HOW IS KONG HEE GAINING FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR HIS LEGAL DEFENSE?

Through the audio we have collected, Pringle has clearly demonstrated how Kong Hee has worked around new Singaporean legislation to solicit financial support for his lawyers and travelling expenses. Please note that the audios, videos or transcripts below may be copied and freely distributed.

Kong Hee Trial

PRINGLE MISLEADING THE GENERAL PUBLIC OVER KONG HEE

Since the investigations started back in 2010, it appears Phil Pringle has neglected to inform his church why Kong Hee is under investigation and why Kong Hee is currently in the courts. We are aware that some C3 church leaders do not know why Kong is being investigated, or why he is in court. We have found that if you ask C3 leaders or members what they know about Kong Hee’s case, they will often say that Phil Pringle is defending Kong Hee. However, they often also insist that they know nothing about Kong Hee’s situation, and that they do not feel the need to investigate the ‘pastor’ their leader is defending.

We have recordings of Phil Pringle ostensibly suppressing the serious nature of this scandal to his congregation in his church meetings. In one particular update, Pringle associated  the persecutions of Kong Hee to the persecutions of the Apostle Paul. However, the issues could not be more opposite.

It appears to be convenient for Pringle that his church and his leaders do not know what actually transpired in relation to Kong Hee and the City Harvest Church scandal. Why does it seem so necessary for Pringle to try and suppress the details of the case to the thousands of Christians around the world who attend or tune in online to his Conferences?

In 2013, Phil Pringle asked uninformed Christians attending his Global C3 Presence Conference to give sacrificially to financially support Kong Hee’s legal case. Not once was it explained to those who attended why Kong Hee was under investigation.

Here is what Phil Pringle said:

“I would like you just to take a card, an envelope if you’ve got one nearby. And if you’d like to participate in this, I’d like you to consider doing that. Whatever you can do it would be helpful, I know, to them. This will all go completely to Pastor Kong to help with his- costs. He has to pay this week $680,000 I think it is, for his legal fees. He’s covering his whole team’s fees. They have to mount a vigorous defense over three years. Those numbers weigh heavily on- on a person and they have prohibited him from asking his own congregation for any help.

He cannot use any of his own church funds. They’ve sold their – they sold the unit they were in. Others have moved to help them in other countries and I would like to think that we can be friends to these people in one of their darkest hours.” – Phil Pringle, http://www.youtube.com/watch? &v=2g-BB9BF7xk , Presence Conference 2013.

This is not the first time Pringle has failed to inform thousands of Christians about the details of ongoing investigations of Kong Hee and his associates from City Harvest Church. At the Presence Conference 2011, Phil Pringle prophesied over Kong Hee and then encouraged all the churches gathered to financially support Kong Hee. While encouraging people to give, take note of what Pringle says:

“Then, I think it was even more for him. I can’t remember the figures. But I know that for- they had to raise seven million dollars for members of staff and others to travel. That’s just that area. If you’ve ever been to Singapore, you know how expensive this place is. To fight the case he has had to employ a legal firm. And I know what the bills are. They are nearly a million dollars each time they come. Between half a million and a million dollars each time those bills come. His church is not allowed to pay one cent of his personal cost that he is incurring in this battle. He has to find it himself.

He’s sold his house. He has scratched together everything he can. One of the things that I’m doing is going there. I’ve made a commitment to be there once every two weeks. Normally it ends up being once every three weeks because of a variety of commitments that I’ve already got and doing things. But when I’m gone, he’s able to travel. And when I’m there, he’s able to travel and preach and find support amongst Asia and other churches.

Uh- I know that he was finding it hard to put some money together to get a cup of Starbucks at one stage. And uh- it’s a challenge. There’s been new legislation passed on the use of commercial spaces in Singapore since this case has come. So the religio- the restriction on his church is severe, ah, in that area [inaudible] after their purchase, go into co-ownership with ah, SunTec. And we’re in there. I will be speaking there in a couple days time. I will be on Friday to speak there happily.” – Phil Pringle, http://www.youtube.com/watch?&v=uwNignarJCg, Presence Conference 2011.

From the above quotes, what can we ascertain from Pringle’s own words?

1. CHC has to “raise seven million dollars for members of staff and others to travel”. Why?

2. Pringle knows that for Kong Hee “To fight the case he has had to employ a legal firm” that cost “nearly a million dollars each time they come”.

3. Pringle acknowledges that “There’s been new legislation passed on the use of commercial spaces in Singapore since this case has come. So the… restriction on his church is severe “.

4. Pringle concludes that the financial issues Kong Hee faces, ” have prohibited him from asking his own congregation for any help” and that he “cannot use any of his own church funds”.

5. Pringle notes that, “Others have moved to help them in other countries” and that he would like people at the Presence Conference to financially “be friends to these people in one of their darkest hours”.

What “moved others” from “other countries” to support Kong Hee? According to Pringle, it is because:

1. He has “made a commitment to be [at CHC] once every two weeks”. And when Pringle is at CHC, he says Kong Hee is “able to travel and preach and find support amongst Asia and other churches”.

