Is he prepared to admit that he twists the word of God to manipulate his congregation into giving money?

“So when- when stuff comes along about tithing and all that, I’m not bothered by that! I’ve done the research!”

We’re calling Pringle out on this. There is no way he can claim he’s researched this field in depth and then go on to mislead the congregation about his ‘teaching’ on the tithe. He claims, “Everything you hear us preach up hear isn’t by accident”. Can he then play the ‘ignorance’ card once he’s exposed for defending such a heresy?

And if he truly believes this, wouldn’t this make the church view this man, behind the pulpit, as biblically illiterate when it comes to properly teaching on the OT tithe doctrine and NT ‘joyful giving’?

PRINGLE CAN SPEAK AS THOUGH QUALIFIED?

This leads us to the next outrageous thing Pringle states:

“I’ve viewed the opposition’s thoughts! RIDICULOUS, UNQUALIFIED THINKING THAT ARE CONVENIENT FOR STINGY PEOPLE! That’s all it is!”

The tithe doctrine has been refuted for years by scholars, properly trained men in leadership, in the pastoral office and in the fields of apologetics. It is a false doctrine that is peddled by Word of Faith cults or ‘wolves’ who want to fleece the flock. What makes this even more outrageous is Pringle’s own hypocrisy.

Qualified vs unqualified? Don’t you think that’s interesting coming from Phil Pringle considering the fact that he’s been ‘exposed’ for misleading his church into believing that his credentials are legitimate?

If there is anyone who is unqualified to be behind the pulpit – Pringle fulfills his own criteria perfectly.

Is Doctor Phil Pringle Really a Doctor?

What Is Wrong With Gordon & Kong?

Congo Line Of Unqualified Ministers Endorsed By Phil Pringle

And for someone unqualified as Pringle, he insists he has the ‘right’ to brainwash Christians everywhere with his false teachings on this dangerous doctrine which shipwrecks people’s faith. In fact, he accuses Christians, that if they withhold the tithe from God, they are “cursed” and accuses Christians of being “the very worst of thieves“.

If Pringle has “viewed the opposition’s thoughts”, why has he only hurled insults their way and created straw men arguments? His assertions have been nothing but misleading eisegesis to keep people quiet and to keep his congregation bound by his legalistic manipulation.

PRINGLE BRAINWASHING C3 MEMBERS?

“With opposite doctrines and teachings that you’ll hear floating around now and then. They may shake you in mind and trouble you a little. But that’s so to drive you to reinforce your conviction about what you believe.”

Notice the deceptive technique Pringle is employing here. If his members are shaken ‘in mind’, he does not encourage them to do a bible study on the tithe. Instead, he insists that these ‘opposite doctrines’ only reinforces this false teaching that he wants his members to believe. This is brainwashing. He is not encouraging people to look at the facts. Instead he is appealing to their emotions as a form of ‘blackmail’.

Sadly, THE opposite doctrine that refutes his false doctrine is the gospel of salvation itself. In other words, he is conditioning C3 members to harden their hearts against Christianity to embrace Pringle’s own works-based religion.

And then of course, Pringle decides to plug his “colleges”.

To get yourself to an longline college or bible college. You can watch it online if you’re watching online now. Online. Online. Just go ahead and enjoy it.”

These colleges are all about indoctrinating people to fit the C3 system. Sadly, the emails and documents we have received from ex-students have confirmed that what they are taught is a poor excuse of biblical Christianity.

It is true that Pringle’s colleges shake people. They shake every penny out of their pockets, shake any truth out of their brain cells and shake any integrity out of their souls.

C3 College: Misrepresenting The Gospel?