Last year Pringle also stated:

“I was in Singapore last week ah- folks with our good friends Kong and Sun Hee, although they are very rarely there when I am speaking because it gives them a chance to get out amongst the Asian community or various parts around the world and share in churches their burden ‘n what they’re facing and keep support happening and maintain a healthier relationship and communion with the wider body. And so that’s part of the reason why I am able to go there and uh- and they’ve just had ah- one really interesting breakthrough in this last week where the Commission of Charities (that’s the organisation overseeing charities in Singapore) has exonerated Sun from all ah- all charges against her so-“

Once again Pringle reinforces that:

1. When he is over at Kong Hee’s church it “gives them a chance to get out amongst the Asian community or various parts around the world and share in churches their burden ‘n what they’re facing and keep support happening and maintain a healthier relationship and communion with the wider body”.

The audio provided here clearly demonstrates that Phil Pringle has been allowing Kong Hee to use his C3 Presence Conference to solicit support in bearing his financial “burden” through by giving their “support”.

AN EXAMPLE OF KONG SHARING HIS “BURDEN” AND GETTING “SUPPORT”

To confirm that Kong Hee is gaining “support” from churches outside of Singapore, we can examine him “sharing his burden” and gaining “support” from those who attended Phil Pringle’s Presence Conferences.

In 2012, Kong Hee prayed the following on the first night at Presence Conference 2012 (not the opening night):

“Father I just pray even right now from the front to the back, from the left to the right, that tonight you move in a great way. Lord you know that it’s been a tiring time for the last twenty three months. For every step of the way, you’ve been with me, you’ve been with us. And Lord for all that C3 has poured into City Harvest Church, I pray that you multiply back to them, every church –every leader, thirty fold, sixty fold, a hundred fold for your glory we pray. Amen.” – Kong Hee, Presence Conference 2012, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeIYljvQ0G0: 18:11, Day 1.

In this prayer, Kong Hee acknowledges that “C3 has poured into City Harvest Church”. By ‘poured’ he means ‘financially poured’. If you are not familiar with the term “thirty fold, sixty fold, a hundred fold”, it is Word of Faith terminology that usually means financial multiplication. The idea is that if you give financially, God will multiply your returns supernaturally. The unusual thing about this prayer is that Kong Hee said C3 poured money into City Harvest Church. But it was Pringle in 2011 that asked everyone at his Conference to give cash directly to Kong Hee and Sun Ho:

“Alrighty. Can I ask you to find your seats again? Is that alright? If you can just return to your seats. I want to let you know about a couple of things.

I’m wondering if- thank you Kari. I’m wondering if i can do something that ah- we don’t do here normally. (And I’ve only got about five minutes because the buses are leaving at ten o’clock.)

I’m wondering, as I was sitting there just wrestling with a thought, because I really ah, appreciate everybody here and their sacrifice in getting here. But I’m feeling like I just would like us to show love in a very real and a practical way for Kong and Sun.

So I’m just going to ask this question. If you would like to help them financially then we’re going to pass the container one more time here. I don’t want you to feel that you have to. I don’t want you to feel that there’s any great drive for this on you at all.

But I just feel that maybe some of you who would like to do this. We normally don’t receive offerings for preachers because it’s a very big conference and it’s a- and we build it into our overall thinking and budget to look after our speakers. But right now, if you need a card and you want to help these guys, just raise your hand.

You need to understand that they- I’m- I’m not quite sure I can say this, are they- are they- they’re gone? Okay. Umm…” – Presence Conference 2011.

Something is amiss with the content of Kong Hee’s prayer. Wasn’t Kong Hee supposed to receive the support directly? In 2011, Phil Pringle specifically asked people to give money directly to fund Kong Hee’s legal battles. It would appear that in 2012 Kong Hee’s prayer was acknowledging that he indeed received this personal financial support, while using his church as a safeguard to hide this fact.

It was at this same conference we also see Kong Hee share his “burden” in more detail.

This sermon not only had the above prayer, but is also is the very sermon that has caused controversy in Singapore where Kong Hee claimed that God apologised to him. This is why we believe some people are outraged with the latest information – they perceive that Kong Hee is distorting the severity of the case for his personal and financial gain. Here again is what Kong Hee said on the first night of Presence Conference 2012:

“And [God the Father] said, ‘My son, I’m so sorry that you need to go through this alone. But you need to die and you need to go through this to be the Saviour of the world!’ And God the Father had broken and He wept as He turned His face, when His son took the sin of the whole world.

I was saying all this and I’m hearing myself behind the pulpit- and I froze. I could not utter another word. And I sobbed and I shook. Because those were my exact sentiments.

“Father, Father! Why? My God! My God! Why have you forsaken me and thrown me to the dogs?”

And for the first time in eight months, I heard the voice. It is not the voice of a strict angry judge that only want me to perform and build a big church and nothing I do is ever good enough for him. No. It’s not a voice of angry judge. It’s not the voice of a slave driver. That just wants to take and take and wring me dry. But it was a voice of a tender, loving, broken-hearted Father.

For the first time in eight months, God – I heard Him crying. And He said, “My son, Kong, thank you! Thank you for going through this. I need you to go through this alone so that you and City Harvest Church can be the man and the ministry I call it to be. I’m so sorry. But you need to go through with this by yourself, to bring a change to your generation”.

Oh come on! Give the Lord a big hand tonight!

I hear God saying for the first time in eight months, “I love you! I love you! I love you!” Waves upon waves of God’s love- the love of the Father, just, saturated me. All I could say was, “Abba! Abba!! AABBAAAA!!! Daddy! ABBA!!!” And I knew, everything was going to be, alright.

Everything was going to be alright.” – Kong Hee, http://www.youtube.com/watch?&v=FKVSXfjhB14, Presence Conference 2012, Night Service, 11/04/2012.

As you can see, you are hearing a very one-sided and propaganda-like presentation of Kong Hee’s situation.

So we are seeing that what Pringle has said about Kong Hee appears be true. Phil Pringle’s Presence Conference was a place Kong Hee felt safe enough to “share… their burden ‘n what they’re facing and keep support happening”. And guess what? Kong can say whatever he wants to whoever he wants… and get away with it. How would Singapore know what his agenda is when he speaks at churches in other countries? Who can keep him accountable for what he says around the world, away from the Singaporean judicial system?

THE FRAUDULENT BEHAVIOUR CONTINUES

In light of the legal investigations underway at the times and the court case, it is scandalous of Pringle to invite Kong Hee to speak at Presence Conference from 2010 to 2013, . Pringle persisted in giving Kong Hee the floor to present his propaganda-like stories, designed to raise financial support for his legal expenses, yet disguised as sermons. Not once did Phil Pringle or Kong Hee give an accurate account as to why Kong Hee was under investigation or why Kong Hee is currently in court. Why is the media failing to expose Phil Pringle and Kong Hee’s fraudulent behaviour in financially misleading thousands of people at these events?

Last year at City Harvest Church, Phil Pringle made a video showing a number of pastors who chose to lend their support to Kong Hee. Kong Hee spoke at Ed Young’s church in 2011.

We’ve also covered Kong Hee speaking recently at Victory Life Centre, providing a very one-sided story of his case back in Singapore:

The Kong job continues (What is Victory Life Centre trying to hide?)

Kong also spoke recently at Ed Young’s C3 2013 Conference:

Kong Hee, Singapore Megachurch Pastor Arrested for Fraud, Visits Ed Young’s C3 2013

Did Kong Hee get love offerings from these churches after spreading more propaganda about his plight against the Singaporean government? Why are pastors like John Bevere, Mark Conner, Casey Treat, David Yonggi Cho and many more allowing Kong Hee to mislead their churches about his case? Were they misled and groomed to financially support Kong Hee’s lawyers as we saw at Presence Conference? Are these the churches that Pringle was alluding to when he said that “others have moved to help them in other countries”?

Leaders like John Bevere, Yonggi Cho, Casey Treat and Ed Young have already been exposed as false Christian teachers. Is it any wonder they would support someone like Kong Hee? Are we seeing a banding of false teachers, each being only accountable to their inner circle rather than the body of Christ?

This scandal needs to be addressed by the universal body of Christ. How far are men like Phil Pringle and Kong Hee allowed to go with this ungodly, manipulative behaviour before the true church starts dealing with such wolves?

CHC So “Grounded In The Word” But Missing The Point Of Christianity?

It appears that CHC members like to think they are “grounded in the Word of God”.

After reading this article by CityNews, it becomes apparent that CHC members are more conditioned by clever marketing ploys and psychological manipulation. It appears that Phil Pringle has taught Kong Hee how to build his ‘church’ very well. Consider these teachings from Phil Pringle before reading the below CityNews article (Please note that Pringle’s teachings on Abraham are false):

“People can become anything under the right conditions.” – Phil Pringle, You The Leader, pg 319.

“The people we choose are to “fight for us.” The people we choose must have the ability to fight and win. They have proven themselves in spiritual battles and triumphed. They are overcomers. They display consistently positive attitudes. These people do not just attend, support or watch, but they fight. For us! They do not just fight for their own victories. They fight for the church. They defend the Pastor when he’s criticized. They fight for the church’s reputation, health and her finances. They are genuine soldiers for God… I want to know my guys will be loyal to me when the attacks are unjustified, and when they are justified.” – Phil Pringle, You The Leader, pg 317-318.” – Phil Pringle, You The Leader, pg 317-318.

“All the ministries in our churches, from Youth Leaders through to Music Directors and Associate Pastors are best “home-grown”. Abraham trained those who were born “in his own house,” to be an extremely effective band of soldiers (Gen 14:14)… Those people God gives us are rarely trained when they come. This is so that we can place our particular anointing and culture into their lives. They come unready, so that we can go to work at making them ready.” – Phil Pringle, You The Leader, pg 319.