C3 Bible College Students Taught To Be Manipulative Leaders

Pringle later states,

“And uh- First all get a cornerstone of our faith, firmly established so we’re not moved and shaken. I see people get tossed around and suddenly they are believing something else that they didn’t hear at the beginning! Because there is always somebody trying to kill, steal or destroy your faith. It’s a fight to hold on and apart of that fight is to get yourself on a firm, unshakable foundation. “

Notice how he avoids making CHRIST and the CROSS the foundation of the Christian life. In fact, you can watch his entire sermon on his site. Any viewer should be concerned that Pringle refused to connect the ‘cornerstone’ with Christ and the foundation of their faith with Christ. That’s because according to Pringle, faith (mixed with the tithe) is the foundation – not Christ alone. It’s reinforced a number of times that the cornerstone of the believers life is the tithe.

Pringle’s ‘Financial Excellence’ Bible Study Notes, Exposed

So why are C3 members submitting to an unqualified man who appears to be blowing immature ‘raspberries’ at those who have refuted the absurd tithe doctrine? C3 members need to wake up and leave this false teacher behind, with his false words and false credentials.

TRANSCRIPT

Here is the transcript:

“Everything you hear us preach up hear isn’t by accident. We have thoroughly researched the opposition to it and the positive to it and it’s on a firm conviction and foundation of our faith of what we believe, in Jesus name, amen!

So when- when stuff comes along about tithing and all that, I’m not bothered by that! I’ve done the research! I’ve viewed the opposition’s thoughts! RIDICULOUS, UNQUALIFIED THINKING THAT ARE CONVENIENT FOR STINGY PEOPLE! That’s all it is! That’s all it is! If the cap fits, you know like- the deal is, that you’ve got to know what you believe and not let yourself be shaken. God is building an unshakable church!

And listen, here’s the thing in Hebrews twelve, twenty six… [Pringle reads Hebrews 12:26]

Now here’s the thing, God’s gonna shhh- allow you to be shaken. With opposite doctrines and teachings that you’ll hear floating around now and then. They may shake you in mind and trouble you a little. But that’s so to drive you to reinforce your conviction about what you believe. To get yourself to an longline college or bible college. You can watch it online if you’re watching online now. Online. Online. Just go ahead and enjoy it.

And uh- First all get a cornerstone of our faith, firmly established so we’re not moved and shaken. I see people get tossed around and suddenly they are believing something else that they didn’t hear at the beginning! Because there is always somebody trying to kill, steal or destroy your faith. It’s a fight to hold on and apart of that fight is to get yourself on a firm, unshakable foundation. There will be weak areas in everybody’s faith. Everybody’s got a weakness somewhere. A hole. And so the Lord allows that to be a bit shaky there so you can reinforce it. And build it up and get strong in that area. In fact, some of the areas is that I’m the strongest on are the areas that I was weakest on. Simply because of that fact.

You don’t grow strong without opposition or resistance. Ask any fitness trainer in the room. Their gonna tell you that’s the way you build muscle.”

Tithing is not a command in the New Testament – we give out of love, from the heart because we are under a new unconditional covenant not the Old Testament law.

Kevin Dyson

As pointed out in my previous post (here), City Harvest Church’s (CHC) Rev “Dr” Kong Hee and Rev “Dr” Phil Pringle obtained their master’s and doctorates from the grandly named New Covenant International University and Theological Seminary (NCIU), a diploma mill (awarding bogus degrees for money) in Lake Worth, Florida.

NCIU was founded in Auckland, New Zealand in 1978 by a New Zealander “Dr” Kevin Dyson, who has only very recently (September 2010) been appointed to the Advisory Committee of CHC, along with Phil Pringle, to improve CHC’s  structure, governance and accountability  (source).

Kevin Dyson is also on the Board of CMN Ministry, which is affiliated with Phil Pringle’s C3 Church (source)

Kong Hee serves on NCIU’s International Board of Reference, and is a non-resident faculty member of NCIU. (see screenshot below)

It therefore appears that Kong Hee, Phil Pringle and the founder of the diploma mill, Kevin Dyson, are on very close terms indeed.

“Dr” Kevin Dyson is also an Adjunct Lecturer at  Tung Ling Seminary, Malaysia (affiliated with Tung Ling Bible School, Singapore).