“Abraham’s method is far preferable to getting someone from elsewhere. If people do come from outside, give them time to be “baptised” into the church, so they “own” the vision like everybody else. To become true sons and daughters of the church they need to drink the milk (accept the teaching), imbibe the spirit (accept the attitude of the church), and accept the name (be proud of belonging to your congregation).” – Phil Pringle, You The Leader, pg 320.

If you did not find that creepy, wait til you read this article. Ask yourself, “Shouldn’t Jesus be the central focus, NOT CHC?”

CityNews writes,

What CHC Is All About

New believers undergo the Church Introductory Course to get acquainted with the organization behind the vision.

City Harvest Church is well-known for having members who are grounded in the Word of God. That is because the church believes it is imperative for every member to be discipled and adequately equipped with sound biblical principles. As such, CHC has developed Bible study programs that are centered on Christian beliefs.

There are 12 different Bible study programs in CHC, each discuss and strengthen key aspects of the believer’s life. Through these programs, the believer is taught fundamental beliefs, as he goes through the growth process and finally matures into the fullness of Christ.

The very first program that launches the believer into this journey is the Church Introductory Class.

New members of CHC are encouraged to undergo this series of four lessons to discover the why, what and how of CHC—the reason the church does what it does. Attendees learn all about the history of CHC, its vision, mission statement, core beliefs and cell group system. Each lesson is comprehensive and interactive, with worksheets to be filled in.

LEARNING ABOUT THE VISION

CHC has one of the largest congregations in Asia. Its mission is “to build a church with a strong spiritual atmosphere of faith and purity, where every member is released into ministry, discipled in the Great Commandment to obey the Great Commission and the Cultural Mandate.” Through the CIC course, new members will acquire a deeper understanding of this mission and vision.

God has a purpose for every member in the body of Christ and this series of lessons aims to be the starting point to help one discover what his or her purpose might be. In addition, the structure that supports the vision is also revealed in this course—how CHC functions in its role as a church. Upon the completion of the course, members should understand why there is a need for CHC, what it means to be a City Harvester, and the importance for a Christian to be rooted in a local church.

THE PURPOSE OF CIC

Some of the zones in CHC are recently conducted the CIC course for their members. The zone under the pastoral care of Aries Zulkarnain (one of CHC’s executive pastors) had 120 members attending the course, while the zone under Wu Yuzhuang, a district pastor, had a turnout of 130.

“We just had our Easter weekend services last month where we saw many give their hearts to Jesus Christ,” explained Wu. “The CIC course is designed to explain who and what CHC is all about.”

Said Zulkarnain, also a pioneer of the church, “CIC is important because it introduces the values of the church. It also helps to strengthen the foundation of the members’ faith in relation to the church.

Andrea Lau, a student who started attending CHC three months ago, said, “The CIC classes showed me that CHC is a church that does not do things randomly. Everything is planned out thoughtfully and acted upon specifically, according to the vision given by God. Every detail and activity has a purpose.” In addition, she also learned that it is important to have a vision from God when it comes to organizing events and activities, so that there is no wastage of resources and time.

Another student, Casey Ho,  felt that the course was effective in grounding the fundamental values and belief system of the church in new members.  He said, “Pastor Zhuang is able to engage the class with his own personal experiences as a pioneering member of CHC. The use of interesting analogies made the lessons very relatable. Best of all, everything is supported with strong biblical references.”

As the course communicates and informs members of the plans and purposes behind the vision of the church, the hoped-for result is that every member be able and willing to achieve this vision, together in unity.

To sign up for the next CIC series, e-mail to info@chc.org.sg.

“The CIC course has given me better understanding about the fundamentals of being a Christian. It challenges me as a member of the church to play a part in building the Kingdom of God and my local church.”
Andrew Chandra

“I found the lessons very heartfelt. The content motivates and challenges me to commit myself to the house of the Lord.
Michelle Louise

“The class is interesting and very comprehensive. I am convicted by how important it is to find a suitable church and get rooted in that church.”
Lee Wanfong

“During the CIC lessons, Ps. Aries taught that in Christ, we can find our purpose in life and serve God with our talents. I was very impacted by this.”
Ivon Suhartono

“Through the CIC lessons, I’ve come to know about CHC. CHC is more than just a church, it’s a family. It is a place where I can experience God’s love, as well as love from other believers in church.”
Phyllis Yeo Shu Lin

“I am impacted by the love found in the church, and challenged to love and serve each other at greater length in this church.”
Willie Ng Zhiwei

“The CIC course has awakened to me the fact that there is a higher and divine purpose for each and everyone of us; and the church system provides us with the opportunity to develop our talents and gift, so as to reach out to the community with Christ’s love.”
Casey Ho

“The lessons were very enjoyable as Pastor taught it in a fun and interesting way. I am amazed by the vision of our church as I learn more about it through the class.”
Penny Chua Hui Yi

Apprising Tackles Pringle, Houston, Kong & Giglio At Global Presence Conference 2014

Apprising reports,

LOUIS GIGLIO STANDS WITH PHIL PRINGLE, BRIAN HOUSTON, AND KONG HEE AT C3 CHURCH

By Ken Silva pastor-teacher on Jan 9, 2014 in AM Missives, Current Issues, Features

A

Apprising Ministries continues with our documenting for you The Falling Away Of The Evangelical Church. Even a few years ago who would have thought Word Faith Heretics Like Creflo Dollar Draw Nearer To Evangelical Acceptance. Yet the apostasy has continued to grow.