********************************Kevin Dyson’s doctorates

According to NCIU (here, full text reproduced below) and Tung Ling Seminary (here, full text reproduced below):

Kevin Dyson holds a Master of Religious Education and a Doctor of Divinity (Restoration Church History) from Jubilee International Bible Institute, CA, USA, as well as a Doctor of Philosophy in Biblical Counseling from Evangelical Theological Seminary, MO, USA.

Dr Kevin DysonB.A. (B.Th.): JubileeInt’lBibleCollege, Qld, Australia

M.Rel.Ed. Jubilee Int’l Bible Institute, CA, USA

Ph.D. (Bib. Counseling): Evangelical Theol. Seminary, MO, USA

F.I.A.E.: Int’l Academy of Educators, Ontario, Canada

There are various outfits (mostly suspect) called Jubilee International Bible Institute and Evangelical Theological Seminary online, but there is no Jubilee International Bible Institute in California (CA) and no Evangelical Theological Seminary in Missouri (MO).

A higher education institution that has no online presence whatsoever is automatically suspect, if not outright fictitious. It is most probably a diploma mill.

I have also found the following information (here, full text reproduced below):

Evangelical Theological Seminary has since changed its name to Biblical Life College and Seminary, operates out of Dixon, MO, claims accreditation by American Accrediting Association of Theological Institutions (not recognized by the U.S. Department of Education ), and (under the name of Evangelical Theological Seminary) is also listed as a degree mill in Chapter 12 of Name It and Frame It? New Opportunities in Adult Education and How to Avoid Being Ripped Off by ‘Christian’ Degree Mills (affectionately known as NIFI) by Steve Levicoff, Ph.D.

Name it and Frame it?
Kevin Dyson’s “alma maters”, Jubilee International Bible Institute, CA, USA, and  Evangelical Theological Seminary, MO, USA have no online presence whatsoever. Furthermore, Evangelical Theological Seminary, MO, USA is listed as a diploma mill by Levicoff. I therefore conclude that both outfits are bogus.
It would appear that Kevin Dyson has practiced fraud and deception, by using bogus academic credentials, on Tung Ling Seminary, Malaysia, where he is an adjunct lecturer (unless Tung Ling colluded with Dyson in perpetrating the deception on the public). Interestingly, Rev “Dr” Eu Hong Seng, Chairman and faculty member of Tung Ling Seminary, is also on Dyson’s diploma mill NCIU’s International Board of Reference (along with Kong Hee). So perhaps Tung Ling is indeed in collusion with Dyson in the deception.
Kong Hee and Eu Hong Seng on NCIU Board
Dyson’s dishonesty further strengthens my belief that NCIU which Dyson founded is a fraud and a diploma mill, from which Kong Hee and Phil Pringle, close friends of Dyson’s, obtained bogus doctorates.

Kevin Dyson’s Bachelor of Arts (Bachelor of Theology)

Kevin Dyson holds a BA (BTh) from Jubilee International Bible College (JIBC), Queensland, Australia.

I could find no website of the said college, but instead found the following advertisement for its Diploma courses (no Bachelor’s program mentioned) on the New Straits Times (Malaysia) of Oct 1, 1994 (source):

Jubilee International Bible College, Brisbane, Australia
New Straits Times, Oct 1, 1994 (source)

The above advertisement links JIBC with “Dr” Tony Keys in 1994. The following LinkedIn profile however associates him with Jubilee International Christian College of Brisbane in 1994. An outfit whose President (and founder, apparently [here]) is confused about its name is very worrying indeed.

From its small beginning of four students, the college grew to a student body of over 230 with nine staff members. During this time the college trained and equipped over 1200 students. These students are now serving in twelve different denominations in twelve countries throughout the world.

_______________

Kevin Dyson founded NCIU in 1978. His BA (BTh) is from Tony Keys’ outfit, Jubilee International Bible (Christian?) College in Brisbane, founded in 1983.  Therefore NCIU, a “university”, was founded by Dyson at least five years before he started his undergraduate study. An amazing feat indeed.

The former principal (c. 1990-94) of Tung Ling Bible School in Singapore, “Dr” Neal Patterson, holds a Doctorate in Theology from Jubilee International Bible College (JIBC) in Brisbane, Australia (source).

According to Tony Keys, the founder and President (Feb 1983 – Dec 1999) of JIBC, the college has only nine staff members (academic and admin) in Dec 1999 (see Keys’ LinkedIn profile above). For such a modest outfit to award a Doctorate in Theology is another astounding feat.

This is yet another sign of the quality of degrees/diplomas awarded by JIBC.

For the building shown here to accommodate 240 staff members and students (as claimed by Tony Keys)  is another feat.

 VISION INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY (SOURCE)

I first ran across Vision International University a few years ago while researching a few issues concerning Newport University, as they were the only other institution besides Newport “accredited” by the IASCU. At the time, their Web site at http://viu.com had a minimal amount of information, and the only other Web site with any information was http://www.angelfire.com/rock/lathropcc/new_page_1.htm . Their accreditation statement (including a statement that they were affiliated with Newport University) was located at http://www.angelfire.com/rock/lathropcc/new_page_2.htm . These Web pages are still functional, probably due to the fact that a free Web host hosts them.

It is interesting to note that IASCU, for the longest time was supposedly operating out of Antwerp, Belgium, but now claims to be located in Berlin, Germany. Moreover, a search for member institutions on their Web site (neatly organized by continents) doesn’t reveal any affiliated schools. My guess is that there still aren’t any other members, aside from Newport and Vision. The bottom line, however, is this: claiming accreditation by IASCU serves one, and only one, purpose—to deceive prospective students as to the accreditation and legitimacy of the school and the utility of the degrees. (For the record, Vision International University’s predecessors, such as Vision Christian College and Vision Bible College and Seminary, also claimed unrecognized accreditation—from the infamous Accrediting Commission International.)

In addition to bogus accreditation, Vision International University also claims affiliation with The American Society of Christian Therapists and The American Association of Family Counselors. Both organizations are listed as credential mills in Chapter 13 of Name It and Frame It? New Opportunities in Adult Education and How to Avoid Being Ripped Off by ‘Christian’ Degree Mills  (affectionately known as NIFI) by Steve Levicoff, Ph.D.. Moreover Vision International University predecessors Vision Christian College, Vision Christian University and Logos Bible College and Graduate School (founded by Vision International University president Stan E. DeKoven) are all specifically listed as degree mills in Chapter 12 of NIFI. (Although, of course, nothing beats hearing it straight from the author—thanks, Steve.)

Vision International University now claims to be “one of the world’s largest distance-education institutions with over 4,000 campus locations on six continents and in 112 nations.” What they neglect to say, of course, is that practically anyone can set up a “campus” and affiliate himself or herself with Vision. Conveniently, those who set up campuses, frequently end up being recipients of Vision degrees. The self-proclaimed mastermind of this Rube Goldberg-inspired educational franchise system is Dr. Stan E. DeKoven, president of Vision International University.

In addition to a claiming a Bachelors degree in Psychology from San Diego State University and a M.A. in Counseling from Webster University, Stan E. DeKoven, also claims a D.Min. from the Evangelical Theological Seminary.

Could this be the same Evangelical Theological Seminary that has since changed its name to Biblical Life College and Seminary, operates out of Dixon, MO, claims accreditation by American Accrediting Association of Theological Institutions (not recognized by the U.S. Department of Education), and (under the name of Evangelical Theological Seminary) is also listed as a degree mill in Chapter 12 of NIFI? Moreover, Dr. DeKoven also claims a Ph.D. from the now defunct (and never accredited) Professional School of Psychological Studies, and is allegedly completing his second Ph.D. in Leadership from Berne University.