We’ve reached the point where we even see Francis Chan Has Endorsed New Apostolic Teacher Mike Bickle. Now I’ll point out to you that Louis Giglio will be sharing the platform with blatant Word Faith preacher Phil Pringle of the C 3 Church (C3) movement in April.

As is typical of Word Faith (WF) organizations, Scripture is ignored and C3 is led by pastor Phil along with his wife pastrix Chris aka Mama Chris:

A4
(source)

It would seem Louis Giglio doesn’t have a problem with women acting as elders as he’s had Beth Moorepreach a Sunday morning service at his own church.1 The fact is, Giglio is set to be one of the “voices” for Phil Pringle’s C3 Church Presence Conference 2014 (C3 2014) this coming April 22-25.

As you can see, Louis Giglio is set to be on the platform at C3 2014 along with WF preachers like Pringle, Brian Houston, and Kong Hee:

A5
(source)

However, we’re really not surprised because this isn’t the first time Giglio has shared the platform with WF preachers; he was already at Houston’s infamous annual Hillsong Conference back in 2012:

Evangelist Louie Giglio, speaking during the last day of the Hillsong Conference in Sydney Friday, shared about how he was lifted by God’s grace from a more than two-month struggle with the physical and emotional symptoms of stress and depression. (source)

Looks like that message would fit in just fine at a self help-style WF conference. Another time we’ll look further at Brian Houston; however, for our purposes here, you should know that Houston is the ring leader of the nefarious WF Hillsong Church, Australia.

In fact, Houston’s lead pastor along with his wife pastrix Bobbie; and two years ago we even saw Beth Moore To Speak For Hillsong Church. Houston’s also growing in stature with the burgeoning Evangelical Ecumenical Magisterium (EEM) as well.

This is evidenced e.g. in this tweet from EEM leader Mark Driscoll back on May 5 of 2012:

B
(source)

You may also recall that EEM junior member Judah Smith regularly preaches for Brian Houston’s HC conferences. And you need to know that now Houston’s even got the kind of clout necessary within the apostatizing visible church to land two of the biggest names in Christendom for HC’s 2013 conference.

Notice that Smith shared the podium with EEM godfather Rick Warren and Word Faith self help guru Joel Osteen as I previously showd you in Joel Osteen Moving One Step Closer To Mainstream Evangelicalism:

AA
(source)

Rick Warren was there at HC as far back as 2006 and he returned the favor a couple of years ago with Word Faith Preacher Brian Houston Of Hillsong Australia Speaking At Saddleback Church. By the way HC Conference 2013 also featured Word Faith mogul T.D. Jakes.2

Now consider that Phil Pringle has been able to land both Brian Houston and Louis Giglio; and so it seems that Pringle himself is now moving more into the mainstream. 2012 appears a busy one for this cross pollination of theology; and sure enough, Pringle’s move would begin that year as well.

It happened when he brought in highly influential EEM prophet-pastor Steven Furtick to his C3 2012 conference:

What I am trying to do here is to help you see that there’s a real convergence of evangelicalism with the biggest names in the Word Faith movement; Giglio standing with such as these will now serve to further align his Passion/268 Jesus Generation movement with their own WF movements.

We should also find it of interest to note that Hillsong United, which originated at Houston’s HC, is slated to entertain the young at Giglio’s upcoming Passion 2014; and in addition, former Hillsong pastrixChristine Caine will also once again share the podium with Louis Giglio there at Passion.3

Are we really to think that all of this interbreeding is truly happening by some sheer coincidence? Finally, Giglio will be at Phil Pringle’s C3 2014 with Kong Hee, an up and coming WF pastor. You may recall that name from Rising Word Faith Pastor Kong Hee Arrested For Alleged Misuse Of Church Funds.

Then there was the disturbing idolatry of CHC Youth Worship Of Kong Hee And His CHC? Therein I informed you that Hee is founder of the largest church in Singapore, City Harvest Church, where he is pastor along with his wife pastrix Ho Yeow Sun, also known in the pop music world as Sun Ho.

Below Kong Hee compares himself to Jesus Christ and shares some direct revelation where Hee claims God actually thanks him for going through his trial and even apologizes to Hee that, like Jesus, he has to bear it alone:

Here’s the bottom line: Louis Giglio has considerable credibility within evangelicalism, New Calvinism, and with the young, restless, and reformed. Yet it’s this kind of spiritual lunacy in the Lord’s Name that he decides to lend his credibility to; and now that I have dared to be critical of Phil Pringle, let me quickly close.