Dr. DeKoven is also listed (sans any titles or academic credentials, except for being the president of Vision Christian College and Vision Christian Ministries) as ”Professor of several courses in the counseling field” on Christian Leadership University’s Faculty Members Web site. Not surprisingly, at one time, Christian Leadership University claimed accreditation from ACI (it now claims it from the World-Wide Accreditation Commission of Christian Educational Institutions) through its affiliation with Vision Bible College and Seminary, and is also listed as a degree mill in NIFI. Currently their Web site makes no mention of any affiliation with Vision.

Kevin Dyson works with resurrectionists in Fiji  (source1, source2)

“How can you explain to people who have never experienced a true revival what it is like to have an open heaven – a situation in which prayers are answered almost as fast as they are spoken?” asks Dr. Kevin Dyson, Deacon at New Covenant International (NCI), a theological seminary in the USA. “One way would be to take them to Fiji,” he answers. “Fiji is one of the nations which God is currently blessing in an unusual manner.””13 years ago, NCI began working with Christian Mission Fellowship, a national church movement led by pastor Suliasi Kurolo,” writes Dyson. “Since then, 1,200 students have completed theological studies. 87 new churches have been planted, three new Bible schools founded, and missions projects in 16 Pacific nations started. At the most recent graduation, 18 new pastors were ordained, which is not possible until they each have a church with at least 50 adult members. In addition, we blessed 83 new church planters, who aim to plant 62 new churches in the next 12 months.”

“Listening to these church planters is like reading a new edition of Acts. We heard of people being raised from the dead, invalids who can walk again, blind who can now see, deaf who can hear and dumb who can now speak, as well as many new believers in the Kingdom of God,” he reports. “One Hindu woman, for example, was in Fiji’s main hospital, suffering from terminal cancer. Her family was gathered around her as a Bible school student came by, visiting the patients. He was not only able to explain the gospel to the whole family, but also prayed for the woman’s healing. The woman was healed, along with others who were healed of deafness and dumbness. In response, 22 Hindus decided to become Christians. The government has asked NCI to develop a programme for the High Schools based on Biblical values, as politicians saw God’s power transforming young people and old. It is clearly a true, observable and lasting revival,” says Dyson.

How Can Kong Hee Say “I Do Maintain My Integrity”? (Part 1)

Last weekend, Kong Hee addressed City Harvest Church about his situation and his moral integrity over the allegations of financial misconduct.

(Edit (07/08/2012): He still parades himself as “Dr. Kong Hee”.)

However, Hee did not honestly address Pringle Pringle at this event. Hee addressed Phil Pringle as ‘Dr Phil Pringle’.

I Do Maintain My Integrity – Dr Kong Hee

It is always good to have a solid pastor to assess the evidence of Kong Hee (head of City Harvest Church), Phil Pringle (head of the C3 Movement) and Gordon Moore (founders and Senior Ministers of C3 Church Bridgeman Downs, Executive Member/National Directors of Australia for C3 Church Global).

Pastor Gervase Charmley examined our articles here:

Is Doctor Phil Pringle Really a Doctor?

What Is Wrong With Gordon & Kong?

This was his assessment of their diploma mill doctorates:

“Obviously not every non-accredited school is a diploma mill. What makes a diploma mill is that a degree may be obtained quickly and with little or no actual effort on the part of the one obtaining it, apart from the payment of a fee. For example, I do not think anyone would call Bob Jones University a diploma mill. Online education and distance learning are facts of our modern world, so that there are institutions that do not have a campus in the traditional sense, but who have high academic standards (The Open University in the UK is a great example of this, and probably the oldest). But from the description of the institution that awarded the doctorates of Phil pringle and Kong Hee, it sounds like a classic diploma mill.” – Pastor Gervase Charmley, 11/08/2012.

Don’t forget that Phil Pringle and Kong Hee have other close friends in ministry, who also got their false doctorates from another diploma mill.

Christians need to realise that New Covenant International University is NOT an accredited educational institution. Sze Zeng explains the ramifications of ministers who go through this unaccredited institution.

“This is a legal religious educational institution in the state of Florida in the USA. The Florida Statutes 1005.6 (f) states that, “A religious college may operate without governmental oversight”.

That means you can start up an university to teach black magic in Florida as long as the rules in Statutes 1005.6 is followed. You can give out Ph.D in Voodoo or Ph.D in Bomoh, if you like. Though being legally instituted by the state of Florida, that alone does not guarantee the recognition of the institution’s degrees in other states of the USA and other countries. Such recognition comes through ‘accreditation’. That means the master’s degrees and doctorates provided by institutions which are accredited and those which are not are qualitatively different.

The accreditation body that guarantees the quality of higher education in Florida is the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Theological seminaries and Christian universities like Asbury Theological Seminary and Baylor University are accredited by the body. And New Covenant International University & Theological Seminary is not in the accreditation list.

Simply said, those without accreditation is free to grant degrees without ensuring academic competency and so the certificates are not recognized. The implication is that those people who got their degrees and doctorates from unaccredited institutions cannot use the title “Dr.” in their referent, or even if they use it, it is a fake “Dr.”, like calling a woman without a child under her care as “mother”.”

With this in mind, Sze Zeng says,

“Now you may be wondering why am I highlighting the New Covenant International University & Theological Seminary. That is because the institution’s president Kevin Dyson was here earlier this year giving a series of talks on relationship at City Harvest Church. And lo and behold, our local charismatic Kong Hee‘s Master of Divinity (M.Div) and Doctor of Theology (D.Th) are from Dyson’s institution. If he really wants a good quality theological education degree, he can get them from local seminaries and theological colleges. There are plenty which are accredited here. Don’t have to get from a dubious institution in Florida. But if he prefer overseas degrees, he should opt for places like Asbury or Baylor.”

(Source: http://szezeng.blogspot.com.au/2009/12/new-covenant-international-university.html, (Accessed: 22/04/2012).)

So Who Is Gordon Moore?

Gordon Moore has this to say about himself (emphasis mine):

“Gordon and Jo Moore are the founders and Senior Ministers of C3 Church Bridgeman Downs and serve as Executive Members and the National Directors of Australia for C3 Church Global.

Over the last 30 years Gordon has served as a Senior Minister, evangelist, and missionary, teaching and preaching throughout the world. He has authored numerous books, articles, and resources.

Gordon is not only qualified in ministry but also in education. He is a qualified teacher with a Diploma and Certificate in Teaching (NZ), and a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training (Qld). He also holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Bible Theology (USA).

In 1986 Gordon and Jo, with their four children, migrated to Australia and founded C3BD in Brisbane, which has developed into a growing, impacting church. C3BD runs many community activities and the Ignition Training College.

Gordon and Jo’s passion is to build strong local churches that are relevant and successfully reaching the unchurched.”

(Source: Gordon & Jo Moore, http://oceaniaconvention.com/speakers/pastor-gordon-moore/, (Accessed: 22/04/2012).)

Does the fact that Dr. Moore “holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Bible Theology (USA)” raise eyebrows? The institution where he got his doctorate is also the New Covenant International University, Florida USA in the year 2000. They have their old address:

This is the same place Phil Pringle (friends of Kevin Dyson), got his doctorate in 1999.

Is Doctor Phil Pringle Really a Doctor?

You can see Gordon Moore advertising Kevin Dyson’s New Covenant International University where he got his Doctor of Philosophy in Bible Theology, on his Facebook wall.

“New Covenant International University, Florida USA, 2000

PhD Theology and History”

Why does Gordon Moore validate himself as a National Director of Australia for C3 Church Global with this dodgy doctorate? Why do Phil Pringle, Kong Hee and Gordon Moore still use their ‘Dr’ titles when their doctorates are not recognised? Shouldn’t they be more honest?