For you see, I guess I’d better be afraid…be very afraid,,,because apparently, according to Pringle, God might actually kill me for opposing his spiritually bankrupt WF fables.4 But this is what the Lord says to Pringle et al:

2  false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.

2 And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep. (2 Peter 2:1-3)

This audio from Kong Hee in Presence Conference 2010 demonstrates how Kong Hee is nothing but a false teacher. Pull out your bibles and compare what Kong Hee says in the name of God to the Word of God. See if Kong Hee makes any logical sense as he progresses in his teaching on ‘trumpets’. Is he consistent? Is Kong Hee preaching about God or something else? Who is glorified in all this?

Before we start, we wish to alert readers to these comments made by Kong Hee at the beginning of the audio:

“You know pastor Phil Pringle, Apostle, the Bishop ( J. John calls him the bishop)- to me he is the Apostle, he’s my friend, he’s the friend of God. I’ve known Pastor Phil and Pastor Chris for eighteen years. And yet we talk about City Harvest Church.

You can’t talk about City Harvest Church without talking about C3. Or Christian City Church. You know Pastor Phil has been there for me; praying with me; encouraging me; discipling me; telling me how to do the work of the ministry; taught me how to collect an offering; how to give an altar call; how to build a church; build a team. So Pastor Phil, from the depth of my heart, for Sun and myself, we wouldn’t be where we are today without you and Pastor Chris. Let’s give Pastor Phil and Pastor Chris a big clap.” 00:24

To read further how Kong Hee regards his mentor, read here:

Kong Hee To Phil Pringle: “You created this mess! You’ve Got To Come And Help Us Fix It”

Below this sermon [?] are snippets of the transcript where we would like to point out further corrections or articles. These are worth reading.

“I heard that the [C3] church started out of Dee Why.” 01:35

Kong Hee believes that Phil Pringle is an ‘apostle’ and heard that his church ‘started’ out of Dee Why. It is deceitful of Phil Pringle to feed this illusion to Kong Hee that he is an ‘Apostle’ and started/planted a church at Dee Why. Phil Pringle attempted to start a church in Roseville. He was unsuccesful. Instead, Pringle caused a church split when he took over Paul Collins church at the Dee Why Surf Club in Sydney. Read the chapter from John Barclay’s book ‘Arise’ where Barclay records the history of Christin City Church.

The History of Phil Pringle & The C3 Movement

Kong says,

“Even this week he [Phil Pringle] blessed me with a wonderful pen. I understand that there are only two of these in the whole earth. In the whole world. This is the ‘Phil Pringle’ pen. Better than Mt Blanc. Better than Watermark. You know it’s so anointed. You know I was carrying it and I felt the power of God. I tell you I was trembling over. I just put this on… Where are the catchers?

I’m just going to carry it near my heart so the anointing of God can pulsate- OK…” [03:16]

The bible says that one of the attributes of a false teacher is that “through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you” (2 Peter 2:3). Here, Kong Hee is no different. While it sounds like he is joking, he like Pastrix Chris Pringle and Senior Pastor Mark Kelsey, promote that people can buy Pringle’s anointed merchandise.

Phil Takes A Power Nap While Chris Gets A Dour Slap

You Too Can BUY Phil Pringle’s ‘Godly’ Anointing!

C3 Brisbane Encouraged To Bid On The Lord’s Supper ….. And The Pastors Pants?

Kong also promotes his own merchandise.

“Praise the Lord! Well, this afternoon I just realised while I was here, I bought along products but I didn’t even talk about it. So my guys was telling me and- so I just want to make known to you that today in the next few hours there’s some material.” [03:50]

Finally, the visions Kong receives towards the end are 100% false. Hell was MADE to punish the devil and his agents. However, the vision that Kong Hee received is against the Holy Spirit’s revealed truth about hell.

Oddly enough, Kong Hee supposedly quoted a demon that reported to Satan that pornography and lust were spreading throughout the world. Due to Kong Hee’s of his wife’s “China Wine” music video, how are they not promoting the work of this demon? Something to think about.

A CALL TO PRAYER & ACTION

We wish to urge our readers to please pray for members of City Harvest Church. Our heart does go out to the people who are heavily involved in CHC.

Below the youtube video was the following,

“About 50 staff and members of City Harvest Church have started lining up outside the Subordinate Courts before the crack of dawn on Wednesday for the first day of a highly anticipated trial against six leaders of the church charged with fraud.

Some arrived as early as 11pm on Tuesday night in the hopes of getting a seat in what is expected to be a packed courtroom.” – SPHRazorTV, Large crowds gather outside Subordinate Courts at 6.45am for CHC trial, Published on May 14, 2013. (Accessed 15/05/2013.)

There is no doubt that City Harvest Church is a Word of Faith cult. Not to mention it has been publicly condemned as a movement that is not Christian and labeled a scam.

Dr Paul Choo Warns People Against Kong Hee’s Ministry: “This is NOT Christianity. This is NOT the gospel. This is a SCAM.”

Because the world can see it and not the followers, heartless comments have been thrown against CHC members. While CHC members do need to be educated that they are involved in a Word of Faith cult, they do not need to belittled like this:

“As these group of dumb ass supporters of this evil church’s collaborators are just like Hitler’s children who were so willing to die with them after so many years of propaganda . The only difference between Hitler and Kong and Co is that one fought for war while the other schemed for money!” – lance lau, http://www.youtube.com/comment?lc=rK-FZ6XczVnqqxaJiTQFt36EwulRyejuz4iy4FzuzfM, 15/05/2013.

We are aware that we get over 500 hits a day from our Singaporean readers. If you are involved with a more reformed or conservative bible-believing church, can we encourage you to be involved in CHC members lives and lead them out of the CHC cult? Have a meal or bible study with them and lead them into the truth through humility and prayer. May these videos on Kong Hee make your task easier. They can easily be refuted using ther scripture:

Kong Hee: A Word Of Faith Heretic (Part 1)

To Christians everywhere. Please pray for the churches in Singapore to be effective in ministering to CHC members in this time. CHC memebrs are vulnerable and exposed to unfair attack in these times. They are not the enemy. False teachers like Phil Pringle and Kong Hee are. The world now have an excuse to hate Christianity because of these false teachers. Pray for God’s sheep.

THE NEWS

The Straits Times reports,

“Prosecutors for the City Harvest trial said they had evidence of a “deliberately planned” scheme by church leaders aimed at moving millions of dollars.

In their opening statement, prosecutors said that the offences committed by church pastor Kong Hee and five other church staff were not “isolated technical breaches or inadvertent occasional missteps”.

Rather, they were part of a “deliberately planned, meticulously coordinated, and carefully executed scheme which stretched over a prolonged period of time and involved the movement of millions of dollars”.

The prosecution said they would prove beyond reasonable doubt that the accused are guilty of all charges. Kong Hee, and five senior members – Tan Ye Peng, Sharon Tan, Chew Eng Han, Serina Wee and John Lam Leng Hung – were arrested and charged last year for allegedly funnelling $24 million into sham bond investments to further the career of Kong’s wife, pop-singer Ho Yeow Sun between 2007 and 2008.

The money used was from the church’s Building Fund which was earmarked to build a new church.

Another $26.6 million is said to have been misappropriated to cover up the sham investments in a procedure known as “round-tripping”. This was supposedly done to throw the church’s auditors’ off “the scent of the bogus bonds”, said the prosecution.

These were not the genuine commercial transactions the accused persons made them out to be.

It is immaterial whether the accused thought the promotion of Ms Ho’s music career would further the broader objectives of the church. Rather, the question is whether diverting money from the Building Fund under the guise of purported bond investments to fund her career was an authorised use of the money, said the prosecution.

The six face varying counts of criminal breach of trust and falsifying accounts. The first offence is punishable with a life sentence, or up to 20 years in prison and a fine. The second carries a maximum of 10 years in jail, a fine or both.

The six accused have agreed to be jointly tried on all the charges against them.”

Two Sides Of The Story

Three years after investigations started, trial commences for six affected CHC leaders, with key differences in how the prosecution and defense wish to take the case forward

CN PHOTOS: Daniel Poh & Michael Chan.

RIGHT from first day of the trial for the six affected leaders of City Harvest Church, the prosecution and defense show major differences in how they view the case and seek to proceed.

The prosecution alleges that CHC’s senior pastor Kong Hee, pastor Tan Ye Peng, Serina Wee, Sharon Tan, John Lam and Chew Eng Han have misappropriated more than S$50 million of church funds and have committed criminal breach of trust. The accused have agreed to be jointly tried for all the charges brought against them.

The prosecution also said that the building fund of the church was inappropriately used for alleged “sham” investments in two companies Xtron and Firna to further the music career of Kong’s wife Sun Ho. In addition, the prosecution stated their defined parameters of the trial.

Before a gallery filled with more than 50 members of the public, mostly CHC members, the prosecution said it is immaterial whether the accused thought Ho’s music career would further the broader objectives of the church. Rather, deputy public prosecutor Mavis Chionh said, the issue lies with whether the building fund was used in an “authorized” manner or not. The prosecution also said it was inconsequential to the case whether Sun’s crossing over into the entertainment circle is “theologically legitimate” or not.

But the defense disagreed. The lawyers sought clarification from the prosecution on whether they equate the Crossover Project with Sun’s music career, and the defense also emphasized that since the case involves a church, theological legitimacy has to be considered, adding “as a matter of fact, there was no unlawful loss of monies by the church.”

The first prosecution witness to take the stand is Lai Baoting, a former accounting staff of CHC. She took the stand to answer questions about emails that were sent from her using an Xtron email account, before the court session broke for lunch.

The trial, which started this morning at nearly 10am, signifies a key development in a long-drawn case about the finances of CHC, which first unfolded when the Commissioner of Charities and Commercial Affairs Department launched investigations into its accounts in May 2010.

Senior Counsel N. Sreenivasan toldCity News that there are two key things to note: one, that the prosecution wants to maintain that the use of the building fund for the Crossover Project was unauthorized, but “as my learned friend Edwin Tong said in open court, the use was not unauthorized. But I won’t comment as it’s an issue before the court.”

The second key thing to bear in mind is fourfold: “The accused had no wrongful gain; there was no unlawful loss; the Church made good and there has been no dishonesty.”

Senior District Judge See Kee Oon hears the case. The trial continues this afternoon.

Pringle See Pringle Do – C3 Egging The Community With Marketing Ploys

Jesus said “seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness” (Matt 6:33) and NOT, “seek first 30, 000 easter eggs.” C3 Church came up with an ‘innovative’ way to market and celebrate Christmas this year at their church. Their website advertised an ‘Easter Egg Chopper Drop’.

The C3 Church had attached to the central picture a link to this pdf.

DL-Postcard-e-invite

This only goes to show that Phil Pringle and the C3 Movement have converted to Furtickism. This Easter Egg Chopper Drop is not innovative at all. This concept was originally Steven Furtick’s idea. Furtick writes,

“They laughed at us.
Almost everybody did.
The ones who didn’t laugh in our face must have been laughing behind our backs.

And with good reason, mind you.
We were laughing too.
It was a dumb idea, and it shouldn’t have worked.
But it did work.

Last Easter, with a fledgling 2 month old congregation of about 200, we pulled off an Easter event that made headlines.
It involved 50,000 Easter Eggs falling from the sky and thousands of dollars in prizes.
2,500 people showed up.
No one went to the hospital.
No drunk moms pulled each other’s hair out fighting over the prize winning eggs.
And we made a statement to our community:
We’re here to play ball. Happy Easter Charlotte.

We’re going to do it again this year.
The 2nd Annual Elevation Egg Drop.
Bigger and better than before.
You wait and see.

BONUS: This year, we’ve already heard of at least a dozen other churches who are going to do the event in their own cities.
We’ve been able to help many of them.
That makes me thankful.
Thankful that our stupidity is contagious and is going to help lots of other churches reach their communities with their unique (and hopefully better) versions of this Easter Egg Hunt on steroids.

I remember more than one pastor telling me what an unwise move it was.
It had never been done before, and it could flop.

True, but it could also not flop. It could be a monster success, and possibly even catch on all over the country.

Don’t you think every mammoth concept was downright laughable until it was a reality?
Inherent in any vision that has the possibility of really taking off is the possibility of really tanking, right?

Do you even think that maybe if people aren’t laughing at your ideas, you aren’t dreaming big enough?

Abraham and Sarah laughed at God’s idea.
Not a good move, guys.
But understandable.

When you think you have a good idea, and the people you trust are behind it, and you believe the best you can that God is the author of it…
Let people laugh.
Laugh along with ‘em.
And go for it.

The more the idea makes you laugh, the better the chance it’s from God.

If it fails, laugh even harder and learn something from it.
(By the way, the more expensive the failure, the more you’d better learn.)

If it succeeds, laugh at that too.
Because you know that without the blessing of God you would truly be a laughingstock.

Bottom line:
If it isn’t worth laughing at, is it really worth doing?” – Steven Furtick, http://www.stevenfurtick.com/elevation/let-%E2%80%98em-laugh/, 23/03/2007.

C3 said in their pdf,

“Come and watch as 30,000 chocolate eggs shower down from a helicopter and then hunt them down yourself!”

How much do 30,000 easter eggs cost? And how much would hiring a helicopter be? While people are celebrating this expensive ‘easter event’, remember who is paying for it: the vulnerable, poor and desperate through Pringle’s false teaching. We know he teaches that God wants to bless people financially if they give sacrificially or give money to him to unlock their financial miracle. (See archives)

So why is C3 Church doing this then? This is simply another form of advertising for Phil Pringle’s Presence Conference.

In relation to this advert, another add pops up on the myc3church.net. A massive advert for John bevere attending the C3 Oxford Falls easter services.

They also mention him in their chopper drop flyer,

“Join us for our 10am EASTER SUNDAY service, with guest speaker John Bevere.”

C3 is giving platform to a gnostic teacher who preaches a different gospel. They are rebelling against God’s Word where God says,

“Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him. Anyone who welcomes him shares in his wicked work.” 2 John 1:9-11

Read about this dangerous teacher in these articles below:

Is The Presence Conference Inviting Dishonest Men To Take Advantage of People?

What’s So Severe About Bevere?

Again, we must ask why C3 is continually promoting these delusional cult-like speakers through their manipulative marketing techniques. Why do they want to be associated with these cult-like messiahs and ‘anointed ones’ who preach false messages and gospels?
